I have a 2014 camry SE 2.5 with 66.000 miles on it and been having issues since the warranty expired..... What it could be? Cleaned the maf sensor and still no luck and every time i fill the gas tank it won't start takes a while.
View 7 RepliesMy check engine light came on about 4 days ago on my 2014 toyota camry. Found the gas cap was loose that same day it came on and tightened but light is still on and Eco mode not coming on. Is it possible the problem is something else or does it take longer for the light to turn off.
View 12 RepliesFor the last few months my truck has been throwing an intermittent check engine light due to the same code every time - P0171. The dealer has allegedly checked everything and has given me the "We have done all we can do" speech. Lead tech even suggested that since today's fuels have alcohol in them, that a check engine light would be normal. The truck has been in the shop 3 times with no success or even remote possibility of what the problem could be.
The check engine light has since gone from intermittent to constant and comes back on after 5 drive cycles after clearing with an OBD2 scanner. Also, I'm now getting a P0174 code.
Personally, I think they're trying to blow me off because I'm a few months and about 2k miles away from being out of CPO warranty.
Truck is a 2013 F150 Super crew 2wd 5.0 with about 45k miles.
I recently bought a new 2013 F-150 Ecoboost 4x4. Both times I've filled the gas tank, it fills to around 26 gallons, but the gauge on the instrument panel doesn't show it at "Full", but rather around the 3/4 mark. I'm by no means a "car guy", so I'm not sure if this is part of the "break-in" or if there's something wrong.

View 4 RepliesI took delivery of my 2012 FX4 Eco in January and about a month or so later I began experiencing a loss of power and the check engine light would come on then go off again. This happened the first time in Houston traffic one day so I was pretty concerned needless to say but then it cleared itself shortly thereafter. However, heading back home it occurred again on the highway while I was trying to pass and she just didn't have the power. I took it to a Houston dealer late in the afternoon before I left but no codes were found and when I got it back to my local dealer it was determined the left side catalytic converter was bad and it was subsequently replaced. Well, it happened again and it's back in the shop while I am offshore so they have plenty of time to take care of it.

View 2 RepliesI have a 2010 camry and I am coming up on 15000 miles so i know im going to be due for another maintenance. accordingly, the "maintenance required" flasher started going off, so i thought it was all good and i should just take it to the dealership soon. well this morning when i started it up, it started flashing the "maintenance req" but once i backed out and put it in drive, the check engine light popped up as well as the traction control light (car with squiggly tire marks behind it).
View 4 RepliesWas trying to change my reverse light on my 12 camry. I wanted to make sure the bulbs were working before I put everything back together. I put on the emergency brake put the car in the on position and put the car in reverse. Went to check the bulbs and nothing. Put the old bulbs in, nothing. Started the ignition and noticed that the the check engine light was on and also the P, R, N or D was not showing in the display. Let the car sit for a while and still the the same thing. What happened. All other lights work fine.

Starts fine in the morning or if just sitting BUT when I stop and put in new gas it has trouble starting AND then when it does finally start the check engine light comes on and the code says "misfire" which I am sure is a correct code since in fact it has such a hard time starting but why? Why only after filling up with gas ? And what can I do about it ????
View 6 RepliesSo I just recently bought a 20th anniversary GTI with 80k miles on it that I'm really happy with. However, the guy who sold it to me, neglected to put gas in the car. I know that the car is suggested to take Premium, however I put Plus gasoline in it. About 20 minutes of driving later, my Check Engine Light came on, and I'm a bit worried as to what the reason for this might be. What the issue might be. I checked the gas cap numerous times, as I know that many people neglect to screw it on correctly, so I doubt that would be the problem.

