Camry :: 2008 - Retainer For Driver Side Floor Mat?
Apr 23, 2013
The part # 58297-50020 DOES NOT work for my 2008 Camry. The retainer is too shallow to snap to the upper piece of the assembly.

View 2 RepliesI have a 73 F100 with a 9" rear end. I need to replace the drivers side axle shaft as the bearing retainer is starting to slide off and I'm not willing to take a chance a new bearing and retainer will do it again. They are 31 spline axles and have the ball bearings not the tapered rollers.
What year trucks can I find a replacement axle shaft? Any other thing I should be aware of in finding a replacement?
OK for the past few weeks I have been notice water on my floor boards on the DRIVER's SIDE. Now I just did some cab lights and thought ok maybe that's it. About a week ago while it was raining out I dropped the headliner and it was dry as a bone. So I eliminated that as a possibility.
Then I thought well maybe its my 3rd light and the water wasn't showing up until there. So that's been replaced and sealed tight. Now it has been cool here and has not rained in about a week now so everything should of dried out by now.
I left the floor mat out all of yesterday and last night and came out this morning to a dry floor area. I put the mat back in and drove the 15 minutes to my office and pulled the mat back out and the floor was wet again. I have not run my heat or A/C in 4-5 days and have not had any weather other then sun since last Saturday. The water shows up on the back of the floor mat more as like a heavy condensation then anything else. So my question is where is this water coming from?
I own a 2008 Toyota Camry. Yesterday I noticed that cool air is only blowing out on the passenger side and not on the drivers side.I topped off my refrigerant to see if that was it, but that wasn't the problem. What could be the issue?
View 1 RepliesMy 2008 Camry door check stop on driver side is worn out. Is worn out to the point that when I open the door the check stop does nothing. It keeps on swinging until the door is wide open. On a couple of occasions in parking lot almost to hit some cars that were driving pulling next to me. I went to the dealer and they will not cover it under warranty. It now has 66700 miles on it. It started doing this around 45000 miles or so. Car is US made. I am thinking maybe the Japan built is more durable it will not wear out that fast. I could get the US version but I don't want to replace it again in 45000 miles. If the Japan built is better I would buy it. Right side is fine.
View 6 RepliesI have an 08 camry v6 with 29500 miles, I've noticed 3 issues that are happening at this point.
1. When I hit 70 mph the steering wheel shakes, I had new tires installed at 25K and smooth braking. The shaking also goes away if I go above 85 mph.
2. I have two plastic Dashboard screws under the black cover that rests around the dash that keep falling out and I cant tighten them back in.
3. My drivers side mirror is vibrating when I start to drive at idle it's fine.
Other than that the car drives great..
I have a B5.5 passat 1.8t and i have now had about a gallon in a half of water on the floor behind my seat. Why this is happening.?
View 1 Replies2000 BMW csi with 113,000 miles. When I turn right or left I can feel something rolling under my left foot as it sits flat on the floor. Not every turn, but very often. At first I thought something, maybe a water bottle was under my seat. I recently had 4 new tires installed, and this wasn't happening before.
View 5 RepliesI left my the car sitting for a week out in heavy rain and came back to find that the driver side floor was soaked. After searching around I seem to have found the entry point. It seems like all of the water is pouring in from my hood release lever area which I find strange. I put a towel down last night during two hours of rain and came back to find the towel almost fully soaked through. I read other threads on this but the results were inconclusive. Could it be the lower or upper windshield seals? Door seals? Another problem I'm having is water leaking from my dome light buttons after a heavy rain. I assume this is a problem with the sunroof seal, but whenever I search around it feels dry?
View 8 RepliesLast night it rained pretty hard. We were getting back into the gx and my wife ask me why the floor is wet. I thought maybe it was tracked in on our shoes. Well upon further investigating i noticed a stream coming down the inside of my dash by the obd2 connection and where your left shin would be. I pulled the scuff plates off and its flooded.
View 13 RepliesWhat could be the cause for a viscous fluid on the floor of the car on the driver's side. "White" smoke comes from the engine and it makes a noise. Car is a 1993 Volvo 850 stick shift.
