View 14 RepliesI would like to know how to check the fluid lever on this car I have been told there is a fill hole and that's where its checked, how this is done. I know they say its filled for life but I would like to know if its full or not...
View 2 RepliesI was wondering if there is a dipstick for checking the automatic transaxle fluid. I have searched my car and the owner's manual but have yet to find anything that addresses the auto transaxle. If I have managed to overlook it just give me a page number in the manual.

View 1 RepliesFeel stupid for asking but what is the correct way to check transmission fluid level?
Do I put the words on the end of the stick right side up, if so I need to add fluid BUT if I flip it upside down I don't need fluid
About to go on my first tow away from home trip and want to be sure
I have Toyota Camry 2005 LE, 180.000 miles ( first owner )
Few months back I noticed that my Camry is sputtering on low RPM below 2000 ( but never when engine is cold )
Car is driving perfect on the highway but in the city sputtering get very annoying when on low RPM and high gear.
My remedy for that is to press overdrive off button after this sputtering always goes away.
My transmission fluid level when HOT is 1 inch above HOT mark
And when in cold next ( morning ) label is still above HOT mark
Fluid level never goes down to COLD mark
What are the cause of the tran fluid be on same level and can sputtering be the symptom of it?
I just did a drain and refill method on my 2014 Camry SE last weekend. However, after measured and calculated, I took out 2qts 1.5oz, but I only pumped in 1.95 qts. So, now the fuild is about 2oz off. Later, I took about 100 miles trip, car shifted fine.
I planted to do a drain and refill again next week. This time, I think I will carefully measure how much fluid is out then pump in the same + 2oz.
I still not sure if that enough, my question is: Can I buy a thermal gun and then measure the temp of the transmission pan, then perform checking fluid? Should it correct?
how do I check the transmission oil on my 2011 Camry LE (2ARFE). I am curious as this car has 98K miles now and I cannot locate the dipstick for the Transmission oil. I got the car 2 years ago at 89K miles.
A technician once told me it's going to be a flush.
I only do 135 miles every week and I am located in Africa.
How do I check the transmission oil and how often should I change it?
5.8L C6 .... I can't get a good reading on my transmission fluid level. When the truck is cold the level is well above (2") the checkered area.
When the truck is hot, I can't read the dipstick. It either has a little bit of oil well above the checkered area, or there isn't enough in the transmission to register.
How to get an accurate reading?
How since the container is not see-through?
View 11 RepliesHot or cold? I just changed the fluid so should I adjust the level when cold? And with the pump off I assume?
View 1 RepliesI would like to monitor the windshield washer fluid level on our '03 Ford Taurus. Unfortunately, the fill nozzle goes underneath a piece of the chassis and I can't tell where it goes or where the reservoir is located. The manual was of no use whatsoever. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I'm stumped.
View 9 RepliesI have a 1996 Ford Escort with a 1.9 liter engine. I was checking my automatic transmission fluid and the dip stick shows 20 C and 65 C on the dipstick. How do I know if my fluid level is correct? Where should the mark be on level surface, in park with engine running.
View 6 RepliesI recently discovered that during our last flush-fill of the tranny, the shop underfilled by about a quart. (or so they claim the quantity to be) I brought it back when noticing the transmission was hesitating to shift gears, especially when cold. Unfortunately, the car was driven for about 5 months at this level before the problem was discovered. Any long term damage?
View 5 RepliesAny information about checking the fluid levels and changing the fluid on 2011 Prius transmission and differential?
View 3 RepliesWhere to check my trans fluid level and looking for info on changing the fluid (The process). I'm pretty familiar with mechanics and changing fluids this is just my first time on this car.
View 11 RepliesI have a 2002 F250 SD 4x4 w/5.4. I drained the front differential gear lube and refilled with 2 qts of gear lube as specified in my owners manual. Actually the manual says 1.8l / 3.8 pts. The fluid level is not up to the fill hole and if I stick my little finger in the hole I can barely get any on the tip of my finger. The owners manual says these capacities are for F250/350 w/ Dana 50 axle. It then says F350/450/550 capacity as 2.7l / 5.8 pts with a Dana 60 axle. My question is should the fluid level be up to the fill hole, as with the transfer case and rear end levels? Could I have a Dana 60 with the higher gear oil capacity in my F250? Whats the proper gear oil level?
View 4 RepliesDrained and refilled 4qt on my 02 Camry. Also changed the trans filter. It used to be all the way up to "HOT", but very low after refill. What's the trick here? Need another qt?
View 14 RepliesI just picked up a 2014.5 Camry (my 1st Toyota) and how full the windshield washer reservoir should be at max level. Now hear me out before you fall off your chair from hysterical laughter, if I fill up the reservoir up to the lid like every other car I have owned, after a short drive it will go down and be below the filler neck, clear down under the fender even though I haven't sprayed the washer fluid.
I haven't seen any fluid dripping but I believe I have a leak. Sounds pretty cut and dry but I'm asking just incase Toyota has a weird fill level on the washer reservoir.
I am checking the tranny fluid level in my daughter's 2007 4 cyl Camry tomorrow.
This tranny has the dipstick and each time we try to check the fluid level with the dip stick we are not sure if we are getting a good reading or not.
What's the trick to it. Should the tranny fluid be at a certain temp before checking? I don't have the manual with me so I'm trying to find the procedure.
