Just purchased this car. Dome lights will not turn on until key is in ignition and key is turned to on position. Is it some thing i can program myself?

View 5 RepliesI just got a 2014 Camry SE a few months ago. I have a couple of questions. First of all, I need to know how to turn off the daytime running lights when the engine is off and I'm just parked and listening to the radio. The lights seem to be on any time the ignition switch is in any position except off.
And secondly, is it necessary to use synthetic engine oil instead of good quality regular oil of the correct viscosity? Will it affect the warranty, how about the oil change interval, etc.
I am having this strange problem with my 2014 Camry: When the door is opened, the dome light turns on but the map lights do not, unless I physically press the light cover to turn them on - and they stay on indefinitely even when the door is closed. Is this worth taking to the dealership or is there a quick fix? Strange I never experienced something like this before.

Mine has some extremely sticky substance on it and i tried goof off soap and wirebrush but it won't go away.
This a second time I am unable to turn the ignition key to start up the car. Eventually I was able to do so by exiting and entering the car, but I did not realize what is causing this type of event. Is this a feature of this car so that it is hard to be stolen? Is there anything in the owner's manual explaining what I did or didn't do to cause this problem? I spent about 15 minutes until I was finally able to start the car (using the key), but I want to avoid this issue again.
View 14 RepliesI bought a pair of LED strips that I would like to run instead of the DRLs. I want them to be on whenever the car is on. I don't have a wiring diagram, and I'm not sure where I can tap some power or wire up a relay to have them come on only when the car is on.

View 4 RepliesMy issue is i recently have put two different sets of front LED turn signals in my car and only after a day or so they blow out. When i pull out the bulbs they smell burnt. i do have LED turn signals in the rear as well they are plug and play with decoders no resistor required. For the front ones i did add 50W 6Ohm resistors on each side.

Noticed they're lights flicker when they turn off the car? It doesn't happen all the time and just kinda weird.
I have a 2014.5 SE Sport and the only thing I can think of is I always have my parking lights on (cuz I turned off DRL) but they always turn off when I open my car. Each time I try to record it, it stops doing it. It usually only last for a few seconds but just thought it to be odd.
One of my license plate lights doesn't turn on until I tap it..

I was wondering, how to access the "Vehicle" setup features within the Entune system on a 2014.5 Camry SE, WITHOUT having to go to the dealership to do so?
My interior lights do not turn on automatically when I first enter the car. I know it's easy enough to do this manually, but it's something 95% of cars do by default. Additionally, I'm one of those who likes to tinker with settings over a few days/weeks time, so I don't want to have to setup a trip and service every time I decide I liked a previous setup better than the current one.
My salesman went into these settings (on my car), so I know these settings exist and it should be easy enough to find the Contra special code to access them! My "Vehicle" settings are grayed out regardless of whether the car is turned or in accessory.
My service advancetrac light comes on about once a month, seems random but when it does the turn signals will not work, you have to hold indicator in place for signals to work-not to safe. My local dealer has not been able to fix issue...

Any parts required (relays or anything else of that sort)
I have a 2014.5 Camry. About once every month or two, when I cut the car off, the radio lights flicker for a few seconds then stops. The lights seem to flicker long enough for all of the electronics and modules to power down. I have taken it to the dealer, but since the problem cannot be duplicated, nothing has been done. Just trying to figure out what may be the cause before the car goes out of warranty.
View 3 RepliesWas trying to get a LED beacon wired in and thought we could get the switch into the dome light power up front. Not enough power to make it work. Then tapped into power to the center console/armrest power port. Now have no power to the center power port and the 2nd and third row dome lights don't work.
View 1 RepliesAccent 2012. I replaced the trunk and map lights with LEDs and they worked okay. I did the dome light last and something caused the interior lights to not come on. The light switch is set to door for the dome and middle position for the map lights. I am pretty sure I have the LED dome light polarity correct because it did come on for a bit while I was seating it.
Now the map and dome lights don't come on. I checked the 'ROOM LP 1' fuse and it looked good but I replaced it with one of the spare 10A fuses anyway. Still not working. The trunk LED does still light.
I searched this site and found in the 2007-2012 santa fe forum under 'front dome light not working when doors open' which mentions a blown diode in the dome light housing causing a similar issue.
So when I have the car running and I go to get back into the car, the dome lights do 1 of 3 things when I open the door. They either come on like normal, come on for a second and turn off, or don't turn on at all. I read something about a bad door lock module but it seemed like that was for earlier MK4s. I have an 03 jetta.
