I have doing some modifications to my 14' Camry that include the following:
I saw on a Honda Civic one day a very deep blue bulb on his factory DRL's. I am assuming it's shared with his high beams? I loved the color and I'm not worried about sacrificing the high beam for this bulb. Looking for deep blue bulbs that are plug and play for my Camry? This is primarily for aesthetics.
I was running errands yesterday, left the car for an hour, then got back in and noticed that the deep rumble of the exhaust that I love was suddenly gone. The car seemed fine when driving, but the wookie growl only showed up for a few moments. No CEL. What could be causing this?

View 1 RepliesI bought and installed stock g37 wheels today and I get vibration at around 50mph+ ! Could this mean i need hub ring adapters?? I believe the offset is 45 on the new rims. They are 18s.
View 3 RepliesOver the last two weeks I've had a couple instances where I'm moving around 30mph and I gently accelerate, you can tell that the engine/transmission is about to downshift and while pushing the accelerator just slightly you can feel the car shutter (not terribly noticeable) not accelerate as well as a noticeable amount of blue smoke will come out of the exhaust. It's happened twice now. After a few seconds the car will return to normal and the smoke stops.
Camry is a 2012 SE, 4cylinder, 31,000 miles. It's had the torque converter software update. No lights on the dash. I've also stopped after this happened and the engine sounded normal, oil level is normal.
Unfortunately my HID bulb wasn't secure in the headlight assembly and melted the part that holds the bulb in place in the headlight assembly.
My question is if that part that retains the bulb is replaceable or I will need to replace the whole head light assembly? ( The wire connector is fine.)
If the part is replaceable, What is the name or part #...
Thinking about getting a used Camry. Is there any issues with any of the years in the seventh generation Camry? What are some of your likes and dislikes of your car? For example I have been told that on the sixth generation Camry you have to remove the bumper to change the turn signal bulb. I have never had to deal with this, just what I have been told.
View 14 RepliesI have an intermittent error that comes on most of the time I have my headlights on, but sometimes goes off and comes back while I am driving. It shows me the bulb out light, and says on the screen "Number plate Check license plate lighting!" I have never touched the oem factory bulbs on the license plates, and if i get out and look at the plate, both lights are on over the plate.
The only change I have made was about a year ago, I installed an LED bulb in the trunk, and ran a second OEM trunk light in the left side and installed an LED bulb in that too, tee'd off the factory trunk light housing. But like I said, that was 1 year and 30,000 miles ago, and my bulb our error for the license plate has only just started, so I doubt they are related.
Is there any way to turn off the little green light bulb icon in the instrument panel? I run my dash light at minimum brightness and that little light bugs me.

View 7 RepliesOn the way to work this morning in stop-and-go traffic, I noticed a new, weird noise from my week-old 2012 GTI with less than 500 miles on it.
The noise happens when letting of the gas in gear. Doesn't matter what gear you're in or what the engine speed is. Around a second after getting of the gas, there is a loud, depp bass thump, almost like a subwoofer hit from a close-by car. That's what I originally thought it was, but later determined it's something from my car.
What it could be? An exhaust noise? Something hitting? Is this a common noise on the new GTIs?
So I've been finding myself lately having to press the ebrake pedal pretty deep when parking on a non leveled surface. Went to the dealer and they said this car has self adjusting parking brake........ Is this true? Do I have to suck it up? If no, how do I adjust either the pedal or the parking brake bands?
View 2 RepliesWhenever I am in a parking lot turning into parking spaces or driving slowly around or even turning into my driveway I have a deep creaking type sound that sounds awful. It's either the suspension going south, something with one of the strut bars or the bigger diameter mid pipe making contact with something when the car is turning. Car is noise free otherwise even over soles bumps, just happens to sound nasty when making turn ins going 2-5 mph.
View 7 RepliesI just bought a 2014.5 Camry SE and the day I drive it off the lot I noticed it shaking at around 40mph. I made an appt. fort the following week and they said the found all 4 tires had flat spots so they replaced all with 4 new tires. Well, about a week later the shaking started again. Now it's worse than before, especially at higher speeds. I dropped it off today.

We will be taking our car to the dealership tomorrow for cleaning... It is frustrating since it is a brand new car,and we are all suffering from allergies....
I used to drive a manual shift Honda Accord. When I was starting the car on snow, I often put the car in 2nd gear, and it was much less likely for the wheels to spin. I now have a 2014.5 SE. I believe that older generation Camry has a switch that allows the car to be start in the 2nd gear, but it seems that the feature is gone with the 7th generation. Is that true?
