I have a 2013 XLE V6 and the trunk no longer sits evenly. Where the lights meet at the back of the car the trunk lights stick out about 1/2 inch further than the quarter panel lights and the gap on the right side is much bigger than the left.
I swear I have not had any accidents or issues hauling anything that would have torqued this out of whack.
I'm trying to remove the trunk liner on my new 2013 Camry SE to get to the brake wiring so I can install a 4-pin trailer connector for my bike rack. My bike totally block the taillights when loaded, so I need some repeaters on the rack.
I removed a half-dozen push pins. There appears to be two plastic anchor hooks, one on each side of the trunk for a cargo net or something.
In addition, I removed some push-pins from the plastic trunk threshold, but it is still attached underneath. Are there pins molded into the panel on the back side or some sort of captivating device?
Getting a squeak when they open the trunk of their camry? it is really annoying. I have sprayed on a lot of armor all and the dealer said they could not replicate, which I find difficult to believe. When you release the trunk from the inside, you walk back and you hear the squeaking on the driver side as you walk back.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2012 Camry LE with about 85K KM and had my alignment done and noticed that my steering feels very stiff. When i turn it left or right I can feel it very stiff. I never thought much about it until I drove my dad's 2014 Camry which has 10K KM on it and the steering is much smoother and feels lighter. We both have the Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires and my tire pressure is around 35 psi or slightly less.
Is it normal for the steering to feel tight? When I drive the car, there is no vibration and is very smooth. I don't feel like it pulls (it never did even without it). Should I take it back to the dealer to have it looked at?
How do I go about removing the pins in the trunk lid and trunk liner/carpeting?
View 9 RepliesHave this problem? 500 miles out of warranty and my trunk release lever is broken. The button on the remote still works, but the lever on the floor has no tension on it. It feels like the cable either broke or is no longer attached to the lever.

I have a 10' kayak that I slide into the trunk for a 1/2 mile drive down my private road to the dock and I'm sick of listening to that warning beep--hoping I can put tape over the switch or something to shut it up.
I just bought a 2012 toyota camry se with smart key. The trunk button on the remote opens the trunk, but the smart key button on the trunk lid does not open the trunk. I found a brown module unplugged the the left of the seat release handles in the trunk, I checked the wiring to the switch on the trunk lid.

To make things a little more confusing is that the car does not auto lock if the trunk is closed, I know this because when I get to work I never lock my doors. The first time the car locked with the trunk open I thought I must have accidentally hit the lock button on the key, but I have tested this with the key left in the house.
View 14 RepliesI was moving something this weekend and could not close the trunk all the way. The trunk / door open alarm was beeping the whole time. I was only driving 10 minutes or I swear I would have ripped the stupid thing out of the car somehow !!!!!!
Can this beep / alarm be disabled or set to turn off after 30 seconds like the seatbelt chime?
When i go over bumps at slow speed (such as speed bumps) i hear a rattle in the trunk like something is loose. Its a deep sound like ceramic plate or a brake rotor kinda flopping around back there (not plastic creaks). Sounds almost exactly like a loose spare tire or something. So i checked it, and it was tight. Sound still there. so then i jsut removed everything, jack/tools and spare tires. Sound still there. So then i ran with both the seats down, and up in the locked positions. Def more noticable with the seats down.
It doent seem to make the noise on small sharp bumps when im on the freeway. Usually only rolling slowly (less then 15mph) over large bumps and when the suspension comes back down in rattles. I plan on bringing the car in when my work weeks over, but im wondering if theres anything else i can check in teh trunk area that might be rattleing around.
How to activate the power trunk release on a 2012 Camry L series? My car came with dealer remotes that don't have a button for the rear trunk lock which I saw is in the vehicle when I added the trunk spoiler. It would be nice not to have to open the DS door and pull the trunk release lever to open the trunk all the time....
View 5 RepliesMost of the sedans I've owned in the last 25 years had a way to prevent the trunk from being unlocked from the inside without the non-Valet key. Sometimes it would be by turning the trunk lock in a particular way, or there might be a way to disconnect the passenger compartment lever with the non Valet key.
On this base model Camry however, it seems the trunk will always unlock with the hand lever, and the valet key is only for keeping the glove box locked. Is this right?
How to adjust the trunk alignment on a GS?
My 2007, is out a little, with the RHS top edge raised around an 1/8th more than the left which is flush.
Is this a dealer only fix, or is it something that I can do?
2012 SE 4 cylinder. Noticed the other day a humming noise from under the rear trunk area, maybe an evap test, seemed to be running for several minutes, I did key on/off and it shut off. How often does this run, is it a battery drainer?

One thing I've found kind of odd is that I have a bit of a hard time closing the trunk. In most other cars I've had just pressing the trunk down gently will latch it (even if not fully closed) and it doesn't take much force at all to fully close. On my Camry, though, I feel like I have to slam it down pretty hard to get it to latch.
I have a 2013 Camry SE and I am experiencing the annoying license plate rattle at the back of the car whenever I shut the trunk or drive over bumps. It's really getting to me as of late?

I'm a new member but my rear deck lid rattles in my car and I'm not sure what it is? I've taken it once already to the dealer and it's happening again !! Every time I drive on bumpy roads it seem the trunk lid starts to rattle..
View 6 RepliesWithin one week of ownership of my new 2013 Passat, I noticed the driver's side of trunk rubbing and had techs "align" the trunk at 30 days. Before the recent 10,000 mi service, I did a walk around to see if there was anything I should have serviced and noticed the passenger side hinge was rubbing on the wheatherstrip and tore through. So, I took it in under warranty. I called after 10 days of no car; the techs apparently "realigned' the trunk and were awaiting a replacement weatherstrip. I love my B7s (yes, we have two!) but there's been obvious assembly issues (our 2012 had paint drip issues on the mirror so had that corrected without a problem whatsoever).
So, I finally got my car back from the dealership after 42 days! The service advisor told me he was fighting with VW to get the bumper replaced because there "is something wrong with it". That issue is still open, unresolved. As for the trunk hinge/wheatherstrip issue, the fix provided minimal clearance. I compared the clearance to two other Passats (one was a 2013 S that was my loaner for 42 days and the other was a new SE on the floor). Both had ample clearance. The body on mine isn't right - the trunk cavity opening is not wide enough by a mm or so. I know my lemon law rights and will be pursuing a case. At a minimum, my car was in service for a long time and that has devalued my car for resale purposes.
I heard a humming (motor) sound coming from my trunk area today. Car was off since previous evening. Sounded like maybe electric fuel pump? It stopped when I pressed smart key button and is not doing it now, but......
View 14 RepliesI am the new owner of a 2015 ES350 and I've found that my trunk can be opened using the button under the trunk lip even when I don't have the key fob in my possession (my 2014 Dodge Charger does the same thing). How to prevent anybody without the key fob in their possession from accessing my trunk?
