I have a 2012 LE Camry 4 cylinder, and almost ready for the first service. I have an annoying vibration at 1150 RPM when driving. It does not matter if the AC is on or off. I have not discussed it with the dealer yet.
It is not a tire balance problem, it is engine related, and only there at a little less than 1200 RPM.
I just bought a 2012 camry about two months ago, and now I'm starting to feel some vibration while I'm driving. It seems to only happen when I'm driving between 30 and 50mph, and I am accelerating. For example, I can be cruising at 40mph and go to accelerate and I'd start feeling the vibration. It doesn't happen every time, but enough to know its something wrong. Also I can gas it 0 to 50 and feel no vibration at all. Or I could be cruising between 30 and 50mph, and gas it, I still wont feel it. Like I said it happens the most when I'm cruising between 30 and 50mph, and only when I slightly go to accelerate.

Sitting in driver’s seat I hear a drone which sounds similar to the engine lugging we hear briefly at around 1000 RPM. In the 1600-2000 RPM range it is very annoying because this is the cruising range on highways. Sometime when going up a slight incline it can be felt through the accelerator.
When seating in back seat on passenger’s side, it sounds similar to a bad muffler/resonator and is very audible. Spring loaded exhaust couplings in front of muffler and between front pipe and converter are not seized. All rubber hangers are there. Installed “B-quiet” sound absorber in trunk going from spare tire well over top of muffler and up rear quarter panel which did not work. Nothing is touching the exhaust under the car.
When idling the exhaust produces a noticeable putt-putt sound. Toyota rep (not dealer) went for a ride with me and feels it is typical of a car “for this mileage” (same as dealer told me). I stated it did not do it before and was told cars wear in and after a while characteristics change.
So I have a 2012 Toyota Camry SE V6. Back in december I got into a front end accident, had the front repaired, (they did remove the coolant container and refilled it etch) Got my car back on December 22, coolant was full. A few days ago, checked again and i noticed the white coolant container was empty (there were some pink at a corner, i guess because the hose doesn't reach that low), i checked the metal cap, it was not "completely" empty just had a very very low layer of pink coolant. (i would say just some coolant at the surface)
I do recall a sweet burning smell maybe a month or 2 ago, but my engine light did not ever come on. When i refilled it, (my dad recommended to refill just half) I did that, a day later, i checked the levels again, it was empty again. so i refilled it to half again. i drove this morning for about 10 mins, its still at the same level (maybe i didn't drive it long enough?)
I'm freaking out whether i have been driving the car without coolant for that long, and whether there were any engine damage done (even though the engine light didn't come on) I have driven the car alittle over 5k since i got the car back.
I have a 2012 Camry SE with Bridgestones. I've had it in to the dealer twice for a vibration at 60 - 75 mph in the steering. They've replaced two front tires, balanced all four tires both times, and the vibration is still there. It's very noticeable on smooth roads but no so much on repaved (tar and chip) roads. The car also wanders at highway speeds. They've tried adjusting the tire pressure from 35 to 32 which affects the ride and gas mileage but doesn't affect the vibration. The problem seems worse when the tires are up to temperature which increases the tire pressure. I'm not real happy with this brand new car. It only has 1500 miles on it.
View 13 RepliesA coworker has asked me to take a look at their 2013 Camry LE, 48,000 miles. It has a quite annoying vibration at idle and only when in reverse or drive. AC is not running this time of year, but does get worse if the compressor is turned on.
I'd like to think the trans and engine mounts are fine. It does not have any noticeable torque converter shudder. I have cleaned the throttle body, not that dirty, but not much improvement.
I suggested that he try different brands and grades of gas to see if matters improved at all - Shell 89 seems to be a slight improvement over what is normally used (just 87 from Costco, Sunoco, or Hess), but nothing substantial.
Spark plug change, decarbonizing top end?
Spark plugs look about like I'd expect an iridium plug to at these miles - no signs of oil burning, not tons of carbon, etc. I didn't get a real good look at the piston tops.
