My Bluetooth was causing crackling and dropping of audio. I couldn't figure out what was causing it. Eventually I made the connection: the brakes. Every time I braked, the Bluetooth would crackle and drop (but not disconnect).
I purchase car a month ago certified from a Toyota dealer.
My iPhone 6 with iOS 8.0.2 was not able to play music via Bluetooth in my 2014 Camry. After installing iOS 8.1 today, I can play music and make calls via Bluetooth. This issue was also present in my wife's 2013 Accord.
View 4 RepliesI have a 5 month old 2013 I4 SE with NAV and Apps. My Galaxy SII has been working fine with it since day one; however, when I got in it today and tried to make a call, it said Bluetooth not connected. I went to setup, and clicked on the bluetooth button. The next screen has an unchecked box beside "Bluetooth OFF", and all of the options following were 'greyed out' and not accessible. Is this a malfunction , or did I inadvertently do something that I shouldn't have done? I have tried everything I can think of, and nothing changes.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2014.5 Camry SE but I'm having a few issues that I'd like to address.
My issue is, when I hook up the phone to the car's bluetooth, the car does not let me switch songs or pause/play from the car's audio system, the only thing I can do from the steering wheel or audio interface is fast forward or rewind the song but not skip the track or pause.
My second issue so far is that I can't seem to find how to set the car to turn on the map lights when the doors open. I checked the manual and it tells me that there's a switch to flip, like the dome lights in the back, right next to the map lights but there is no switch and therefore no visible way to change this. I've gone through the settings of the vehicle and I've gone to the light settings but there is nothing in the settings about it.
So my 2012 camry with the touchscreen head unit connects to my phone just fine. It streams my music just fine as well. I however hate my phone calls, texts, etc coming through the car. After my phone connects to the car, I can go to the bluetooth menu and tell it to disconnect for phone and that takes care of it for that drive. But every time I get in the car I have to break that connection.
View 3 RepliesI started using the Bluetooth connection to stream pandora over using entune lately because entune seems to take forever to start up and I just start pandora with Siri and turn to the Bluetooth input on my head unit. This worked good for a few weeks and now all the sudden it doesn't have sound.. The screen shows what song is playing and I can use my steering wheel controls to skip songs and it shows the progress bar of the song duration progressing but no sound? I have not tried it thru the entune app since this started happening so I am not sure if it works that way recently(I'm usually drivig and don't want to fumble around turning on hotspot to connect to entune).

On screen button it showing off when I touch the screen to turn on it do nothing.
I just traded my 2014 Toyota Tacoma for a 2016 Camry XSE and have been hearing some weird audio stuttering when playing audio through bluetooth. My 2014 truck streamed perfectly and now I get a half second stutter intermittently.
Currently on a Verizon note 4 with latest updates. My entune System info is below:

I have a 2016 XLE with the head unit that has nav but is not the premium JBL. My wife and I both use our phones in the car. We both have Samsung Galaxy S5 phones. I have the Entune app on my phone. My phone sounds great when I use the hands free talking. When my wife calls me from the car her phone sounds horrible. Two identical phones and one sounds great and the other horrible. Is there a fix for this problem?
View 9 RepliesI've had so many issues with audio dropping out from phone calls and streaming that I've almost thrown my phone at the NAV screen in frustration.
Background: In the 7 months since I bought my car new (2013 GS F-Sport) I have had 2 Droid Maxx's, 1 Droid Turbo and am currently on a Samsung Note 4. I've gone through hard resets of my phones, deleting the phone from the car, changing apps in use, trying to use the car with after a reset and removing most stock apps. I've also mostly disabled the text message and email options as it doesn't work consistently, and I don't need people in my car to see when I get texts.
Each of the phones has has issues staying connected to the car. About 30 seconds after dropping the car will register the loss of the bluetooth connection. The worst part is I can go hours without a problem, then I'll get 1, or I'll get a problem every 4 minutes until it suddenly stops.
I've called Lexus a three times are had a few different answers. At first they told me to always drive with the wifi disabled and that should fix my problem. Then they said to have the dealership check my firmware. The dealership said my firmware dated 2012 is the most up to date (sounds like a load of BS to me). Most recently, they said there is an error in Android 4.2's kernel that screws up bluetooth. Now all of my phones have been on Android 4.4.x since I bought the car, and Lexus said they aren't aware of any issues with 4.3 or 4.4.
My coworker follows the same phone upgrade path as me (Maxx, Turbo and Note4), and he has never had a dropout issue on his 2014 X5, so the kernel issue doesn't seem to hold water.
Lexus made it sound like this is a WIDE spread problem, but not one they need to fix. Also what firmware version are you running in your 2013 GS?
I have 2015 Camry LE trim. Whenever I start my car and connect Bluetooth, music starts playing automatically. Bad thing is it keeps on playing when I am navigating using Google or Apple map. It will reduce volume momentarily while a navigation instruction is being played and start off again. I can't turn it off completely while navigating. If I hit pause it will stop until the next navigation instruction is played. After an instruction is played music starts again. I just can't turn the damn music off! It's not just the Apple Music app, I have another streaming music app. If I'm listening to that app before entering the car, it somehow starts playing music from that app.
View 10 RepliesI bought brand new 2013 Camry SE yesterday night..it has been just 15 hours since I bought it..today morning when I tried to pair my phone with car multimedia system...it showed the screen that it is connecting and the little circle on the top right was moving in circle as if it was trying to connect and all of a sudden it just got hang up...right there....its not going any where...now.
Is there a way to reboot this multimedia system (just like you can reboot computer or phone)..??
I tried turning car on-off...tried setup -default on bluetooth settings etc...but no luck.
I have a 2013 Camry XLE with navigation. About 6 months ago I got an LG G3 phone which I was able to pair with the bluetooth and everything worked fine until recently. I can make out going calls with no problem but when I have an incoming call the system won't pick up the call. When I use the answer call button on the steering wheel or on the nav screen the phone stops ringing but I can't hear the person on the other end and they can't hear me. I have removed and added the phone several times and every once in a while it will work but then it stops again.

