I know there is an Option to adjust the beeping sound when Lock or Unlock Doors (I tried that already). But Is that possible to make the Beeping sound really loud..I mean loud like honking the Horn. Know what I'm talking about?
On the 2001 Nissan Xterra, when I Lock the door ..sound like the horn.
I took my 2005 V6 'Reg into the dealership for service. It has about 6700 miles. The problem is it sounds like the amp is 'clipping', which means there is a loud electric 'thud' sound when I lock/unlock the doors. While there I asked the service advisor to do all applicable TSBs and informed her that sometimes the CD player won't eject the CD. Lastly, I advised them that the wipers made a really loud sound when they wipe.
Well, this dealership does not have loaner cars available. They have outsourced them to Enterprise Rent-A-Car. The dealership will pay $30 per day and I am responsible for the taxes, which are 15% of the $30 per day. Is this fair? I don't think I should be responsible for paying taxes for a rental car (a Mitsu Lancer or VW Jetta were my two choices, no less).
My first question is, if it's possible to switch the beep-sound on, when locking or unlocking my doors by the remote. I think in the US its common to hear a sound when locking. Here in Austria it's forbidden (noice level), but I want to have that sound. Is it possible to engage it? Or is there something missing in my 2002 Camry?

Also, my window lock button locks all of the window roll down buttons in the car except the driver side window button. It even locks the window buttons on the driver side door. Why in the world would it be useful to lock myself out of rolling down a window? Is there any way to fix this so that I can roll down the rear or passenger windows while they are locked for the kids in the back?
My camry has been giving me this issue for last couple of weeks. The door will lock correctly using the key fob and by pressing the buttons on door of drivers + passenger. But while trying to unlock only the driver lock unlocks.
The car does not has any starting problems and I even tried a secondary battery to see if its a battery issue. The issue remains the same even the car is started or moving i.e. doors will only lock and will not unlock.
Someone said the Relays might have a problem and I was able to locate the two relays in the fuse box but I am not sure which one to pull out.
Got an 04 Camry SE that will not lock the doors. I can unlock the doors from the switches inside the car, drivers and passenger side doors, and also with the fob. The LOCK function does not work from any source, door switches or fob. The problem relates to all 4 doors. I've been having to manually lock the doors when I park the car. I've read people having issues in hot weather and also when it's wet, but my problem is all the time. Hot, cold, wet, dry it doesn't matter. Also I don't hear any noises when trying to lock the doors telling me that it's even trying to lock.
View 1 RepliesStrange problem. 2006 4 door Camry. Only the drivers door unlocks when using remote or the unlock button on the door panel. The three other door have to unlocked manually. All 4 doors lock with the remote or the button on the drivers door normally. Not sure if this is a door switch problem or a remote problems or how to further isolate this?

Kind of wondering how this could happen, but since I like it that way I don't really want to change it back. Is there a way to toggle this and can I change it so that rear doors and hatchback unlock also when I turn the car off?

The only thing that happens when I touch the front passenger door handle is that the back doors will unlock. I have to enter my car through the back doors, and unlock the front doors manually. Also, by touching the passenger door handle, I get a series of beeps (3-5). What may be causing this, and how to fix it?

View 13 RepliesI traded in my '03 Camry for a '16. In my '03 Camry, if I did not lock the doors after closing them and walking away, they would automatically lock after 30s-1min. I can't seem to get my '16 Camry to do the same thing. I found the "Auto Lock Timer" feature in the "Vehicle Customization" of the ETune Audio System display. I tried setting it to 30s or 60s and standing outside of the car, but the doors do not lock, even after 5 minutes. What I can do to get them to lock automatically?
View 14 RepliesThe dear wife crashed our 2004 Prius, crumpling the entire bumper and left front side. The body shop has fixed everything nicely, with one small exception. There is no longer the reassuring beep(s) when using the fob to remotely lock or unlock the doors. The lights flash, as before, and the panic alarm still works.
View 2 RepliesMy FOB doesn't work locking/unlocking my '06 prius. I use the embedded key to lock. When I want to lock it, I lock it from the inside.
a. I know the door lock actuator motors are not bad because I was able to lock it from the inside using the lock/unlock switch on the driver side door panel.
b. I checked the voltage on the AUX battery. It read 12.4v. So that is not the problem.
c. Key fob battery strength is good (I see the red LED every time I use the remote).
d. I don't have a SKS system so no switch exists to enable or disable the SKS under the steering.
While on a recent vacation, my sister-in-law, trying to do a good thing, washed my clothes but neglected to remove my FOB for my 2008 Prius. I returned home only to find that the FOB would not lock/unlock the doors.
I replaced the battery (the old one was reading only .03vDC) but still no remote lock/unlock.
How can you tell if the FOB is working since there is no "little red light" like I have seen mentioned by other owners
It looks as if the FOB should be watertight, is it? Any way to clean inside the FOB in case there is some corrosion? What should be my next step?
My daughter picked up an 08 Base, option package #1 yesterday. It has 166K miles and checked out okay by me (coolant moving by inverter pump, no signs of water in spare tire well...etc.). The car only had 1 key fob (non-SKS) wit no spare key or fob. The key is uncut but the remote starts and runs the car. The remote will not lock or unlock the doors.
The first thing I did was replace the CR2032 battery with no change. It still operated the car but not the locks. I noticed that the little red light wasn't coming on when pushing the buttons and found the red panic button was stuck. Took care of that and thought all was good until I tried to lock and unlock the doors again. Nope! Light comes on, works in slot to start the car, but not the locks.
I have a 2007 Santa Fe and recently both rear doors don't respond to the car remote and even to the driver-side control panel on the door. The only way now to lock and unlock the rear doors is to manually do it from the inside. Both front doors are fine. What could be the problem with the rear doors? Is it just a fuse? Or do I need to open the door panel and have a look inside? If I do need to open the door panel, looking for instructions on how to open it.
View 26 RepliesSo lately when im driving my doors will lock and unlock at rapid fire and even though it only happens sometimes its getting really annoying. So when i took the car in for an oil changed i asked the tech to look at it, they said it was a module in the door that would need to be replaced for $375. I was wondering if there was a way to just shut of the lock feature when u reach a certain speed and the unlock feature when you stop? i think that would fix the problem
View 4 RepliesI just bought a used 2005 from a small dealership just today.. It does not have SKS (no black buttons on the door handles).. But, the dealer said it had a key problem, so he discounted the price.. He said that the keyfobs can start the car, but can't lock/unlock the doors.. He gave me 2 keyfobs, but I'm not even sure if either of them are the original ones that came with the car.. I think they might both be used keyfobs from other cars..
In other words, I don't have a master keyfob that can unlock the doors yet.. I always have to take out that darn physical key to unlock it every time..
I've looked around lots of threads already, and all it does is confuse me..
I know you can do some weird "chicken dance", but it seems like you already have to have a master keyfob that can unlock the doors, right?.. And I know there are "2 sides" to the keyfob: a "prox" one, and some thing else (I forget)
My doors are locking and unlocking while driving down the road.
