View 9 RepliesWash the car today, unfortunately found the driver side doorsill start to have some rust, and luckily the rust only found at he driver side doorsill rest doorsill looks fine.
Don't know what to do now, get it painted? or just grease it will keep rust from spreading?
My 2014 Camry XLE has the drivers side door rattle. What is it inside the door that rattles?
In comparison, my 2012 Corolla LE was built in Japan and was just as quiet as a mouse inside.
This is the only rattle. So small and so persistent. It comes and goes, sometimes lasting an hour, but when it is gone it is definitely gone.
I can tap on the panels, open and shut the door, run the window up and down and yet it continues to rattle. Then, all on its own, it disappears. Sometimes for days without making a peep or a squeak.
It is not the Seat belt, nor is it anything attached to the seat belt. (If anything should be rattling it should be at the seat belt pillar adjustment).
My rear windows, driver's side mostly was stuck...on and off, mostly off...since I bought Kitacamry 2 years ago, and discovered this...(for search engine users the title identifies potential sources for the problem)...
The windows were so snug that they stuck to the rubber if not used much, and here in south Florida they're hardly used, and often would not roll down...sometimes they would but not always...dealers thought it was the motor, or the regulator or the switch...and who could blame them?
I've discovered that it's not the regulator, and that the motor was just not strong enough to "break the seal" of the rubber.
I recently had a regulator repaired (a screw was loose) and noticed that the shop sprayed the rubber with silicone and that made the window glide much more smoothly...soooo....
I sprayed the other windows' rubber seals...and WOW....all open and glide down and up smooth as silk...If your windows are stuck....give silicone spray a shot...
I hope this car isn't going to turn out to be a regret.. I've had it a couple weeks and have nothing but minor issues.. Now the rear drivers side tire is leaking air. I really don't want to bring a car with 500 miles to the dealer, I don't trust them. I could take the tire off and bring it to a tire shop but what could be the cause? I have no vibrations so I wouldn't assume the wheel. From that I can tell it doesn't look like anything is sticking out of it..
View 7 RepliesI put lowering springs on a few months ago and a pop/clunk has developed. There is a tiny lip of pavement just past my garage door and it clunks as I back out at an angle over it. Worse case I can check the torque on all of the bolts.
View 2 RepliesI am a new Camry owner. I am very pleased with the vehicle so far, but I've noticed a strange buzzing/static sound coming from my driver's side front door.
I checked to see if anything was in the storage compartment on the doors (all of them in fact) but I saw nothing in there. I turned off the stereo system and I double checked that all the windows were closed, yet the sound persisted for about 5 minutes. This has happened intermittently for several days now, and seems to happen whenever I go over some rough surfaces.
I purchased a 2012 Camry SE V6 end of December 2011. I really like the car's performance but have an annoying issue.
Above the driver's position, I hear short popping or cracking sounds when the car is moving and going over bumps or when the road twists. This sounds like a body structural issue and comes from the roof area to the left of the sunroof. This happens less often when it is sunny and more often when it is not sunny so the cooler metal may be the issue. The noise sometimes stops altogether when it is sunny or after the car has been driven for an hour. Once it sits for a couple of hours on an overcast day, the annoying pop/crack will start up again.
The door panel was replaced but the problem continued.
I just noticed that the material (cloth) on the driver's seat (8-way power) on my '12 SE is splitting at the bolster on one side. This is really disappointing as the car is 2 years and 9 months old and only has 3800 miles on it.
View 14 RepliesSo I have finally solved the rattle that has been seemingly coming from my driver side dash speaker. I'm not exactly sure which of the 3 things I did fixed it, but it's fixed.
First, I removed the 2 10mm bolts securing the speaker and removed the wiring harness. I noticed that there are 2 metal clips that those bolts screw into and they are loose, so I took some electrical tape and just taped over them to keep them from rattling.
Next, I found the wire for the speaker has a plastic shroud around it that is very stiff and could make noise, so I wrapped that with electrical tape as well.
