I just purchased a new 2013 Camry SE and I was wondering if it's possible to lower the passenger seat (no power).
My boyfriend and I are both pretty tall. I've got the driver's seat lowered as far as it will go, but the passenger seat seems really high now...
What is making the rattling noise on my 2015 Toyota Camry XSE on the passenger side?? It only happens when I drive through cobblestone roads at low speeds or some bumpy roads. It sounds like a water bottle in the cup holder when its makes that rattling sound. I was thinking it's the A-pillar cover on the passenger side.
View 7 RepliesFor the last few months I noticed that there is a rattling or clicking noise that frequently comes from the front passenger seat area but only when no one is in that seat. If the seat is being weighed down by someone sitting there, there is no rattle or clicking noise. It generally occurs when I'm driving on bumpier or textured roads. It suspect that it's coming from something underneath the seat, like the lever that adjusts the seat forward and backward underneath it.
I brought the car to a local dealership and they took a look. After a few hours with them, the car was returned to me. They said they'd found that the lever that adjusts the seat forward/backward was not tightly screwed down all the way on one side, so they adjusted that to make it tight. They also found a coin on the rail underneath that seat and removed it too. However, I drove the car afterward and it is still making the noise.
I've searched this forum and already think I've ruled out the seat belt or the buckle as an issue. I put on the seat belt for the passenger seat and the noise still happens. It's really annoying when driving on a freeway!
We just got a new 2014.5 LE, but I noticed that front passenger seat in it doesn't recline flat when reclined backwards. We also have 2012 Camry hybrid, and the difference in seat reclining between them is 3/4". 2012 passenger seat reaches back seat when fully reclined, and 2014.5 does not, it has quite a large gap. Is my 2014.5 seat defective and needs to be fixed, or are all of them are made like this now? We had two 2006 Camrys before, and in both of them front passenger seats reclined fully, touching the back seat...
View 8 RepliesI have a 2012 Camry SE and my front passenger seat seems to shake/shudder alot. It constantly shudders and makes so much noise when no one is sitting in it, that it's driving me crazy! I can't tolerate the noise of it. If I go over a bump it shudders, if i'm driving on a rough highway, it shudders and shakes so badly that I have to put my hand on it to make it stop. It makes squeaky noises as well. It doesn't happen when driving on smooth surface.
Secondly, the center dash is very squeaky, and made out of hard plastic. I feel there is no insulation behind, and thus it squeaks whenever I go over a bump. What steps did you take to resolve it?
I've been able to do a few mods to my car! My passenger side window is able to slide down, but not able to slide upward at all. Now it's sitting about 2/3 of the way down without any hint of upward movement.
It is a 2013 SE.
Could the tail lights be the results of some buzzing/static noise coming from my rear passenger side? I hear this noise when I'm on rough surfaces and it sounds like it's coming from over my right shoulder. It's a faint noise and I can only hear it when the audio is off. 2013 Camry SE ...
View 5 RepliesI've already raised up the front of the seat with thick nylon washers, but the back needs to go down more now. I'm 6'3" with a horrid back and long legs, and there simply isn't enough thigh support. (down near the knees) I need the seat to be dipped low in the back and high in the front to be comfortable. Most cars allow for my preferred position in their normal range of adjustment, however the Camry does not. My head grazes the ceiling as it sits now.
How to get that bracket chopped down about an inch? Should I flatten it out, then drill a new hole?
I'm really open to anything, even unorthodox methods, as my comfort in this seat is more important to me than how the finished product looks to a rear passenger...as long as it's still a strong mounting point.
The plastic piece that forms around the passenger seat, where the level is to adjust the seat back, has broken. It looks as though the area where the screws are that hold this piece in are not very sturdy. I have only had this vehicle for 10 months now and I am hoping that this is something that is covered by warranty.

View 14 RepliesMy '13 GLS has recently developed a rattle in the passenger seat. I know that's what it is, because if someone is sitting in the seat, or I press against the seatback, the rattle stops.
