I own 2016 Camry special edition, and while driving i hear something knocking sound like ping pong ball sound coming from passenger side front tire, feels like shock is not working properly, in warm weather (over 60F)it drives better no sound or anything, what can it be? Is it because of 18" tires?
View 2 RepliesHaving problems with a squeaking or ticking noise coming from the front windshield area on the passenger side? I took off the A-pillar and tweeter speaker cover, and the noise was still there. Pressing on the A-pillar did not work and it's not any of the cords or plastics in there rubbing. It almost sounds like it's behind the A-pillar. Pressing on the dash, windshield, headliner, etc. all have no effect on the noise.
I'm trying really hard to fix this myself because I'm worried about a tech tearing apart the dash trying to fix it. It might end up worse than it is now. I'm thinking this TSB will need to be done (which seems to apply to all Toyotas): [URL] ....
Next on my list to check is the passenger side mirror (make sure it's fastened securely) and also the black liner under the windshield wipers. I also have foam (like the kind you use when installing a window AC) which I may also try stuffing into the bottom of the front windshield (and maybe the top) to see if that works.
If all else fails, the car is going to the dealer I guess. The Camry is such a quiet car that the noise is really irritating in an otherwise quiet interior. Other than this noise, the car is great! Just a little bummed because my 2005 has zero rattles or noises and my gf's old 2009 also had no rattles or noises. The 2015 refresh is nice, though we're still on the fence about the front grille. My relative is waiting for the 2016's to be released later this year and then he will be buying one for his patrol car. The 2015 isn't a full redesign but it looks different enough that he wants to wait for the next MY to come out. He's dreading leaving behind his 5MT Civic but it needs to be replaced. He hasn't had an auto, ever, come to think of it..

There is a knocking sound coming from the passenger side dash board in my 2010 Taurus. I found a youtube video that indicated in was a recirculation door motor. I replaced that but the knocking is still there.
View 8 RepliesI had to replace 2 tires on my Camry recently and Discount Tire put the new tires in the back and the old tires in the front. After all was done, I drove off and there was a knocking noise coming from the passenger rear.
The front steel wheel was pretty beat up so it was making the steering wheel shake. Discount put that wheel in the back. They had recommended replacing the wheel. I picked up a new one from a pick and pull and its still making the knocking sound.
I went through the car's interior to try and eliminate anything rattling around making the noise. Checked the trunk and there was nothing that I could think it would be.
It knocks at low speeds from 5 mph all the way up to 40 mph. But once I get to 50 and over on the highway the sound goes completely away. The car does not ride rough or shakes when the sound is present.
I have a 2012 Santa FE 2.4L, I have a knocking sound happening in my front passenger side once I go over bumps. Would like some info on the different parts that can cause this.
View 10 RepliesI drive a 2013 4 door gti. Car has 4k miles. Just last weekend myself and my buddies threw my coils in. FK Silverline X plus'. I am not sure on the measurement from fender to ground but I am a finger gap in the front, and fingertips in the rear. After throwing my coils in on saturday, I had an alignment and the rear camber adjusted. Just today, sunday, while driving home I heard a weird clunking/knocking noise. Previously I drove a mk4 and I know the sound of sway bar on axle and this is not the sound. Its coming from the passenger side front.. and I can sort of feel it through my clutch and brake. After pulling the car over I checked everything I could. wheels are all tight, struts seem fine. The noise occurs continuously even on smooth roads. The knocking/popping is pretty loud and can be heard in cabin. My buddy had mentioned the guys the aligned my car might have forgot to tighten something so I am heading back to the shop first thing in the morning.

I can feel it under my resting foot while driving. I know this is vague but I think it may be enough to get started on figuring this out.
View 14 RepliesWhen I'm driving low speeds...say under 40. there is a random but frequent rubbing sound coming from the front passenger tire. Previous my driver side coil over blew out and it was replaced by VW and they raised the car. After about a week i noticed the sound. The car also shakes between 55 and 65...so i'm assuming it's a balancing issue. But can't figure out what the rubbing is....ball bearing maybe?
View 5 RepliesI have noticed only recently a strange "ping" sound that is coming from the rear driver side wheel. The sound is exactly what two pieces of rebar sound like hitting together. The car only makes the sound once while slowing down at around 3mph and once again while accelerating at the same speed. The should can not be heard under heavy breaking however. I have jacked the car up and pushed on the wheel at 12 and 6 oclock and 3 and 9 oclock to see if it was a bad wheel bearing and it was not. It is a 2010 Subaru STI with 45000 miles. I am wondering what this could be.
View 5 RepliesMy car was driving fine earlier today. I have been hearing a knocking that sounds like it's coming from the front drivers side for awhile now. I have an appointment to get that checked out tomorrow. However, today I washed my car. I washed it by hand and didn't was the engine or spray the under carriage. About an hour after I washed it I got out on the road and it started violently shaking at about 45mph. Other than that it seems to be running fine. It's not missing or making any strange noises. Why it would start shaking like this? I also need to know if I should be able to drive 100 miles to the shop where it is under warranty?

