I just bought an SE Limited, Barcelona RED. I love the car, but I'm curious as to the air vents. I have noticed that even when the fan speed is set to "off", I can still feel some air come out of the vents. If i change the temperature dial to hot, the air the faintly comes out warms up. Is it normal, to have air come out of the vents even when the fan is set to "off"?
View 13 RepliesI've had this 2012 SE I4 for about 6 months, but since it has been cold, I've noticed that when switching heat to floor vents only mode, that most of the air still flows through the upper vents (I'd estimate about 50% still flows through the upper vents).
I've taken a thermometer and read 80F coming out of top vent and about 60F coming out of the bottom.
When driving my face/body feel like they are on fire but feet still remain cold. Took to the dealer and they said there is a temp/and airflow difference but appears normal.
If this is normal, it is totally different than any other car I've owned. Does most of the air still come out of the upper vents when on floor vent only?
I have a 2012 Camry SE I4. The problem is my car speed odometer is faster than my radar detector speed. I have 2 detectors and they are both not show the same speed compare to the speed odometer. For example, I am going 70mph, the detector reads like 67-68mph. So the speed odometer is off about 2-3mph. I have OEM size on my car. I know the GPS on my detector is more accurate. So my speed odometer has problem?
View 14 RepliesSo, one of the features in late model Toyota nav systems is supposed to be the ability to have the speed limit displayed. I've come across a bug (admittedly, others have too in other vehicle forums) where the speed limit isn't displayed unless you set a destination. After you do, the speed limit for the road you're on will be displayed if you have it turned on in the options menu. If you reach the destination or delete the destination and continue driving, the speed limit will stay on the screen, as it should have been the entire time. Once you shut off the car and turn it back on, the speed information is gone again. Repeat the destination, then delete, and it's back.
I went on their website and reported the bug last Friday and got a call this morning from Toyota. They are having me bring my car in so someone can inspect it next week. The more squeaky wheels...
For reference, I have a 14.5 with the JBL and nav. I don't know for sure if other years are supposed to have this feature. I found the button in the options button at the top left of the nav screen. '15 Highlander people are having the same problem, and I'd guess the '15 Camrys are as well. I'd guess the software driving the units is pretty close to identical.
I have a 2014 Camry and the other day i went over a 15Mph speed bump while going a little over 20, after the front end went over the bottom of the car BANGED on the bump.. Now I don't know if it was the frame that hit or something on the bottom Like the gas tank and its stressing me out. I checked to see if there are any leaks but didn't see anything.. Is the gas tank vulnerable to things like this or is it high up and protected?

When I first got my new 2012 Camry, I noticed ECO light would come on mostly on the highway when I reached certain speeds, and seemed to come on more when I had air conditioning on.
However, now it seems more often the ECO light is on all the time, even when I come to a complete stops. Just wondering if this is normal or do I need to take it in to be checked out or what?
I know ECO mode works with speeds and air conditioning. I do notice when ECO light comes on, the AC doesn't seem to be as cold.... I want my AC working as cool as possible!!! It's constantly over 100 degrees here in San Antonio in the summer.
I have a 2012 camry se v6, with about 56k miles. It has been lowered on H&R springs since 20k miles. I recently got new rims, but used my old tires. I developed a high speed vibration. I got it aligned twice, and balance twice. But i still can not get rid of this vibration?

I notice this every time I make a U-turn or when I'm in parking lots where a higher radius of turning is involved; both at low speeds (probably around 5 mph)
Tires are the Michelins that come from Toyota. Thread is still at least 90% according to my previous service record about 4 months ago and I don't see any abnormal wear on the tires themselves. On another note, I have these same tires on a 2010 Sienna and they do not make any of the noises as stated above.
I've noticed that when I'm coasting to a stop and my speed gets to about 27 MPH, the transmission downshifts (RPMs increase) until I reach about 22 MPH. I'm not applying the brakes at the time.
It's a bit annoying as it sometimes bleeds off just enough speed that I need to accelerate to reach the point I was planning to stop at. Is this normal?
When applying brake in a traffic at low speed, I found there is a jerking movement forward of the car. I need to apply harder so the car can stop completely. No problem at high speed on highway though.
View 14 RepliesMy question today has to deal with my squeaking car. Only mods I have done to my suspension would be Lowered on Progress springs and added there rear sway bar. After about a year my car started to squeak when going over speed bumps or certain dips BUT ONLY THE REAR. I have tracked the problem down to my rear sway bar. What is the fix for this? Ive read in other forums (mainly civic teggys etc) that the bushing might be worn? What is my recommended next step?

