The vibration on my passenger seat is at any speed I notice noises coming from the front of the car like if something is loose, I took it to the dealer and they told everything it's fine and I told them that's b.s. what can cause my passenger seat to vibrate?
View 2 RepliesI purchased a 2011 Toyota Camry LE (2.5L I-4, Automatic) about a month ago (August 2010 in Houston, TX.) Right from the day one, I noticed numerous intolerable rattles. The most prominent ones are, a clicking noise from steering wheel, especially when turning in a parking lot with vehicle not in motion, and on and off rattling from driver and passenger seat belt columns in the B pillar. Mechanically the car is average (good engine, uncertain transmission) but interior fit and finish is plain disaster.
I took the car twice to the dealer. While they refused to notice any noise from the seat belt columns, they did acknowledge the ticking noise every time the steering wheel is turned on either side. Initially they tried to identify it as the turn signal correction mechanism noise, which turns the turn signal off automatically after making a turn. I insisted for the shop foreman to take a look at it. After further inspection they said it wasn't the turn signal correction mechanism but some "normal harmless rattling" from the steering column . Is there any other Camry owner with similar problems??
I have noticed that the passenger seat has a vibration that can not be felt anywhere else in the truck. You can actually see/feel it from the drivers seat when no one is sitting in it. However, you can not feel this vibration through the steering wheel, gas peddle, door panels, etc. It increases with speed with is present at low and high speeds. My thought is that perhaps the seat is loose? When sitting in it it feels like the back right wheel is out of balance but I know it isn't (recent road force balance and feeling in all other seats confirms this). Could it be I just need to tighten the seat/tracks?

It feels like an exhaust vibration transferred through the floor connection of the seat belt. How can I get rid of it ? The vibration feels like a cell phone set on vibrating and is very annoying for the passenger.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2002 Camry (4 cylinders). About two weeks ago, I started to notice vibration on the passenger side of the car, front side, when the car reaches a certain speed (around 30-40 mph). At first I thought it was a wheel inbalance, so I took it to the Toyota Dealership and have them re-balance the wheels.
The problem, however, did not go away. I remember a while back after I got an oil change, the maintenance guy at the dealership mentioned that the motor mounts were going bad. Is it possible that bad/worn motor mount can cause vibration at certain speeds? The problem only occurs on the passenger side.
I do not notice vibration at idle (I think). I will have to drive the car again to double check this. But vibration is much more apparent when the car hits 30 mph+.
What is making the rattling noise on my 2015 Toyota Camry XSE on the passenger side?? It only happens when I drive through cobblestone roads at low speeds or some bumpy roads. It sounds like a water bottle in the cup holder when its makes that rattling sound. I was thinking it's the A-pillar cover on the passenger side.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2004 Toyota Camry 4cyl. Vehicle had ran hot. Performed the procedure and sent the head to the machine shop for the works. Replaced the timing chain and the oil pump chain along with the tensioner, rails and sprockets. Performed the timing chain procedure and even questioned the information about the counterclockwise rotation against the figures of clockwise,, but aligned all of the links to the dots on cams, crank, oil pump and crank. Vehicle spins tries to crank but, floods all of the plugs, no codes, good compression , fire and even hand rotated the crank to check all of the timing marks and all looks fine.

