Camry :: 2009 - Driver Side Headliner Wet
Apr 21, 2014
So recently I was driving in the rain and noticed that my drivers side headliner was wet.
I finally had a dry day today to test out the drain lines on the sunroof. The passenger side drains fine all the way to the bottom of the car. On the drivers side the water went through the drain and did not come down to the bottom of the car, instead it went straight to the headliner new the drivers side A-pillar.
Would suspect a disconnected drain line or a broken drain line? Or is it simply clogged? I don't know if i have much time to take apart the headliner myself.

So we just had a rain storm and I looked at the back driver side headliner and there is a leak! Do you think it is from the window or the roof? When I pressed on the headliner water dripped out so there was a bit of water.

2003 Chevy Silverado 3500 driver side headliner noise. There is a buzz coming from what appears to be a small 1.5" diameter plastic fan cover. What is the fan for and can it be disabled?

My area has been hammered by rain for the past several weeks and I've noticed water leaking in around my driver's side headliner and down my column. I suspect it is the moonroof drain hole that is causing the problem, but when I pour water into the hole it drains out of the bottom of the car like it should be.
I want to check the drain nipple under the column trim to see if the hose is damaged there and leaking, but I'm not sure how to remove it. I've read about the Sante Fe trim removal and it sounds like you should just be able to pull on it from the top and work your way down, but I want to check as I don't want to start breaking clips to "test" out if it works.
Is the column held in by friction clips that should come loose if I pull with enough pressure toward the rear-view mirror?

I have a 2009 Camry LE V6, unmodified, bought new from the dealer.
My driver's side headlight burned out. I also noticed my driver's side high beam was burned out as well. This is unusual as I never use my high beams. The main headlight was an Osram Night Breaker Unlimited. I swapped in my spare Philips bulb and all was good for a 3-4 days. The spare is a few years old that I kept when I installed the Osram.
Today I noticed the backup bulb has burned out.
So it's either a coincidence that 3 bulbs have burned out in the driver's side assembly, or there is a greater issue. My worry is that I will install a new bulb and it will burn out in a few days. Is there anything I can do, short of taking it to the dealer, to try and troubleshoot this?

Just got myself a gentex 177 autodim/compass mirror and I'm trying to find a source in the headliner that is only hot when key is in acc or run. Would do map lights but they're always hot. Trying to run as little wire as possible. Was thinking sunroof switch but I don't have a Pinout diagram of that harnes.

My passenger side power window does not work from the drivers side control, but works from the passenger control. I replaced the master switch on the driver side and it still does not work. I have checked the fuses--Side, below and under the hood and have even found inline fuses below--all were good. Could the dealer have to program my new switch? I do not have child safety locks.

I have an 09 Limited with the dual automatic climate control. It finally got cool enough to start running the heater. The passenger side vents are throwing cold air instead of warm like the drivers side. This includes the windshield defroster. I'm thinking there is a diverter "somewhere" that is not working properly.

Have a tarp over the roof of our Explorer, getting a puddle of water on the driver floor.
It's getting the headliner wet near top driver side of door/windshield.
Is there a drain tube, or is it a blocked channel in the roof that I can clean with a stiff wire from above?? or does this require removal of the headliner?

I recently took my 2010 Toyota Corolla LE to the dealer for an oil change and also to resolve a trunk leak.
I guess when they tried to resolve the trunk leak their mechanic smeared some oil on the headliner. Whats the best way to remove the oil stains on the headliner?

I have yellow tinted fog lights on my Camry, but they weren't a dark enough yellow for me, so I decided to install some yellow Nokya 2500k bulbs as well. They seem to have installed fine, but the driver side bulb shines a lot brighter than the passenger side one:

I own a 2008 Toyota Camry. Yesterday I noticed that cool air is only blowing out on the passenger side and not on the drivers side.I topped off my refrigerant to see if that was it, but that wasn't the problem. What could be the issue?

