2009 Camry, no sunroof.
Noticed today that the carpet UNDER the front passenger seat is soaked. The front and rear passenger floorboard carpet is dry. Just the carpet DIRECTLY under the seat.
Nothing spilled, seat dry.
It happened twice since June when we (central NJ) have had really heavy rains. My front passenger side carpet becomes absolutely soaked, but everything else stays completely dry. Do you think the rubber trim has failed? A regular wash is fine, nothing gets in from that. My car is a 2006 B6 with about 97k on it. It's weird.

So I noticed some pretty extreme fogginess and internal condensation on my windows the past few days (spring has sprung, but we have had some colder days in SE Pennsylvania). Then after taking a bag out of my passenger side floor I noticed it was soaking wet. Couldn't figure it out until I saw that my passenger side carpet was soaked.
It can't be a leak from the windshield or above because only the bottom part of the bag that was touching the floor was soaked.
We did have a pretty rainy day about 2 days ago, and I did use my AC for the first time in a while as well in the past few days so not sure if it's an AC tube problem or seal and drainage problem somehow.
2002 Camry xle, 4 cyl with moonroof.
Passenger side front under carpet is wet. I pulled the carpet back and I could squeeze quite a bit of water from the foam backing.
The water was NOT red/pink in color and no smell.
I saw the a/c drain hose. PICTURE below. It seem clear and plugged into the floor pan.

I am at a loss. Is there a second a/c drain hose other than that black tube?
Some post says it could be moon roof leak. Where is the drain hose for that? My headliner etc is not wet! nor is the driver side.
I have a persistent leak that causes the front passenger carpet to get wet after a heavy rain. Truck went to the dealer under warranty and they resealed the third brake light. Not sure if it ever fixed the problem, but I probably didn't check it as often as I should have after the repair. We've had a few good rain storms and the carpet is getting pretty wet. Since the truck is now out of warranty (2011 F150) I made a new gasket for the third brake light. I think it's pretty well sealed, so I'm thinking the leak is coming from somewhere else.
View 14 RepliesSo I have no clue where and how this leak started. My 2003 Honda Civic Ex has 133000 miles well earned. This leak has to be stopped. The carpet has been ripped out to dry, but I will probably replace it anyways. Some Ideas have already been given to me. First one, my car does have a system in it(meaning sub and amp cords running through firewall), so water could possibly pass through that hole. Second is checking the windows, door seals and if any welds or cracks have not been filled by the auto body shop. This would be from the one known accident from previous owner. Damage was done to the rear left drivers side panels, behind the door. The problem was looked over but nothing was found. Third would be to check, again the windows and doors rubber insulation strips. Also the fourth and most interesting idea, was that the vents or drains that are responsible for the water that flows down the front window and into those vents, I obviously have no real idea of what these things are called, might be clogged, as well as the channels that the vents are connected too.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2005 Honda Pilot that has developed a bad leak. The floor on the driver and passenger side gets wet. The driver side is usually damp and the passenger side floor is soaked, squishy, like a wet sponge. I have taken apart the dash and cleaned out the AC ducts and replaced the filter. I found some small leaves, not a lot. No luck, still wet. I took off the plastic cowl under the windshield, it was really clean there, no leaves or junk and no signs of water there at all. Still gets wet.
The area that is wet is right along the rocker panel near the plastic cover for the door sill, on both driver and passenger sides of the car. The carpet is only wet in the front seat "foot wells", not the back seat areas. I looked at the seals, they seem to be working fine and cannot find anyplace water could be getting in. Either from the top side or underneath. I thought it was drying out then we got lots of rain the other day and the passenger side is saturated and the driver side is damp again. Not sure if it was from driving or sitting in teh driveway/parking lot at work. The car is starting to smell!
After several days of rain I found that the drivers side carpet is soaked. Upon further investigation I realized it was coming from underneath the car rather than from the side. I was able to put my hand under the carpet and feel the metal body underneath. It was soaked. I have never had this problem before and have not been in an accident. The car drives very well and has 130 miles. I recently replaced the transmission and was hoping to have this for a few more years.
View 1 RepliesI have a 1997 Camry that has developed a leak somewhere. When it rains the floorboard on the passenger side is soaked, and it has spread to the back seat now. We have tried to recreate the problem with a hose and had no luck. Where can the water be coming in ? Not the front windows or sunroof as far as I can tell.
View 6 RepliesI have a vibration in my passenger seat of my 2009 camry from when I drive on the freeway. 98% of my commute to work is on the freeway and about 99% of the time there is no one in my passenger seat. The seat is seated upright and when I look at it i see the entire seat back jolting back and forth, just enough to make a vibration and a noise. How to tighten the seat? I assume it will be tough to do and is just normal because the leverage of the seat back being so tall compared to the seat butt rest.

I was hoping to remove the front-passenger and front-centre seat to make room for a probe that will go through the floor into the soil. As I was looking through articles to see if this was possible I read that some newer models dont make this easy, as there are air bag sensors and seat belt sensors that screw up the process. Before going out to look at the truck and make an offer, I was wondering - if there are any tips for removing these seats.