I'm using an Android HTC Incredible now, and after Toyota's last update, the entune apps have worked great over Bluetooth. Might go with the Galaxy S3 if the iphone still has to be tethered with a USB cable.
View 14 RepliesFor 2 years I've had no issues connecting my bluetooth to my Samsung Galaxy 4 phone. All of a sudden the screen on the Camry shows that it's not paired with my phone anymore. I go into Bluetooth setup and the area where you add a new bluetooth device isn't even allowed. The only option on the Bluetooth screen that's allowed to be touched is the "paired devises" line. My son's iphone still shows up and my old phone shows up. I wondered if it wasn't my phone but then when I go back to install a new bluetooth device it won't even let me.
View 7 RepliesI just picked up a 2013 Camry SE with the display audio system today and I am tickled with the car so far. I paired my Iphone 5S to the car over bluetooth and the car uses the phone fine - better than fine, it's great - and the music plays, so far so good. Except I can't browse the music selections through the dashboard monitor when paired on bluetooth - those buttons are greyed out. If I use the USB cable, then I can control the music selection with the dashboard. Is this how the system is supposed to work? I have installed Entune on my phone and created an account. I have IOS6 on my phone.
View 14 RepliesI just got a new 2013 Camry SE with the basic (non-nav) touch display and the Galaxy S3 registers and will play music and display the artist and track name most of the time.However, I have no option of looking at the artists or selecting albums. The right and left buttons on the wheel controls do nothing, and I can only skip forward and backward one track.
On page 54 of the display manual, it shows a browse button that is not there on my screen. I cannot get track lists of any kind. I should also note that the song progress bar is not displayed as it is in the picture.
Is there a certain app that I can use that would make the phone more compatible? I'm a bit shocked that a phone as commercially successful as the S3 is not working properly with a 2013 vehicle.
I recently purchased a 2015 Camry XSE on November 23rd. I have the Entune Audio Plus system in my vehicle. The first thing I noticed while driving home is the music I was playing through Bluetooth was changing pitch constantly. The closest thing I can relate it to is a cassette tape being slowed down with dead batteries. It's brutal. My mom bought a 2015 Rav4 on the same day as me. For the past month I've been doing nothing but trial and error. Here is what I have come up with.
My radio while playing bluetooth skips, speeds up and down (pitch change) and gets really bad static. Also, when I use the steering wheel controls to change the song it changes the song INSTANTLY. In my mom's Rav4 and my friends 2015 Corrolla, it plays for about 1.5 seconds before changing to the next song. This is the buffer being played out. Mine doesn't create a buffer and is playing the data stream in real time. If any interference happens or the clock rates change it gets reflected in the pitch.
Now, I called Toyota and explained it to them. They had me read what audio version I had in my car. It says "0744". It listed two items, Audio and Operating System. The rep on the phone was taken back and said NOTHING was installed on that radio. What is supposed to be listed is bluetooth drivers, kernel and a couple other things. My audio version should say DU.60.74. She told me to take it to my dealer and they will update it through USB and it only takes a couple minutes.
I just bought a 2013 Totyota Camry LE. Everything is great so far besides the bluetooth. I do not have problem connecting but when I connect my phone via bluetooth while streaming radio like pandora or iheartradio or even local files, I cannot skip tracks using the controls on the steering wheel. Also there is no next/previous track button on the touch panel. Am I doing something wrong or was it how this system was designed.

View 8 Replies2012 Camry LE. When I am already talking to someone using the Bluetooth and another call comes in, I get a Caller ID pop-up on the screen along with a green phone and a red phone. Neither button does anything. There doesn't seem to be any way to switch to the second call. I can't even end the first call. It's as if that second call has disabled all functionality of the screen and steering wheel buttons.