I have a 2013 Corolla. I have what looks like a rust stain appearing on the headliner starting over the drivers side sun shade and ends by the rearview mirror this seemed to have just started and I checked for water leaks and there appears to be none as far as I can tell and the liner doesn't get wet.

I was driving down the street when another car side swiped mine. There wasn't any noticeable damage, but the side mirror on my driver side popped out.
It doesn't look like anything is actually broken. The mirror just popped out. Can I pop it back in or will I need to get it looked at?
The reason I ask is I didn't notice any other parts of the mirror on the street, but can't seem to get it to pop back in.

My 2010 toyota corolla LE headliner makes a clicking sound in the back. This usually happens when I go over a rough road.

For those with a sunroof do you have the same issue as me?
On the passenger side when I apply slight pressure to the headliner, I get the following noise. In person it sounds like plastic tubes knocking around. The driver's side does not do this.

I recently purchased a 2009 FX4 Supercrew. So far so good, other than I am just noticing stains on the headliner near the back window. Looking at TSB 12-4-4, it looks like the truck has the leaky third brake light issue - or had it in the past. Of course I am beyond the factory warranty, but I was wondering if there was a way to tell if the previous owner had this resolved? Is it common, even if it was addressed previously, that the seal could go bad on this light again?

My 2014 F150 has been in 5 times now for a leak issue and I'm tired of it. I get a water leak in the passenger rear corner of the headliner that makes a big wet stain in the headliner. It rained all day yesterday and now the drivers side rear is wet. The dealer has resealed the rake light, changed to an "upgraded" gasket, sealed again, sealed the top roof trim, sent the truck out to have the rear window removed and resealed...and its still leaking...if anything worse now.
The gasket Ford uses is clearly not the right answer as it's sub par, and Id rather not use silicon as I've heard it can damage paint and even the metal eventually. Is there a permanent fix for this? I'll do it myself so it just gets fixed right...5 times at the dealer is enough! I'd buy a light like a Recon or something if I knew it would fix this leak issue for good. Wondering what others have done. This is a brand new truck with under 10,000 miles on it and I've been fighting this crap since I had 500 miles on it. It's literally unbelievable!

I recently purchased a certified 2013 Camry SE and just found the headliner bent above the rear window. I'm not sure if my 4 year old decided to take a look up in the headliner and bent it or if I missed it during initial inspection. It looks like it was pulled down with one finger and its kind of folded. Its at about the 1/3 point going across the upper rear window. It is a very small bend, only an inch or so deep. Any way to repair a bent headliner? Or have a link on how to repair it? I was thinking of using hot glue and a metal rod or plate but am concerned it may bleed through. Its very annoying to see it every day when looking in the rear view mirror.

Think this is a Gen5 thing, but both of my 2004 Camry (XLE V6 and SE I4 specifically) has this issue. My XLE V6 is more obvious versus the SE I4, but seems to be following the same path. Guess even with car tint, our hot weather has worn this headliner edge. I have not suffered from the crumbling rear speaker cover though.
Thinking of getting some 3M adhesive spray and try see if I can apply it manually (maybe to a cotton pad or sponge then to headliner) to put some on the edges to keep it from getting worst.

I have a 2011 corolla S with 32.5k on it, so my 3yr/36k warranty is running up in a few months. my car from day one (that I had it, at 17k)has had an annoying rattle in the headliner ahead of the sunroof, near the overhead lights. If I press up, even slightly on the lip of the headliner around the front of the sunroof cutout, it goes away. Dealer thinks its normal and says repairs wouldn't be covered under warranty.
The second is a new one, when I go over a bump in the road at highway speeds, there is a squeak coming from the center of the dashboard, at first I thought it was a strut, but after driving back and forth on the same stretch of road for half an hour, I found it to be coming from somewhere behind the radio. Dealer says, squeaks will happen as a car ages.
Do I need to take it to a new dealer (about an hour away) or can I fix this myself?