I have a 2012 camry se v6, with about 56k miles. It has been lowered on H&R springs since 20k miles. I recently got new rims, but used my old tires. I developed a high speed vibration. I got it aligned twice, and balance twice. But i still can not get rid of this vibration?
View 2 Repliesnoticed at 8k miles i started getting a vibration from the front wheels on my new camry [2014]. feels like typical warped rotor. i could understand if the car were being driven hard but its not. now at 8.5k the vibration is getting worse. Who manufactures a good quality drilled and slotted rotor ? also the dipstick tube at the block [4cyl] is leaking oil. has been repaired by toyota twice already and leaking again.
View 10 RepliesI just bought a 2015 Camry LE 2 weeks ago and noticed a slight annoying steering wheel vibration when you hit 40 kph and above. You can also feel it on the floor and when you hold the door. Brought it to the dealership and they balanced the wheel. It seemed to have made a difference and you can now feel the vibrations from 80 kph and above. Did a road test with the mechanic and the service manager but they couldn't feel anything and told me it was normal road vibrations. Was advised to go to another dealership for a 2nd opinion. 2nd dealership found a slight excessive loaded runout on the LF tire and road force balanced it.
After 2 days i can again feel a vibration, but this time now at 115 kph and above.I thought I was just being paranoid so I drove a Maxima for 2 days and never felt a vibration.
It all started around 18,000 miles when I noticed a vibration under highway braking. I convinced myself that everything was fine for the time being and I would have the dealer inspect the brakes at my 20,000 service. Fast forward to the service and all four of my rotors were warped. The dealer turned them all and said I wouldn't have any more problems. The car sits at 28,500 miles now and I'm starting to get the same vibration sensation as I had at 18,000 miles. I'm definitely going to be bringing the car in for it's 30,000 mile service and I will bring up the issue again. What type of warranty is on the brakes as I hope they will replace the rotors this time.
View 14 RepliesHave a new 2012 Camry XLE V-6. The car has an intermittent rattle/vibration coming from the front of the car. I have 5000 miles and the noise is getting worse. Taken back twice to dealer but no luck. The dealer has checked the front end and suspension, but can not find anything loose. The noise starts around 45 MPH. I know this sounds crazy, but the noise is worse if it's a windy day. A sudden guest of wind will start the noise. I've tried trouble-shooting by turning the wheel, hitting the brakes, even placing the car in netural while driving, but nothing affects the noise except the wind.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2012 SE I4 with 500 miles on it. I have noticed that while sitting at stop lights, the car vibrates slightly and I can feel it on the seat since day 1. It gets better if the AC is on. I would expect that when stopped and sitting at a stop light, the car should idle smoothly and not notice the engine. If I put in N or P, I don't feel the engine running at all either through steering wheel or the seat. Is it normal? It is really annoying me since the car is less than a week old.

There are some areas like around 74 mph it smooths out where I could cut a diamond on the steering wheel. Most of the time while driving in the 55 mph range I don't notice it. I had the front tires rebalanced but they didn't seem to be the problem. Where should I look next?

The car idles pretty rough & loud but ive noticed its only when im in 'drive' with my foot on the brake, at stop signs/lights. Its also much worse when the engine is cold. It settles right down if I come to the stop and shift into 'park'. So as I roll to a stop and hold the car in place with the brake the engine starts vibrating.
I dont know much about these things but it almost feels like i'm restricting it by having my foot on the brake and the engine wants more gas or air or something (could be way off base, but thats how i perceive it)
The RPMs sit around 1,000 and as the engine idles/rumbles it gets up to maybe 1,200-1,400 RPMs which i didn't think was significant but im pretty new to this.
Forgot to mention the most important thing- there is a rumbling noise that goes along with the vibrating, again only while stopped, goes away immediately when i pull off the brake and hit the gas.
I have a 2010 Camry LE, 2.5L auto, with approx 35k miles. While driving between 65-75 mph (I don't drive above that, so I can't tell you if it keeps going), I get a slight vibration in the seat, floorboard, and steering wheel. If no one is in the passenger front seat you can look over and see the headrest and seat vibrating like a massage chair.