I'm sure this is being magnified by the absolutely horrible roads left behind by the "winter wonderland" we've had, but I'm not sure I can continue to drive 46 miles twice a day without thinking about running the car into a telephone pole.
First trip with the new '14ES and the wife noticed the passenger seat heater seemed to stop working after a while. Checked the on-line owners manual and no mention of a timer there (just the steering wheel timer). Searching the ES forum did not bring up the answer either but some other models apparently have seat timers.

Having issues with headliner or seat belt mounts on the B pillar vibrating? Or the passenger seat rattling?
Most of mine happens when I'm on the freeway in 6th gear around 65-70mph (where I usually sit) or when the RPMs are between 2700-3k
The headliner is particularly bad in various spots near the front sun visors.
The seat belt mounts vibrate at random times. I've tried clicking it into different positions to see if that work.
My passenger seat will rattle after going over bumps at low speed. If I stop the car and move the seat up or back one click it seems to go away, it's like it's being shaken loose.
The "airbag on" indicator light on the dash in front of the passenger seat is lit whenever an adult (haven't driven with a child yet) is in the seat. My passenger (wife) finds the light obnoxious to have to look at, and I can't blame her. The customization section of the user manual doesn't seem to address this
View 18 RepliesMy 2 door tdi is about 3 months old now. its whisper quiet in the cabin with the exception of this one rattle coming from somewhere on the front passenger seat area.
I've removed everything from the cabin to make sure something wasn't rubbing against anything but the rattle is still there. the odd thing is is that I cant seem to exactly isolate where its coming from.
I've knocked on the door panel, glovebox area and everywhere else i can think of and I cant reproduce it unless the car is driving. Where it was coming from?
Last night when I went out into the garage, I heard the sound of a small, lower RPM electric motor. After walking around a bit, I found it coming from the underside of the back of the Camry. I got in and turned the key to the "on" position and it went away. The car had been parked for about 5-6 hours. I've never heard this noise before.
View 6 RepliesQuick question about the air bag light function for the passenger seat. When no one is sitting in the seat it does not display "on" or "off" by the clock. When I sit in the seat it displays "on" Shouldn't the light always display "off" if no one or someone too light is sitting in the seat? Is this normal, or is there something wrong with the sensors in the seat?
View 2 RepliesMy 2012 XLE has about 10,000 miles on it. Today I noticed a scratch on my wifes seat about an inch long. It looked like a black pen mark. Upon close inspection the tan surface of the leather has been scratched off. I wonder how well these seats will wear.
View 11 RepliesI have a vibration in my passenger seat of my 2009 camry from when I drive on the freeway. 98% of my commute to work is on the freeway and about 99% of the time there is no one in my passenger seat. The seat is seated upright and when I look at it i see the entire seat back jolting back and forth, just enough to make a vibration and a noise. How to tighten the seat? I assume it will be tough to do and is just normal because the leverage of the seat back being so tall compared to the seat butt rest.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2013 accent and have been having and odd issue. Started a few months ago with the driver controls only being able to lower the front passenger window but not raise it. The passenger side control worked fine. Now months later the passenger control has also stopped working. If I move the switch around I can get it to move a little bit, but I really have to sit there and move it a certain way. What could be casuing this??
View 6 RepliesLately I've really been noticing these bars and sharp points being able to be felt through the seat cushion on the driver's seat. I had the dealership replace the seat cushion recently cos it was already deformed (< 2 years), and now I feel several bars through the cushion (along the seams in the seat cover). The bars were able to be felt before they replaced the cushion; I thought maybe replacing the cushion would fix this problem somehow. No luck.
To be specific, I feel these bars when sitting on the seat normally. It's getting annoying.
Passenger seat feels fine. I would be surprised if this is normal for the driver's seat, if so, *bad* seat design.
I feel an entire seat replacement is warranted perhaps. Car is still under warranty (3 years / 36K).