View 4 RepliesFor some reason my drivers side floor mat/carpet keeps kicking itself loose of the two hooks there to keep it in line. Then it moves quickly forward to stuff itself under the pedals.
The dealer indicated he had not seen this problem and didn't really have a suggestion.
The wife's 2008 Prius has apparently been collecting water on the driver side (front and back) floors for some time. Allegedly, it doesn't have to be raining, or even wet outdoors at all for it to accumulate. The fluid is not engine coolant or windshield washer fluid; clear, colorless, and tasteless (yeah, I did taste it) liquid, totally saturating, and partially filling the floor pans on the left side, while leaving the area directly under the driver seat dry. There seems to be some dampness on the passenger rear carpet, but it's nothing like the driver's side. The undercarriage has plastic shielding of some sort covering the areas of the floor where the water has built up, so I can't immediately see any drain plugs, or holes where water may be coming in. Before I start tearing things apart, I thought I would run the strange problems through the forum, and see what you all might come up with. I've seen some reports of possible A/C drain issues in the passenger front floor, but this is definitely left side. Oh, yeah....there's a stink along with it, but I'm assuming that may be mold caused by the standing water, or something totally unrelated; but I thought it bore mentioning.
View 19 RepliesWhen I lifted up my floor mat today while vacuuming it was wet under the mat. I'll have to get pictures later but I spent a couple hours tracking it down. It is originating somewhere up by the rear window and tracking itself down to a non complete seam sealer job in the back seat. I'll probably have to look a little closer at this area also WATER LEAK. Trying to figure out water leaks sucks!
View 11 RepliesI just purchased a 2009 Sonata with 78,000 miles. Car appears to be in great condition. I am using the air conditioner alot. I noticed the other day that there was significant moisture under the drivers floormat and the carpeting was damp. I let it dry and put the mat back down. That was about 5 days ago. I checked it again today and it is damp again. The car has not been in the rain during that time. Neither the carpet or the car smell damp or musty. What could be causing the moisture? It is only on the drivers side.
View 5 Repliesjust bought a 99 volkswagen Passat, love the car but cant figure out why the drivers side floor board gets wet when it rains. I have no interior lights, fuses are good ...
View 3 RepliesI have fixed all draining issues, sunroof, fender liners... However I am still trickling water into the drivers side floor pan. I can't see the source.
View 18 RepliesI just got this 07 GX470. I had it shipped here on the back of a truck, he drove through some snow storms apparently.
First thing I did was take it to a carwash. When I get to the dryer part (big blower motors at the end of the wash), my feet and my passenger's toes became soaked. I shined a light up under the dash and couldn't see anything wet. Everything else in the car appears dry as far as I can tell.
It's in the 40s here currently.
02 Camry XLE, I just changed both front rotors and pads (raybestos professional grade and akebono pro act pads). The hubs were pretty clean and I spayed brake cleaner and wiped them, washed the rotors with soap to remove any grease, lubed the pins etc...
I have not had a chance to bed-in the new pads/rotors. I am driving and braking slow/easy last 2 days. Now, I get a slight vibration felt in the steering and driver floor pan area around 70, 75 mph. (NOT when braking, just cruising.) I don't recall having this with old rotors.
Are these signs that the rotor is defective/out of balance themselves? I did go to discount tire and got my tires re-balanced, it's somewhat better... but not perfect.
We had a big rain storm the other night and I didn't drive my car today. So I get in after I get home and notice a god damn flood on my driver side front floor I made sure the drains in the rain tray were clear the other night when I first got the car. Is this more than likely coming from the sunroof drain? I ran some water down the sunroof drain while it was open and it seemed to come out. The water looked to be coming from where the hood release is as there were a few drips right below it.
View 8 RepliesI can't seem to figure it out. I've been having a water leak in my gti. Here's the facts
-rear drivers side floor is soaked wet, nowhere else.
-I pulled up the carpet and carpet pad and wiped the floor dry.
- poured water in sunroof drains and didn't see any new moisture, water ran out of the drains on all 4 corners.