Back in december I got into a front end accident, had the front repaired, (they did remove the coolant container and refilled it etch) Got my car back on December 22, coolant was full. A few days ago, checked again and i noticed the white coolant container was empty (there were some pink at a corner, i guess because the hose doesn't reach that low), i checked the metal cap, it was not "completely" empty just had a very very low layer of pink coolant. (i would say just some coolant at the surface)
I do recall a sweet burning smell maybe a month or 2 ago, but my engine light did not ever come on. When i refilled it, (my dad recommended to refill just half) I did that, a day later, i checked the levels again, it was empty again. so i refilled it to half again. i drove this morning for about 10 mins, its still at the same level (maybe i didn't drive it long enough?)
I'm freaking out whether i have been driving the car without coolant for that long, and whether there were any engine damage done (even though the engine light didn't come on) I have driven the car alittle over 5k since i got the car back.
My check engine light is on. I have a 2013 Camry LE with only 13,000 miles. I immediately checked my gas cap and found that it was extremely loose. My spouse put gas in my car a few days ago and apparently did not tighten it afterwards. I tightened the gas cap after discovering this but the check engine light did not go off. Does the light will go off eventually if the cause of was a loose gas cap? If the light isn't going to go off on its own, is there anything that I can do to reset it myself?
View 9 RepliesI filled up my gas after it was a little under half a tank . I tighten my gas cap . I started my car then out of the blue the check engine came on. I shut off car and tighten gas cap again making sure it was as tight as it could be . I started my car again and the solid check engine light stayed. It is a 2006 Nissan sentra automatic 1.8 . About 70,000 miles

Filled the tank and shortly thereafter there CEL started flashing and the car sounded like it was missing. It was towed to the dealer, and they said they cleared the light and could not get it to happen again.
When I next drove the car it ran fine for 20 minutes, then it started misfiring and the CEL started to flash. Had it towed to a different dealer, and they said the same thing. Cleared the light, but couldn't get it to happen again.
On the way home form the dealer, after about 20 minutes of driving - the same thing. Today, I started the car in the AM no light and running fine, drove around and town and in exactly 20 minutes it was misfiring again.
First dealer said it was a P0302 code.
I have had 06 passat with a 2.0 turbo. It been a great car. check engine light has come on with a few codes.
P0171 lean air fuel mixture. P2015, p2008, p0507, p2015, p2008.
Coming home from spring break towing the TT, the Check Engine light illuminates. Seems to be sputtering at idle, but otherwise OK, so we continued home.
Scanner lists the P0171 and P0174 codes. Ok, where to begin? based on internet info, started by cleaning the MAF sensor and throttle body. When I pulled apart the intake, noticed that the grommet which feeds the MAF in the air intake had become separated letting air bypass the MAF. Hence the reason for the codes.
If you get these codes, check the grommet for the wires feeding the MAF in the air intake to make sure it hasn't become separated from the intake. No more codes.
First owner, 192000 miles. Check engine light came on during last winter, I put fuel injector cleaner with gas and it went away for a while. It came back on, if i reset, I can drive for about 50 miles before it comes back on line. Also, may be two or three times a week, when moving after a stop, the vehicle stalls, i have to take the feet of the gas pedal and give gas again.
I called up the dealer asking for fuel filter and fuel injector parts prices. Fuel filter is in the gas tank and not meant to be replaced. The fuel injector I was told 4 x $155 each. For diagnostics they need $100
See attached, I was able to clean sensor 1. I could not unscrew sensor 2, the screw is rusted, plus there is no room to get a longer screw driver and turn.
2000... I have a code P0171 bank 1 too lean. My question is does this exclude anything that will effect both banks? If it was MAF sensor or fuel filter would it set code and say banks 1 and 2 running too lean? In which MAF sensor ohms out correctly. I cannot view fuel trim files. I have looked for a vacuum leak with no luck. I got some cigars to try to smoke it to see if there is any vacuum leaks. Trying to narrowing what i need to checks.
View 19 RepliesI have a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer LS/LT 4.2 liter 2wd. I have been trying to get it smoged, but can't clear the code. P0171 - Lean Bank 1.
I've been having a parts throwing contest with it, but it has been winning and my wallet is losing.
I have changed the air filter, cleaned the MAF sensor, changed both O2 sensors, changed the secondary air valve and relay. I've done the carb cleaner spray test around the intake and vacuum lines, with no spikes in RPM.
Most recent try was a couple bottles of Techron concentrate with premium chevron gas.(still waiting to see if the code hits again)
Next steps are checking the intake bolts(to see if they are torqued) and intake gaskets, check for exhaust leaks at the exhaust manifold, and checking the MAP sensor.

My 2007 Outback has had an off-idle stumble since I bought it a year ago. Otherwise runs well and uses less gas than the 2000 Forester it replaced. I've had a smoke test done, cleaned the throttle body, replaced front oxy sensor, and used a variety of gas treatments. I don't trust the local Subaru dealer to work on my car and my local garage has run out of ideas, but suggested MAF sensor may work. Some days it runs better than others. Occasionally I'll see a check engine light P0171 (lean) or P0420 (cat) but it will go weeks between setting those.