Finally, the thing that was most likely the cause of the rattle was a loose wiring harness attached to the firewall. If you reach into the speaker hole you will feel the harness just under the hole. Where the harness is attached to the firewall it was extremely loose. I simply took a paper towel and was able to wedge it behind the harness and the firewall which kept it from moving.
Now the driver side rattle is gone, but I've noticed another rattle somewhere else near the center/passenger side of the dash. Every time I fix one rattle I seem to find another. Maybe I'm being a little OCD about it.
I have a 2012 Camry LE and notice that when i open the rear driver side door, there is a clunking noise when it opens into one position. I tried greasing the hinge and it didn't make much of a difference.

I have sprayed on a lot of armor all and the dealer said they could not replicate, which I find difficult to believe. When you release the trunk from the inside, you walk back and you hear the squeaking on the driver side as you walk back.
View 1 RepliesI noticed this rattle/whistle on one of the 2012 camrys we test drove and now I am hearing it on the one we purchased. when on the highway with the radio off or down low I hear the rattle/whistle. (almost like a jacket zipper rattle) It sounds like it is coming from near the top of the drivers door.
View 2 RepliesSo, I bought a 2012 camry se about 2 months ago and as soon as I got it home I noticed a clicking in the drivers side door when I open and close it. There's three clicks before its fully open, I'm thinking that it clicks at every stop point the door has. I know there's some models that have this put it stock so the wind doesn't blow your door shut on you, is this what it is? I tried looking online about it but couldn't really find anything.

View 2 RepliesI noticed my 2014.5 camry has a loose driver's window. When rolled down between 2 to 6 inches, it rattles when driving over small bumps If I actually feel the window, it moves about 1/8 inch to the sides when open 2 to 6 inches. I mentioned this at my one year service. The tech showed me other 14.5 SE's they had the same problem only on the driver's window. He said the dealers can't do anything about it because it is how Toyota designed the cars.
View 1 RepliesI noticed the driver side window in my car is loose. It wiggles on the track when rolled down 2-6 inches. You can also hear it in the door when the door is closed when it is rolled down all the way. It sounds like the windows on the old Trans Ams and Camros, which were always loise. It became loose between the first scheduled service and the one year service.
I mentioned it at the one year. The tech said all 4 2014 SE's had the same problem. He showed me it, too. He told me there was nothing he could do since its how Toyota made the car. And the other cars had the same problem. Since he said there was nothing he could do about it, I called Toyota to report it.
Installed eibach springs on the 7th gen camry? I installed mine this weekend, and I'm getting a like a rubbing sound when I turn the wheel from only the driver side. I removed the strut and spring combo to make sure everything was installed and aligned properly and it was. Just can't put my finger on why its only making that sound on the driver side.
View 9 RepliesI have been noticing this problem more frequently. It's been about 2 months that I noticed the car is doing this.
I would typically touch the door handle to lock the car, (hear the beep) and sometimes I use the remote at a distance to make sure I did not forget to lock it. But after I return to the car, I usually go to the trunk, to put away my briefcase, (without pressing any button). After closing the trunk, and going to the driver side passenger door(its unlocked) (no beeping sound or anything)
I have made sure several times (clicking the button several times) that I indeed locked the car. but it's unlocked. I have tested the auto lock feature on my car (locking, then unlocking without opening doors, yes it automatically locks the doors after 60 seconds).
It rained really hard yesterday. This evening I got in my car and the windows were all wet on the inside. While I believe some moisture is normal this was ridiculous. Where to check/look or what it could be. I checked the sunroof and under all the floor mats (not under the carpet; just mats)..
View 4 RepliesFront windows left open during a light overnight rain. Now all windows except driver's side will not move-- motors don't respond. I've read on an old post that they have their own switch, but does it need to be replaced (from a little moisture!) or something else? I cannot find any bad fuses, but I'm not confident I'm looking at the right one (#18, 20 amp, 'FWR Window'). 2009 model.