View 14 RepliesI've been noticing my steering wheel shakes if i normally brake going on the highway at high speed. My friend said that it's probably your brakes and rotors. Get them replaced and resurface and that should fix the problem. Can i get some confirmation before i do this?
1. I just had my tires replace at 55k and bought this car new back in feb 09. it has 62k.
2. also i've been reading up on camries fail water pump. i'm thinking of doing this over the weekend or should i just wait until i notice some leaks?
3. lastly, any major thing i need to be aware of. i've done the normal engine oil and filter change, cabin and engine air filter change, that's about it. i hope these camries are bullet proof like the old school (92-95).
I have a very puzzling issue with my 2011 Toyota Camry. Since last summer, my car has had a history of an intermittent issue with the passenger doors not unlocking; they consistently lock just fine. I have never had a problem with the driver's side door, and it is only the other three doors that malfunction (front passenger door and both rear doors). If I manually unlock the doors, I can lock them just fine via either key fob or door lock button inside the car, but then they will not unlock at all.
This issue has historically persisted for as short as a few seconds or for as long as a few weeks, and then after some period of time of everything working fine, the issue recurs. The length and frequency of the episodes have been very inconsistent and unpredictable, and the issue has now been chronic for the past two months (the longest it has ever gone without working). I have taken my car to two different mechanics and even the Toyota dealer, but no one has been able to figure out the root of the problem.
Looking for procedure how to check the level, condition and how to replace transmission fluid on 2012 Camry SE 4cyl? Is there a service manual available for download?
View 10 RepliesI started my car and noticed that something under the hood was very loud. It sounded as if there was a large fan left on high and I was right. The passenger side radiator fan doesn't come on. The drivers side does though and yet there is no overheating! Ive taken short 15 mile trips here and there but the temperature gauge stays right in the middle. If i give this radiator fan motor a good whack with a screw driver, it comes right on. What it could be? Does it need a motor replacement? Could it actually be the relay if when I give it a whack, it comes on?
View 5 RepliesPurchased a 2009 CPO from my local Lexus dealer 4 months ago. Had vibration in seat when driving at highway speed. Have had it in 5 times to be fixed. 4 times for road force balancing, fixing any imperfection in each wheel, etc with no success. Drove with GM this week and he agreed with the vibration and they put 4 new tires on (Michelin Pilot) - I paid for 2, they paid for 2. They said it fixed it. Drove it home (20 miles on highway) - did not work at all - still vibration in seat (rear end). Have put car in neutral at highway speed (drive shaft vibration?) but did not make a difference.

View 14 RepliesEach time I reach 67mph, the empty passenger seat will shake profusely and I do feel a strong vibration under the car. Once I get above 72mph, the sensation goes away. Anything under 67mph is smooth as well.
It doesn't matter if I'm accelerating or coasting, It will occur between these speeds. I assume that I have one or more tires that may not be balanced correctly?
I've been experiencing a regular feeling of the engine "missing" in my seat when in Drive, stopped at a light. I listen carefully and it just doesn't sound super smooth like my wife's Acura. The Acura has over 160k miles on it...so getting this from a new car is worrisome. The vibration is in the seat and steering wheel.
I tried different gas, higher octane, different brands - no change.
Shortly after having my tires rotation/oil change service, I noticed a strong vibration around 45 mph, enough to visibly shake the passenger seat. Other indications:
- It is most noticable when accelerating (e.g. entrance ramp), much less when coasting at 45. I can coast at 45 and when I accelerate feel the vibration increase.
- I did not notice the vibration prior to the tire rotation, so I think it is unrelated to my accident in November.
- The vibration is not apparent at all below 40.
- I had all 4 tires rebalanced (thinking one of them may have thrown a weight) and I still have the vibration.
- I do have a little irregular wear on the tires (inside shoulder).
Before I take it in and have it looked at, I was thinking of taking off one wheel at a time and testing the car w/ the spare on to see if it is one of the tires.
Any other ideas about potential problems that could cause this vibration?
My '13 GLS has recently developed a rattle in the passenger seat. I know that's what it is, because if someone is sitting in the seat, or I press against the seatback, the rattle stops.
I'm sure this is being magnified by the absolutely horrible roads left behind by the "winter wonderland" we've had, but I'm not sure I can continue to drive 46 miles twice a day without thinking about running the car into a telephone pole.
Wife is 5' tall and can't see out the windshield sitting in the passenger seat. No ability to raise seat, can go back and forth but not up. We had a 2010 Highlander SE and did not have this problem. Now she hates this car.
View 1 RepliesSaturday I picked up a set of OEM staggered 18 inch genny wheels and tires. rims are perfect, no curb rash. Tires all have about 8/32 tread on them. I mounted them myself and I had a horrible vibration that started around 50mph. Sunday I took them down to one of the only local shops that are open and have the TPMS swapped and balanced. Vibration is still there. Monday I take it to America's Tires to have the wheels and tires checked for dents, out of round,etc. and balanced again. One of the rears (245/45/18 had water in it. They removed the water and remounted and balanced it. Vibration still there. It's definitely better but still shaking at around 55-60mph. Today I went to another shop that had the Hunter road force balancer. Got all four done and alignment. Boom...another wheel had water in it. this time it was one of the fronts (225/45/18). Still vibrating.
