I installed some 5K HID's with 35W ballasts and a relay on my 15 toyota camry SE. When I start the system, it says check charging system and once the engine starts it goes away. I initially had 50W ballasts installed but I changed it to 35W as the 50W caused the HIDs to be too bright for my taste.

2015 Camry XLE
I've had this new car (SE Special Edition) for two weeks and I've received the Check Charging System 3 times over two weeks when trying to start the car and it fails to start. My foot is on the brake when I press the Start button. Battery is OK as lights and radio work fine.
This morning I spent over an hour trying to get the car started before having it towed back to the dealer. Service promptly said the car started right up. They confirmed that the battery is OK. Dealer says they are looking further but I'm frustrated that it started right up for them.
The first two times (a week ago) I couldn't start it, I would wait 5 minutes and then it started right up.
JBL entune system sound leveler does not work on the 2015's. It doesn't have a setting adjustment ,it is either on or off. It is supposed to raise & lower the volume based on vehicle speed If it does work it is imperceptible . I contacted toyota corporate & of course they told me to ask the dealer. They have not offered any software updates for this system. I'm sure that is where this issue would be addressed. The local dealer agreed with me as well. I recently rented a Chrysler 200 and that system worked very well. It's pretty sad when something on a Chrysler works better than a toyota.

View 2 RepliesMy 2008 2wd 4.0l XLT is having a strange power steering issue. When I start the truck and back out of my driveway it feels like I have no power steering. Within about ten seconds of putting the truck in reverse the "check charging system" warning comes on the dash. As long as it is on I have no power steering. That warning stays on for about 15-20 seconds and then goes away. As soon as it goes away power steering is restored.
I have checked my battery and it is good, it is also pretty new. The power steering fluid level is good. Based on another thread that seemed to have a similar issue I replaced the serpentine belt, the idler pulley and the belt tensioner. No changes at all to the issue. My next step is to replace the power steering pump....
I have a 2003 mercury mountaineer 4.6L AWD. The other day it died at the grocery store and now won't start. All it has is the check charging system warning light on. Changed Alternator, battery and starter already and still nothing. It does start sometimes but i need to give it gas to keep it running.

View 2 RepliesAbout two months after I lowered my TCH I started getting a warning that my Pre-Collision System was malfunctioning.
I brought it into the dealer to have them investigate the issue, and after having my car for three days they said they couldn't find anything wrong with the system, and it's probably because I modified the ride height of my car.
The question that immediately came to mind was, why did it take two months for the error message to pop up? Why not right away? They didn't have an answer and just said, "If it's modified we can't do any warranty work, and can't say for sure what's causing the issue."
So I've adjusted the ride height back to stock and now I just need to take it back to the dealer to have them look at it again. If it really is the modified ride height, can i re-calibrate the sensors?
I just traded in my 2012 Camry SE for a 2015 Camry SE and heving trouble getting the text messages to be displayed through the car's audio system screen?
View 3 RepliesI have a very strange problem with my Premium Audio Entune system. While listening to the radio I get repeats of one to two words quite often.
I did notice when this happens the "HD" radio indicator comes on in the display. After a time the HD indicator goes off, and when it comes on again I get the audio repeat again.
The problem started a while after my last Toyota system update to the sound system. Is it related to the update?
I just noticed this morning that the "warning" light (orange triangle with exclamation point) is on in the Multi Info Display in the middle of the dash ONLY when the engine is off. I scrolled to it and it says "check charging system" with the battery logo. When i turn the engine on, the warning light goes away.
The battery logo does not light up where the gauges are. Does this mean the battery is okay? Its confusing and the manual does not clear it up.
Am I correct in assuming that I'm low on battery only if the battery logo lights up where the gauges are? I have no issues when starting the engine or anything.
I just upgraded my 2010 Camry XLE to the 2015 XLE Hybrid this weekend. Couple of issues... How to get the voice activated system to SEND text messages? I can receive and view them through the car display, but can't get them to respond. I get through all the prompts and then upon sending it stops and says it's not supported.
Second, what I need to get for my iPhone 6 Plus in order to use the built in Qi wireless charger that came with my car? Also, where can I get whatever it is I need to attach to my phone?
The Tire Pressure Warning System display on my XLE hybrid shows icons for four tires in a horizontal row with the pressure readings beneath each icon. The icons are not arranged in the logical layout of two by two. There is no indication to which tire an icon corresponds. In other words, if the display indicates low pressure beneath one of the four icons in the horizontal row, you do not know to which tire the icon corresponds.

It sounds like a water bottle in the cup holder when its makes that rattling sound. I was thinking it's the A-pillar cover on the passenger side.

View 14 RepliesI just got a new 2015 toyota camry with 9k miles tonight! i have the basic entune setup without the apps library thing. i noticed while i was playing lindsey sterling during my drive home that the album covers are not showing up. instead, the device icon displays on usb, bluetooth, and fm radio. The album cover box is checked on the settings screens so it is enabled. disabling and then enabling it doesn't work.
I looked through the manual and nothing seems to indicate of a way to get the album cover to really show up. i have all my music files properly tagged and the album covers came up just fine on my pioneer touchscreen radio installed in my recently sold 2001 infiniti qx4. Do I have to do a re-tag of my files to get the album covers to work or is there another workaround to this?
I have 2007 PRIUS with 187,OOO miles, I just replaced one bad cell today and the master warning,vsc,charging system warning light went off then come back on but it's charging .
All bars are green. Blue light is ON.
A few days ago my charging system warning light came on in the middle of my trip home from work.
I popped the battery out and took it to Advanced (in my other car) and they tested the battery, it was fully charged and was in good condition. So I popped it back in my car and when I started the car I didn't get the warning light on my way back to Advanced.
They tested my battery again, along with my starter and charging system. Everything looked good, except one of the terminals on the battery was a little loose so we tightened it. Next time I started my car the light was back on.
Also, I looked at the belt and it didn't appear to be cracked, but I'm not completely sure how to verify if it's in good shape.
