My 2011 camry le- I purchased the vehicle new in july and since than my audio volume drops low periodically. The ASL feature is turned off and they replaced my factory headunit once already, i brought it back to the dealer the other day and they say they can not duplicate the problem...To me and other passengers that hear it it sounds like speakers are fadign out or reception drops.

I believe this issue was present before I replaced the speakers. The audio is scratchy out of the left side only. Checked the connections at the speakers. Speakers are brand new.
My first thought is check the radio connections to the factory wiring. Is there anything else I can check?
I'm getting the right resistance at the speaker.
In addition to being scratchy, the volume is low and sound is somewhat lifeless compared to the other side.
I brought my car back to the dealer last week because my stereo volume keeps dropping for no reason while driving and I have the ASL turned OFF. the dealer said unless they can duplicate the problem there is nothing they can do. I just got the car in july...
View 1 RepliesMy prius 2008 I have been using for past 8 months or so was running fine with no issues until recently its audio system started malfunctioning. The power/disc/am/scan or volume tab won't function but it can be operated through the button on steering wheel .
After restarting car two times it started working.
I noticed since day one that my 2014 PiP radio is more static than my 2006 Prius. I also noticed that when I started moving in ev only, the radio volume level would drop. Well, I never really thought about it why till I got LED headlights. Now, the static is worst due to RF interference from the LED. So, it looks like there were more interference due to the ev electrical system. With the LED headlight, it made it worst. I have put a choke on the leads of the headlight, but it does nothing.

View 7 RepliesI have a 2010 package IV not 4 because it is a 2010 and only 2010 used uppercase roman numerals for model designation, with jbl non nav stereo. I have been having issues with the volume control not working so was looking into upgrading it to a a jbl with nav since I can get a good deal on the stereo and nav antenna. My question is will the existing wire harness support this and will a unit from a 2012-2013 fit a 2010?
View 6 RepliesI have a 2011 prius with just a regular stereo and no amplifier. the sound in the speakers go off when putting the volume up, however if I umplug the front speaker connector to the stereo the sound will work fine on the back speaker but once I plug that connector back the sound goes off. the sound to the speakers work fine with the Bluetooth.
View 17 RepliesSo I have a 2011 Camry XLE with the touchscreen navigation. For a few months now, I've had problems where all of a sudden the audio would just stop working. The screen would gray out and I can't change any of the settings even if I am parked. I tried turning off my car and turning it back on, because that sometimes fixed the problem, but now it just doesn't work at all. I took it to a friend, who is a mechanic, and he said he can't really find anything wrong with it. When I get this problem, I can't adjust the volume from the steering wheel or the main volume dial and nothing beeps when I press it, like it usually should.
A few other things to note. When it does work, I will drive normally, but if I accelerate too fast or turn too hard, it cuts off again. Is this a problem I can troubleshoot myself or should I go for an aftermarket radio? Although, I prefer to have navigation.
Is it possibly related to the blind spot detection system. I have had this happen to me once at an intersection (no lane change) and I thought someone was blowing their horn at me. My wife has had it happen on several occasions (never lane changes). This morning she was leaving he shopping mall at a stop sign and a car was coming down the cross street towards her (but not close) and there was this mysterious horn sound. I remember the salesman saying something about a warning sound when backing out of a parking space if a car was coming at you.

Wife said she heard a 'pop' on the way home from work last night and thought she blew a tire or ran over something. Nothing in the road and tires fine so she continues home. Temperatures were near zero last night.
Upon start up today, the speakers were at full volume roar with the audio off.
Turning the audio on, only changed the pitch, not the level.
I tried cycle the audio on / off but no change. Restarted car, same thing.
Let the car sit a while and restarted it to check the system codes. Same noise for a few seconds, then a sort of 'pop' and the noise stops. Radio/ CD work fine now.
I checked the system and all shows OK. It is not drivable with the roar (if it comes back).
An intermittent problem has showed up over the last few weeks that is quite distressing when it occurs.
When starting the car, the radio comes on a full volume. Turning volume control knob does not work, but only turning off the radio or turning off the car. [This only occurs if the radio was left on when the car was shut off previously.]
Also, the problem is noticeable if the radio is off and the buttons on the navigation system are pushed resulting in a high-pitched "beep." Then I turn the car off, then on again, and everything is back to normal.
This happens about once or twice every couple of weeks.
I recently picked up my 2015 GTI DSC Autobahn White and can max out the volume when using Bluetooth music streaming and the volume at the max level is at a substantially lower level than if I was using the radio or Sirius XM. Even at max level, it just doesn't seem that loud. I'm coming from an 2013 Audi Allroad and never noticed a big difference in volume levels when using Bluetooth music streaming. I haven't had a chance to test the volume when using the MDI cable since I'm waiting for the appropriate adapter for my iPhone 6. Should there be a big difference in audio levels with Bluetooth music streaming? Is there a setting that I need to adjust?
View 5 RepliesI get frustrated when I start my car and the radio volume is really loud from my previous driving experience. When I shutdown my 2012 prius 3 with the radio volume turned up loud it seems to remember the volume level. I do not have volume control until 4 seconds after I start it.

My Prius has a JBL system, the two front speaks are quite strong, but the rear ones are not. On my other car, Camry, the volume can be easily adjusted to make either the front or rear speakers loud / light / balanced. How to do this in Prius? I believe it must be capable of doing such a basic thing, right?

View 9 RepliesEven though I have my 2013 Prius for 2 months, I just started trying the voice command system. I find that the volume of the voice prompts are very very low, and can't figure out how to raise that volume. The volume controls on the steering wheel have no effect, the radio volume control knob doesn't do anything, and there's no icon on the audio/navigator screen to make the voice prompts any louder (that I can see or find). It's probably something real easy and I'm just missing it, right?
View 1 RepliesI recently purchased a 2013 prius two. My building's parking garage is very long (full city block) and narrow, and I have to back out of it each time I leave. While I understand the benefits of the beeping, it is SO LOUD! Is there any way to lower the volume? I know I can take it to the dealer to get it switched to one beep, but all I really want to do is make it quieter, not go away. Alternatively, where the speaker the sound comes out of is? Maybe I can muffle it with tape or something.