I had the wheels checked and three were bent (I bought it used, so I don't know how the wheels got bent). I had new aftermarket wheels installed, same 16 inch size as the OEM. That didn't fix it. I had the wheels/tires hunter road force balanced, found out the two in the back were out of spec. So I had brand new Michelin MXV4's installed all around and hunter road force balance. That didn't fix it (though it is a lot better -- clearly the bad tires and bad wheels were causing part of the problem).
I had the car aligned to perfection. That didn't fix it.
I had a rear brake that was rubbing so I replaced the discs and pads in the back, but that didn't fix it.
I've checked all the wheel bearings for any signs of being loose, but they don't shake at all when the car is jacked up.
I've checked the struts, both by bumping the car at the corners and a visual inspection, but see nothing wrong with them.
I've checked the CV shafts -- the boots are fine, there's no play in them, nothing.
I've taken the dogbone mount off and checked it -- no cracks.
I've taken apart the front brakes to check them. No problems there (they even have new discs).
I've checked the ball joints -- no play. I've checked the steering linkage -- no play.
There's no pulsation in the brake pedal.
If the car is vibrating at a lower speed, it's not noticeable. But once you hit about 65-70, it becomes obvious to the driver. I've had passengers in the car who didn't notice, but they aren't holding onto the steering wheel and pushing the gas pedal. Both give a massaging-like pulsation.
2014 Camry, 4 cyl. 65K ... Wife's car has developed a vibration that is going to be hard to get a dealership service group to troubleshoot due to randomness. I drove it for 30-45 mins today and have this description:
-Vibration, either described as a 'buzz' or a 'high frequency vibration'
-Happens in the 28-38mph range (different points)
-Under very slight acceleration. (hard acceleration efforts produce nothing)
-Can't swear to it, but feel like it is always in 'high' gear
-feel it in 'seat of pants', NOT through the steering wheel
-Is faint on sound, but you can hear something
-Is typically only a second or two
-Is very hard to 'create', but then happens unexpectedly.
-My wife first reported it to me, and I took my son on the test drive today and he could feel it as well when it hit, but couldn't pinpoint it as it comes and goes so quickly, but again, you feel it in the seat/butt more than anywhere else.
I've checked lug nuts to try to eliminate something easy and they are fine.
Since it is relatively slow speeds and under very slight acceleration, can there be a 'solenoid' that is creating a false shift effort, but just vibrates the trans instead? Without any info other than what I have stated above, I'm leaning toward transmission, but again, probably not enough info to go on....
Two cars, a Toyota Camry and a Corolla, are shaking when driving them, esp. around 35-45 mph when accelerating. This started right after a historic snow storm in Virginia that brought 24" of snow and temperatures in the teens and a bit lower. Nothing appears to be wrong with any of the tires. The shaking feels like the car as a whole; it does not really come through the steering wheel. We`ve only driven each car once since the storm.
I`m thinking this may be from all the moisture and cold. Does this sound reasonable? Do you think it might work its way out, or do we have serious problems with two different cars on our hands?
So I changed out my front brakes and rotors on my 03 camry le, and I noticed the driver side pads are more worn out than the passenger side. Also when im driving highway and coming off I notice some vibration in the brake pedal, its not all the time though. Do you think my caliper is partially sticking? I can manually push the piston on the caliper piston using a clamp.
View 4 RepliesWe've had our 2012 Camry LE 2.5L since October. In that time period we taken two 400 mile highway trips. The best mileage we've obtained is 28 MPG (hand calculated). That's all highway driving at 65-70 MPH. Needless to say, it's very disappointing. My 13 year old V-6 Mercury Sable wagon gets just over 30 MPG on the same trip.
In everyday driving it's only getting 24-25 MPG. That's mostly suburban/rural driving with some short highway trips mixed in. The car has just less than 10K miles on it, so things should be getting pretty well broken in.
Before I upgraded from my Windows Phone to an iPhone 6s, i was able to reply to a text while driving. I am wondering if this is a feature unique to the windows phone or if it is possible with the iPhone as well?
