I would like to remove the chrome window molding around the front and rear doors of my 2010 Camry. Is it difficult to remove? More importantly, when I go to reinstall it - is it difficult to get straight like OEM fit and finish?
View 3 RepliesI just bought a '12 Camry SE. However, the belt line molding (shiny trim piece below window) is dented in. How can I safely remove the piece without damaging anything? I may be able to knock the dent back out of this piece after removing it. Any specific tools required for removal? If I purchase the new molding from the dealer it will cost about $100, which I would like to avoid.

View 2 RepliesMy main question is since I don't like the chrome on my windows and I am getting visors what are my option. Is it common to just put the clip ins and leave the chrome or do what i have been reading which is to black out your chrome? If i put the 3m typed style visors do i go right on top of the chrome or not and if not how do i go about blacking that out? Which brand 3m stick on visors recommended for the darkest color and slickest look?

Long story short, the tint shop burned my exterior door pillar when I got it tinted like 8 months ago. Just now felt like dealing with it, so I got the new part in. How to replace it? The back has a lot of what looks like double sided tape and only 1 clip. In order to get the other one off it looks like I have to take off the chrome strip at the bottom since the black molding goes underneath the chrome...

Looks like clip behind trim snapped. Any kind of glue or adhesive can be recommend that will work?
While clamping trim to door I put a crimp mark in trim. Somewhere down the road I will replace this crimped trim.

View 2 RepliesInstalled the Rough Country winch mount yesterday. One hour, by myself. Used a floor jack to lift it in place.
Only problem was removing the plastic molding which came in the spot the fairlead will be. Just a small rectangular plastic molding with a couple of bars down the middle for looks. It had two screws on top edge, and two pushpins on bottom , but also was molded with two catches on each side on the back I did not see. When I figured it out, and squeezed with just my fingers, little too hard and snapped one catch on each side. They slide into a slot and catch but wont be doing that ever again. Oh well.
As for mount, solid and easy to install. I used hand tools as the air gun would only hit one of the bolts for the front tow hooks. The other was blocked by plastic molding. No big deal.

I have noticed that the rubber window moldings around both front doors is deteriorating. Both are torn and falling apart. There is no wind noise yet but they need to be replaced.
