My driver side door no longer unlocks/locks when I use either my remote or the button in the car.

View 9 RepliesI just purchased an '02 Camry. All doors lock with remote and interior door lock buttons. Only driver door unlocks with remote and door lock buttons. I have seen other posts with this issue, but not a clear solution.
View 1 RepliesPassenger side and trunk work just fine. Drivers side door no longer unlocks with the remote. Passenger side and trunk work just fine. Fresh batteries and all. I forgot how inconvenient it was not having a remote to unlock.
View 12 RepliesHave a feeling it may be the actuator or the motors in the door. One by one, the power locks on my prius are not responding to the remote or the lock button on the door. The headlights no longer respond to the remote as well. Pressing the remote just causes the car alarm to chirp 4-5 times.
View 15 RepliesI have a Camry 2011 LE (US) and it is giving me this problem for last few weeks. The doors lock fine with the key fob and the lock button on the doors however only driver side door unlocks when i try to unlock it.
The car does not has any starting problem and it still does not work when the car is started and moving. I have even tried a friend's battery to double check if its a battery issue but it does not seems like its that problem since my car starts just fine.
I have been searching on the internet for the problem and read somewhere it could be a Relay problem and i was able to find two relays in the fuse box. But I just don't know if its legit to try replacing the Relay and if yes which relay control doors.
I have a 2007 Accent SE Hatchback. The drivers door will lock but will not unlock with the remote. The drivers door locks and unlocks with the inside door switch and locks and unlocks with the key. The passenger door and hatch unlock on the 2nd click with the remote. The only issue with the locking system is that the drivers door will not unlock with the remote.
View 7 RepliesI just got my beautiful accent but the locks sometimes lock and unlock on their own! I think its just a grounded out wire. It doesn't happen all that often but I would like to get it fixed. Also the window switch doesn't work on the passenger side. The only thing that will make it go up and down is the switch on the drivers side.
View 2 RepliesWhen I use the fob to lock the '02 Santa Fe, the passenger door lock (only when hot outside) locks then unlocks. You can tell because you hear the locks cycle twice in rapid succession. If I use the key in the passenger door and lock the car, no issues; or if it's cool out no issues so something is expanding or dragging when it's hot. Where do I start the trouble shooting? The lock, the cables, the actuator?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2011 Avalon. The power door locks will all lock with the door button and the remote key. The problem is that only the drivers door will unlock with either method, what a pain.
View 8 Replies2008 Camry: The remote will lock all doors but the driver's side;BUT; the remote will unlock all 4 doors.
View 9 RepliesWhen I hit unlock on the key fob it unlocks the driver door. If I hit it twice, I still only unlocks the driver door. It won't unlock the other three doors. If I manually unlock the doors with their handles and then hit lock on the fob it locks them all.
When I got the car it worked fine. Two clicks of unlock on the fob unlocked all doors. Recently, I did replace the key fob battery.
One thing I'm not liking quite as well with my Passat as my previous car is that in my old car when I turned off the engine it would unlock all the doors. The Passat only unlocks the drivers door. I'd like to have the other doors unlocked as well for when I have the kids with me. Is there any way to set it to do this?
View 5 RepliesI recently purchased a new 2015 toyota camry XLE v6 and i love it! HOWEVER the remote start feature i have a problem with. I use the Keyfob that came with the car but i just have to press the lock button twice and hold the third time to remotely start the engine. when start the engine with the remote and it starts normally, when i put my hand on the door handle it unlocks normally but when i open the door the engine shuts off and i have to restart the engine when i get in.
No other car i know does this and its annoying. Did they not install it properly? Or can I have it programmed to not shut off the engine when i open the door and just press the start stop button when I get in like any other car. I got an excuse from the dealership that its a security feature on the car but you cant unlock the door without the keyfob being close anyway.
So a few weeks ago more (more like end of Jan) I was sitting in the car listening to the radio and battery dies... didn't know it was dead until i tried to start her up... ever since then the key fob remote only unlocks the drivers door and the trunk???
View 1 Replies2001 Sport trac ... Only the driver door unlocks, front passenger and both back doors will not unlock. I have a Fob and both unlock switches will only unlock driver door. All 3 will lock all the doors but only the driver door unlocks
View 7 RepliesI've got a 1997 F-250 that as soon as you put it in gear to go forward, the doors lock as is the norm on these "new" vehicles. My complaint is that when you stop an get out, the drivers side unlocks, BUT the passenger side doesn't. THEN invariably I go around to get something out of the passenger side and its LOCKED. That's when my blood pressure goes into orbit. A trip to my dealer yielded no cigar. He stated that some models could be tricked into unlocking, but not this one.
View 4 RepliesWhen I turn off my Ex, the drivers door unlocks automatically, but the other doors remain locked. Is there a way to program it so that all doors unlock automatically?
View 3 RepliesMy remote locks only work intermittently when I press the buttons on the key fob. The locks on the drivers door and rear drivers side door also only work occasionally. If it turns out it's the module in the driver's door, is there a way to repair it? Or must it be replaced?
View 1 RepliesI've been living with my '03 Camry for a few weeks now, and noticed an odd 'feature'. When I unlock the doors via the key fob transmitter, the doors will re-lock within a minute unless I open a door.
I assume this is a built in feature designed to stop people from accidentally unlocking their doors with the transmitter in their pocket, but it's really annoying! So first off, is this a feature, or something wrong? And secondly, is there a way to disable this behavior?
Driving today I noticed a hot smell, it went away shortly after. When I got home I noticed the electric door locks no longer function. I guess this will be a test of my 3rd party warranty!
View 10 RepliesThe "lock" button of my remote door lock fob stopped working. 2006 Toyota Matrix... I went out to my car this morning and it was unlocked. Apparently been unlocked since I drove it 2 days ago.Someone went in it and emptied the contents of my glove compartment on to the floor and opened all the other compartments, except the one for change.Stupid thief could have heisted ~$2 in quarters. I never leave valuables in my car.I could still lock the doors with the buttons on the front doors, so I went researching the remote lock receiver (one of the many "black boxes").I found out it's expensive ($4-500 new) and buried behind trim in the back of the car. This evening I was thinking more clearly and calmly so I went out to pull the trim and have a look at this module.I tried the "hatch" button to see if the separate rear glass opening latch still functioned, and it did.I closed the glass and low and behold the "lock" button started working again! Problem solved! So the remote won't lock the doors if the rear glass is not closed securely.