View 2 RepliesFor the last few months I noticed that there is a rattling or clicking noise that frequently comes from the front passenger seat area but only when no one is in that seat. If the seat is being weighed down by someone sitting there, there is no rattle or clicking noise. It generally occurs when I'm driving on bumpier or textured roads. It suspect that it's coming from something underneath the seat, like the lever that adjusts the seat forward and backward underneath it.
I brought the car to a local dealership and they took a look. After a few hours with them, the car was returned to me. They said they'd found that the lever that adjusts the seat forward/backward was not tightly screwed down all the way on one side, so they adjusted that to make it tight. They also found a coin on the rail underneath that seat and removed it too. However, I drove the car afterward and it is still making the noise.
I've searched this forum and already think I've ruled out the seat belt or the buckle as an issue. I put on the seat belt for the passenger seat and the noise still happens. It's really annoying when driving on a freeway!
We just got a new 2014.5 LE, but I noticed that front passenger seat in it doesn't recline flat when reclined backwards. We also have 2012 Camry hybrid, and the difference in seat reclining between them is 3/4". 2012 passenger seat reaches back seat when fully reclined, and 2014.5 does not, it has quite a large gap. Is my 2014.5 seat defective and needs to be fixed, or are all of them are made like this now? We had two 2006 Camrys before, and in both of them front passenger seats reclined fully, touching the back seat...
View 8 RepliesSo now that heat of summer is here, I have been running the AC and noticed a problem. The carpet under the floor mat on the passenger side is wet. It is not from the rain but only after I run the AC. There is a good amount of water in the carpet. The condensation also runs out from under the truck like normal. Any fix to keep me from spending money at the dealer? 2011 F150 XLT.
View 10 RepliesI have a 2012 Camry SE and my front passenger seat seems to shake/shudder alot. It constantly shudders and makes so much noise when no one is sitting in it, that it's driving me crazy! I can't tolerate the noise of it. If I go over a bump it shudders, if i'm driving on a rough highway, it shudders and shakes so badly that I have to put my hand on it to make it stop. It makes squeaky noises as well. It doesn't happen when driving on smooth surface.
Secondly, the center dash is very squeaky, and made out of hard plastic. I feel there is no insulation behind, and thus it squeaks whenever I go over a bump. What steps did you take to resolve it?
So recently I had left my windows and sunroof open on a hot day. An afternoon shower came up. When I went out to my car later that day I found the liner all soaked but the windows rolled up and the sunroof still open. It's a 2016 SEL
I have comfort enabled to open and close with both FOB and door handle(KESSY) and confirmed the sunroof operation. I then left everything open, locked and armed the car. Then came back later and poured water on the windshield and watched as the windows rolled up but the sunroof did not move. Tested with it both open and tilted and never moved once. Obviously the dealer is no use as they claim the car is not equipped with that feature.
I do believe my a/c drain is plugged and wetting my passenger side carpet with water. I pulled my floor mat the other day to vacuum and noticed the carpet was wet underneath the weather tech floor mat. No water on top of the mat. It must be leaking down inside of firewall and under the mat.
My guess is I need to find the drain hose and un-plug it with weed cutter line or re-route the tube. I leave for a work trip tomorrow and don't have time to take it to the stealer. I have to run A/C the whole time so I know it will get wet again. I have today and tomorrow to figure it out.
PS - no rain here for months so I know it isn't the door seal leak. I have had the a/c on 24/7 all summer.
Friday, 4/4/14: I have read many of the posts about this issue on this site. Didn't know this was such a widespread problem until I started doing my internet research today. Obviously there are many of us and this has been going on for a few years with this vehicle. I have had soaked floor boards twice and dealing with my third incident today(4 inches of rain last night). Have an appt with my GMC dealership on Monday. How I start this process with GMC to quickly get their attention. Obviously, I need to contact GMC first so that I can get their standard, worthless answer. But I've read I need to hire a "lemon law attorney", post my dissatisfaction on social media, contact the news media, etc. I am 62 yrs old, on disability, can't afford this inconvenience for something GMC should be RECALLING and fixing. Plus I have a small garage and this monster vehicle will not fit in it (didn't know that until after I bought it).
View 2 RepliesI have a 2005 Chevy Equinox that has developed an odd issue. For about a month, after a good rain, I have a puddle of water in the floor carpet of the front passenger side - while parked. It develops from the center of the car to about the middle of the floor below the seat. So since that is the case I don't think the side window is leaking but I have looked for signs of water coming in. Nothing. The windshield was replaced about 5 years ago but again, no signs that water is coming in from there either. It can't be from the bottom of the car, right? I mean it happens while it is parked, so that doesn't make sense.
View 6 RepliesI have a '99 F350 4 door. After a good rain (I live in the Pacific NW), my front, passenger floorboard/carpet is very wet. The interesting thing is, before the latest rain, I pulled up the carpet and put a towel on the slant between the dashboard and foot area. I expected the leak to be behind the dashboard, then run down to the flat footwell. Surprisingly, the towel was not wet; however, the flat foot area was. Especially closest to the seat. The slanting part of the carpet and towel were not wet. If the leak is not coming from the windshield/firewall/behind the dashboard, where else could it be? Also, the truck was parked during the entire time.