Here's the kicker: It only happens when I turn LEFT!!!! I checked and there is nothing obvious that sticks out to touch the tire when it turns...
I have an 2012 Accent that is sitting at 35k miles. I just got the 30,000 service done and a few days after I started to hear this ticking sound along with a squeak. The car can be idle or moving, squeak still there. It's sporadic though. Sometimes I can go 20-30 miles without hearing it and then all of a sudden I start hearing the ticking squeak. It sounds like its coming below the front passenger side of the car. It doesn't matter how fast I'm going, it's a ticking squeak that just comes and goes, but when it comes, it usually sticks around until I turn the car off and let it cool down. If i start the car right after, the squeaking comes back, but if I let the car cool down (overnight, for example), the squeak goes away until I drive 20-30 miles. I commute to work about 40 miles each way (80 miles total) every day so I can definitely hear it and it's bothersome.
View 5 RepliesJust became the proud owner of a used 2011 F-250 Supercab, 6.2L. Overall the truck is great but it does have a-few things that need fixing, the most annoying of which is a knocking sound from the rear passenger side cab corner. Sounds like the exhaust vibrating and smacking up against the floorboard but that's not it. Everything seems tight, even the front suspension.
The only thing I can see that may be the cause is the rear passenger cab mount seems worn. I can rotate the bottom rubber portion without too much effort and when I feel for the top rubber portion all I feel is the metal cup on the top, like the rubber has collapsed and the metal cup is sitting directly on the frame mount.
So... how many cab mounts there are for the Supercab? I think there are two on each side and two in the front. All of the information & videos I've seen describe the locations for the crew cab. Also, is it possible to replace the cab mounts and not have to mess with the ones in the front? I hear those are the real buggers.
Noticed something weird the other day I was driving into town and noticed it was getting hard to take off like the truck needed more power or like the ebrake was slightly on I get to my aunts house and notice that I can smell and feel heat coming off of the passenger side rear tire so I get closer and notice that the brake is locked up. what could cause this? and another weird thing about a year and half ago this same thing happened to my mother in law as she was driving the truck and me and my father in law replaced the brake caliper and replaced both rotors and pads on both rear tires and I used a good amount of grease on the slide pins so to keep the pins from seizing up. and now it locked up again what could cause this?
View 6 RepliesWent to dealer today for rattling noise which appeared to be coming from bottom of engine on passenger side. Dealer diagnosed bad a/c compressor and had to order. This noise has been going on for past week and noise appeared with and without a/c on and always at "idle" speed. Noise would go from barely audible to very noisy and loudest with a/c on. If I turned a/c off, noise would diminish immediately; however, still audible with a/c on. Car only has 2,950 miles and a/c works fine, other than the rattling noise at times.
View 2 RepliesI'm going to take my 2012 Camry SE in for service sometime in November and experienced a high-pitched whine (very low volume) in the front end of their car. This sound seems to be coming from the front passenger side of the car and has surfaced only within the last month or so, between 70-75 MPH. Above and below that speed range I hear nothing. This car has low mileage; after almost two years, it has only about 12,500 miles on it.
I'm wondering whether it's a trans-axle whine, but it is of such low volume I don't think it would be easy for a tech to diagnose. Also, other than the D1T recall, are there any other TSBs that I should be aware of, and any recent Entune updates that need to be applied? And, whether Toyota has a remedy for D1T yet?
I have a brand new Camry SE 2014.5 and since day one, when ever I park the car and come back after a short while or when ever I start the car and keep it on for a while, it looses water under the front passenger side. Initially I thought it is the air condition but now I am afraid that there is something wrong with the coolant system. BTW: The temperature of the engine is always in the normal zone. The car is about 2 month and 1500 miles old. What it could be?

View 1 RepliesThe sound is coming from the front passenger side. The noise gets louder the faster I go, put in neutal and noise still there press brake noise there turn wheel no change in pitch. Jacked it up and there's no play in wheel. Just changed both front wheel bearings 6 months ago.
Just changes all brakes today and got all new tires today. I'm thinking maybe the differential bearing but not sure and if so how to change it. I travel from Mississippi to Baton Rouge, LA everyday for work, about 240 miles round trip. What would happen if a bearing went out while driving 70 mph on interstate.
I was coming home from a trip and started to here this banging sound coming from the passenger side in the front under the vehicle. It already sounds like it busted up some gears cause you can here it being tossed around inside the casing. The vehicle will drive but once I get to around 10 mph it would start banging sounding like gears are messed up.
There is no binding there is nothing that makes the car slower but something is broke. I am wondering if there is a gear box under there near the center console and over to the passenger side in the front. Funny thing is... Is that it started in the back rear but stopped then the front started and then broke something. The back is fine though. Think this could be the All wheel drive also or some part of it.
