is there a way to make the center LED brake light brighter? (such as replacing them with brighter red LEDs or something?)
I was following an identical 2009 Camry today and never realized how dim those center brake light LEDs were.... the car in the next lane was a Chevy something and its center LED brake lights were retina-burning bright!
So I just put in 6000k hid's in my 2011 Sonata Turbo and I want to make my DRL's brighter as well as my high-beams brighter. Is this possible? Also, I'd like to make my fog lights match my HID's, but don't know if I should put HID's in there or LED's.
View 18 RepliesAs I do my 2005+ headlight upgrade, I also want to do an electrical upgrade to make the headlights brighter.
I want to put relays in, instead of pumping all the current through the headlight switch and high beam switches.
Low beams separate in the engine bay fuse panel to feed separate 10 amp fuses. High beams separate at a splice point in the main harness.
I had planned on running 12 AWG wire, which I know is WAY overkill as it normally supports over 20 amps. I'd like to reuse as much of the factory wiring if I can so that I don't have abandoned wires floating around. What gauge wires Ford used for the Low Beam and High Beam feeds to the headlight connectors? I feel that 14 gauge should be fine.
I have yellow tinted fog lights on my Camry, but they weren't a dark enough yellow for me, so I decided to install some yellow Nokya 2500k bulbs as well. They seem to have installed fine, but the driver side bulb shines a lot brighter than the passenger side one:
View 6 RepliesThe brake lights do now work when braking but the 3rd (rear window) light works and tail light filament of both bulbs are ok. So the brake light switch works. right?

I do have a question however. In the 2009, both front doors make a very loud clunk when closed as if a very large piece has broken off on the inside.
I have a 2009 Camry LE. My right rear brake light blew out, but no warning light seems to pop up on the dashboard. I only realized the brake light went out when someone pointed it out to me. How can you tell that the brake light blew out? (I checked the manual but didn't find anything)...

View 3 Replies2002 camry: my boyfriend just told me he accidentally added power steering fluid to the brake reservoir a couple monthes ago....while i floored it on highway, i only reached 40, when let off gas, car came to a quick stop. later i jacked up rear and was able to turn back tires to rule out e-brake being stuck,when car is in nuetral and pushed (forward or backward) it comes to a stop whithin a foot or so ( it seemed like the brakes were being depressed) possible transmission or brake issue?
View 2 RepliesI need to change my rear brakes on my 2010 Matrix. According to my Haynes repair manual, I first need to loosen the hand brake cable which is found under the center console. My problem is, is that I can't figure out how to remove the center console!!! The instructions in the Haynes repair manual for removal of the center console are for 2008 and earlier Matrix models.

I've tried searching the internet looking for any advice but I haven't come across anything for a 2009 Toyota corolla. I understand that some cars need to have the light bulbs soldered and some can you can change out a colored film. Which of these options applies to my car? If it's the light bulb change then what size and how many. Also, how to take out the instrumental cluster.
View 6 RepliesMy Golf R has had this issue (I didn't see much from searching). I have a significant amount of condensation in my third brake light so I called the service department at my local VW dealer and basically was told that this is normal and they won't replace under warranty. They claim the light is vented which allows for moisture to build up. This seems like a bit of a design flaw though and would eventually cause some or all of the LEDs to burn out in the light.

View 2 RepliesOn my '06 Sonata GL the third center brake light does not work all the time. I say all the time because it has a mind of its own; it works when it wants to. I have changed the bulb and it was working perfectly fine for months and months until recently when it suddenly began to act up.

He said some of those LED brake light needs to be reprogrammed after installation at the dealership but he is not sure until he get it installed. Does the LED assembly needs to be programmed after installation?
View 5 RepliesMy center brake light went out a month ago. Thought it was the bulb so replaced that, still didn't work. Checked the fuse and its not broken so my guess was electrical?
Hasn't come on once that I know of but I was randomly walking behind my truck and the light was on. Truck was off lights were off and key wasn't in the ignition.
Went and turned my truck on and turned the lights on and the cbl stayed on. When I switched my lights off it went out and stayed out.
Now I'm definitely thinking wiring but not sure where to start fixing?
Oh and it's a 1990 F150 XLT
I am going to install a center brake light flasher in the rear hatch. I see the panel that appears to cover the area I need on the inside of the hatch between the 2 windows. What is the best way to remove it? Am I on the right track?
