I just installed a back up camera - great picture clear day and night but the problem I am having is the guidelines on the camera don't line up with the side of the car, the driver side seems fine but the passenger is around a foot short, I have mounted the pavement twice so far.

View 14 RepliesOur 2012 camry se had a problem with the fuel pump running when the engine was off. Several hours after we came home I went into the garage for something and heard a humming noise. First thought was a distant neighbor using a leaf blower, then realized it was coming from the rear of car. definitely coming from gas tank area. Turned key on, then off and noise was gone.

I have read that many people have added backup cameras to their SEs or XLEs with navigation systems but I wasn't sure if it was possible on a basic LE with no nav. If it is possible to add a backup camera to an LE, which brands will work and where can you typically get them installed?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2012 camry hybrid that had the stock push button radio and I wanted to add a backup camera. So I picked up a 2013 camry entune display head unit to replace the stock one without a display.
The backup camera does not work when the car is in reverse and I see that the mpg and other data does not update on the radio display, although all of the same data is displayed on the instrument cluster.

How to disable those really useful messages like "phone connection successful" when using the backup camera?
Being sarcastic but I think those messages are actually a safety hazard when using the back up camera since they just pop a take up a lot of screen real estate that I would rather see used to see if I'm about to hit some car or pedestrian.
I did a sub and amp install on a friends '14 SE with the upgraded stereo with DSP. I ran the line outs off the front channels, like I did with my standard stereo. Should I have ran the line out off the rear channels? I know that they cut off the bass signal to the rear speakers on the standard stereo, and that alters the signal going to the line out. Is the opposite true on the upgraded stereos? Do they cut the bass output on the front channels instead of the rear?
View 2 RepliesI just bought a '12 Camry SE. However, the belt line molding (shiny trim piece below window) is dented in. How can I safely remove the piece without damaging anything? I may be able to knock the dent back out of this piece after removing it. Any specific tools required for removal? If I purchase the new molding from the dealer it will cost about $100, which I would like to avoid.

I just changed the oil and filter for the first time. The good book says the capacity is 4.6 qt. I did that, started the engine, let it circulate then shut it off for a half hour. The dip stick shows about half way between the full and add markers. So, seems like the capacity to the fill line is more like 5 qt.
Today morning, when I started the car and backed out of the garage, the rear view camera display was not lit-up. Normally as I get out of the garage, it senses the change in outside lighting & changes the brightness of the display automatically.
After backing up, I put the car on Drive and then on Park, but the display was totally blank. No audio nor response by touching any buttons. Then I turned off the car & restarted it.
Then the display came up, but with this weird looking screen, which I have never seen before in the 5 months that I have owned this car..
It lasted for about 30-40 secs, with the progress bar moving all the way across. Then everything was back to normal!.
I have a 04 camry and this car leaks gas after i pump about line before the full line. What do i need to do?!
View 2 RepliesI feel with the new design and everything being taller (doors, hood, dash) that you're forced to sit up higher. When I put it in my normal seating position, thigh support quarter way up, and back tilted a bit back, I can't see well over the sides or front. I'm 5'10 with a longer torso.
View 7 RepliesMy Car has 86k miles on it. I went in last week to get the Torque Converter warrantied and replaced. It would shudder when slowing down back into first gear. After I got my car back it seemed to be worse than how it was, also the alignment was terribly off... I called the service manager, he told me to bring it in the following Wednesday... Over the weekend the car stalled 3 times.
I pulled codes P1603 (Engine Stall History) and P1605 (Rough Idle/Knock Control CPU) which were VERY generic. They also broke my Intake Air Box Clips and Latches. I dropped the car off for 2 days and got a free TRAC (Toyota Rent a Car). After picking up my car they said it stalled 2 more times... They told me they realigned the car and reset the ECU, but they should have reset the ECU after the Torque Converter Replacement. It also threw a P0302 too. It still shudders when slowing down till this day.
Is there some sort of number I can call to talk to Toyota Direct and get this situation solved? Dealer doesn't seem to care...
This really isn't the first time I've had trouble with this Dealer. I had an 04 Solara go in for a Dash Replacement and they scratched the Radio and put a hole into my tweeter. This 2012 Camry went in for an Airbag seat sensor recall and the hit it against another car. It left a terrible dent. I don't want to have a transmission failure prematurely...
Something strange happened the other evening while driving. I'll just lay down the facts: I picked up my kid from class. When we got in the Prius there was a song I turned it down kind of fast.
It had rained earlier and there was a puddle at the curb. I slowly went through it and into traffic and accelerated. The music stopped and I looked at the display. The back up camera was on and I was looking at the road moving behind me. It flashed a few times then went black.
I pulled over and turned off the car. Turned it back on and all has been OK since. Just weird that it would do that all by itself.
I didn't "blast" through the water.

View 2 RepliesSo I was doing a little plasti dipping today and in between layers decided to try and clean under the hood. On all the plastic I just used armor all wipes. I didn't take a before pic but I wished it as it was all covered in pollen. Those parts came out great. I was just wondering is there anything I can do to get the metal back to shining?

Does this happen to you and is it normal? This is my first new car and my old car which was a 94 lincoln never did this even on very steep hills.
