After an oil change I noticed my lower engine cover hanging loose in the middle. Much searching has not found the part number. Underbody engine shield fasteners. Any quick reference for these? 2009 Camry 4 cyl XLE.
View 11 RepliesI've had a Prius since 2006, and bought the 2010 in 2009 when it came out. This is the first winter I'm having a problem with the splash guards under the engine coming loose and hanging down.. I went to the dealer on 1/27 and had them put back in place. I went back again on 2/10. I looked under the car and again one side is hanging down. They dealer explained that it is a plastic clip that holds them in place. I don't drive over big lumps of snow & ice.
View 2 Replies2014 fx4 6.2. Had a coolant leak. Brought to dealer for warranty work. Found a leak in middle lower tube area. Said they replaced radiator part # BL3Z-8005-D. It sure looks like my old radiator still under the hood complete with squished bugs. Am I missing something?

View 3 RepliesI have a 2012 SE v6 with 1600 miles on it. About a week ago, I noticed my bumper cover pulled away from the corner of the headlight and there was a noticeable gap. I pushed on it, and heard a click. The bumper stayed in place. After a couple days driving, it came loose again. I didnt touch it so the Service Writer would see it first hand. Of course, his first instinct was to puch on it, but I got loud quickly, so he kept his hands to himself, and heard me out. I knew if he clicked it back into place I would be SOL. He admitted something needed to be done, not just click it back.
When I picked it up, he said it was a known issue, and there is a TSB on it. He claimed they replaced a bracket. The invoice reads, "ADDED FELT TO TIGHTEN FIT". Yeah, Im sure that will hold just long enough for them to wash their hands of it.
I currently own a 2007 Camry LE 4cycl, and so far its been running great with about 115000kms. First off, I was rotating my tires and notices that the outer cover on the shocks (all 4) is loose...is this normal or is it a sign that they need changing (I have never changed anything related to suspension, so i wouldn't know)?

The second issue is more difficult to pinpoint. When i am stopped at a stop sign or light, and i accelerate I hear kind of a pinging noise, if i rev the engine in neutral i don't hear the noise. I had the dealer check it and they said it could be the flex pipe, which i had changed but the noise is still there. What it could be? The pinging noise is like a metallic noise, i.e., like pins inside a metal container.
I have a 2010 ford f-150. My fuel door swings loose and the cover came off on the highway. Where I can get another one? I need to replace the whole thing.
View 2 RepliesI have a oil leak that I can't seem to find it appears to be leaking down above the passenger side valve cover and then goes under the engine cover. I don't notice much oil in the valley. This is a 2011 f250 6.7 with 116000 miles on it. I have had no other problems with this truck. Could this be the turbo lines? I am on a RV trip several hundred miles from home so I have very limited tools. The leak doesn't appear to be bad at this point the valve cover is wet with a small drip but it's only in the middle. I just changed my oil prior to the trip when I noticed the leak. I did have a leak on the new filter but a new filter fixed that but still have this one higher up.

View 24 RepliesWater seems to be dripping from the compressor and collecting on the lower engine cover. Not sure if it is condensation from a line I can not see or actually dumping out of the compressor. The actual drain for the evaporator is clear and draining under the passenger compartment.
I noticed this a month or two ago but thought it was just water from the rain while driving. Opened the hood today and saw it collected. Turned the car and A/C on and saw it dripping on the the fabric piece that lines the lower plastic cover. Picture Below.

I've recently ran into some issues with my Passat. The other day while driving I noticed a scraping noise under my car. I got out and saw two bracket looking things were hanging down. As far as I know, nothing has changed to the driving but I want to know if it is something really serious. They are on opposite sides of each other, each about a foot length from the front tires (toward the middle) and one appears to be more bent than the other, probably due to scraping.

I'm trying to remove the middle console vent cover to install a kuda mount. It says to pry a bit with plastic tools right to the right of the vent between the plastic and the leather/pleather. Getting nervous and don't want to crack the cover or damage anything.
View 1 RepliesOn my 09 Camry LE most of the time at least once or twice when driving at night with the headlights in AUTO mode if you go to hit the turn signals to switch lanes or make a turn the switch will change to either the off position or on position. This is especially annoying as if you do not realize the headlights are on you can park and leave them on draining your battery.
I have driven plenty (hundreds) of Gen 6 Camry's and have never experienced this. My Corolla switch has never so much as hinted at moving although it only stays in the off position since DRL are always active but anyway. If I am going to replace the switch might as well opt for the XLE/SE switch for my fog upgrade.
Just bought a 09 Camry, 40k miles, nice car. Drove it very little before I put on the winter tires, different rims also. Notice a terrible vibration at lower (more of a pulse) to mid speeds, it smoothes out at 60-70 though.
I've read HIGH SPEED BALANCING, which I had a garage locally balance it on his machine, I think that is HS balancing? I believe the tire spinds at 50-100 mph??

View 3 RepliesI have a 2009 Camry XLE with the split reclining rear seats and the retractable (stupid) sunshade. I bought new 6x9's to replace speakers all around (Infinity 9632) with adapter plates. Got the door speakers replaced easily enough, but for the life of me I cannot figure out the rear deck. It is all one piece of plastic, no removable speaker grills. And of course the speakers are screwed in top down. Most of the posts I have found on the internet are either for previous gen Camry's or people who have the folding down rear seat.
So after a lot of manual labor I was able to remove the back seat completely and the center console. I can pop the front of the back plate up and peek in, but cannot get it to come out. I think something is odd with the models with the retractable sunscreen and reclining seats.
I have scoured the internet endlessly. Closest post I found was "take off the rear side panels (by the back window) and the deck should pop out. There are airbags in there, not very keen on forcing anything.
The car has the "premium" JBL sound system which I found to not be so "premium" and was a serious step down from my last car's factory stereo.
I brought this 2005 Camry last March of 2013. It has an faulty engine computer rendering vehicle inoperable and useless. It died in the middle of traffic not too long ago, and I almost was t-boned. Then it died in the middle of the turn lane and I had to restart it three times to get it to a repair shop where they reflashed the engine computer. Now today, May 25th, it did it again! Right after I pulled out of my driveway it died on the road. I was not on Highway 94 otherwise I would have been rear-ended.
I believe there is a TSB on a faulty engine computer for the 2005 to 2006 Toyota Camry and it should be covered under emissions warranty and this is a serious safety issue, I almost had my car smashed up the first time! Until this problem is fixed, I wouldn't feel comfortable taking it out on a roadtrip. Right now I have a 9 grand paperweight in my driveway, and in fact my 1996 F-150 has been much more reliable than this Camry. I don't want this to drag on for a week, if its not covered under emissons warranty/by Toyota, I will just order a used engine computer and install it.
I am going to order a engine computer and see if the problem goes away. When it died the second time, I had to restart three or four times to get back to my driveway where I left car.
When I was spray painting my bumper lower lip. Wiggled it loose so I could tape better but it came loose. This is what it looks like after gluing back together. The issue is with the little rubber trim not wanting to stick and looking ugly. Had a few ideas.
1. Replace with factory parts and repaint.
2. Wide pin striping along the line,blue or black.
3. Reflective tape square.
4. Euro fog lights
5. Long LED strip,either red or white
6. New blinker/reflector
7. Putty/bondo the bumper to look like one piece then paint.