I went over a speed bump at around 30 MPH, and as the front wheels went up to the top of the speed bump, I heard a definite sound of hard contact coming from below the front portion of the car, possibly near the right wheel. The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't followed by any other sound. It was just "bump."
The car seemed fine after, and I drove for another five miles or so noticing anything different. I looked under the car, and I didn't see any signs of damage. There was some water condensation dripping down, but I think that's just because I had been using the AC. Do you think I have any reason to worry? What signs should I be on the lookout for?
FYI, the speed bump was one of those wide ones with a gentle curve. It looked like a slight, gradual elevation in the road, and the paint had washed off. So I didn't see it. It wasn't a narrow speed bump that you have to slow down to 10 MPH for.
I got a used 2012 Toyota Camry LE a week back, and I could feel that my Car Pickup speed is very poor and its struggling and jerking to reach 40 miles/hour speed, once reached 40 miles/hour then it runs smoothly.
I don't throttle more after a complete stop , but i could not see a smoothness or easy moving with my car. When I get to service station , they say its normal and they are saying i need to throttle more to get the right gear, as camry is designed like that.
2012 SE with 4 cylinder 35K miles. When the front wheels go over a speed bump at a couple of miles per hour I get a noise which sounds like something hitting the floor board of the car. It is a loud single thud. Much deeper and louder than a loose seat would make.

Lately, I have been noticing this vibrating/shaking in the front of the car when I'm coasting or accelerating at a slow speed. What it could be? I got my front end alignment done thinking it could be that but it still continued.
View 7 RepliesNearly new Camry with 9,000 miles. When trying to get back up to speed after making right or left turns, there is a definite hesitation before accelerating. No hesitation when accelerating from a dead stop. Also transmission kicks down at very small hills/grades where if not on cruise control, it would not need to "kick down" to maintain speed. This is a 4 cylinder engine and provides adequate power when not running in "cruise". I suppose this is just the nature of the breed. Except for these two small problems, it is a fine comfortable car.

At first everything is great which it STILL is but lately I've discovered that I'm hearing a weird & SERIOUSLY IRRITATING noise/sound/rattle! Every time I drive between 10mph-40mph and it gets rapidly fast as I increase speed.. thats the RATTLE noise. I did my research and it said it can be a loose bolt or a loose heat shield underneath but I'd like some advice from Toyota Nation. Also when i make a slight turn I hear a weird clunking or some weird unexplainable noise. View 1 RepliesI've got a 2012 Hyundai Sonata LTD and have been loving it for the past year (bought it certified pre-owned last February). I've noticed, however, that there is a clicking coming from the passenger-side AC vent or general passenger-side dashboard area. It seems to be somewhat tied to whether I have the air recirculation (outside air) button turned on or not. I typically use my front defrost a lot, which, when enabled, shuts of the air recirculation button. This seems to encourage the clicking sound, whereas if I turn on the air recirculation, the clicking eventually goes away after the car warms up and after ~10 minutes.
From my internet research, it would seem that other types of cars have reported a similar issue and it's been attributed to either a bad actuator or something called recirculation failure. So my 2012 GTI (2DR/6spd/Nav) has a crackling/static sound coming out of the passenger vent.
I took off the vent and the side panel of the dash and took a look around, and can't find anything that causes the sound. It's sounds like static, and it pops and crackles.
It happens particularly on rough roads, and it's driving me insane! I wouldn't mind it so much if I knew what was causing it.
I recently purchased a 2012 f350 power stroke. Love the truck but went out this morning and the air would only come out of the vents. I couldn't get anything out of the defrost or the floor vents? Truck is out of basic warranty so want to see if I can figure this out myself or if it needs to go in the shop.I've looked for a fuse but didn't see anything that ran an actuator door.
