i just picked up an '07 Camry XLE and every time I start the car (push start button) the horn gives me 3 quick honks. Same happens with the remote start. How to turn that off? Besides just not starting the car

View 5 RepliesTrying methods found elsewhere on this site not working anymore. No matter how much wd-40 and door slamming I do, I am getting the 4 short honks on lock and 2 on unlock. No door ajar light and interior lights go off as normal so it doesn't seem to be door open sensor.
View 9 RepliesI've been having lots of electrically problems with my 2007 Camry SE v6 for the last 3 years. First, the car drains quickly if i leave the key in the ignition while the car is off. Secondly, I have gone through 3 batteries over the past 3 years. Previously, what use to happen is that my cars warning lights would start to come on such as the brakes ABS and battery lights, the head lights would be dim. Then just not start (just fast clicks when ign is turned). I would jump it and it wiukd run for a few more days and die again.
So I'd replace the battery and thing would be fine with the car for a year. Then it would start again, and i'd replace the battery and it would be good for another year. I use to buy costco batteries. This time I tried Bosch. After 4 months with the Bosch, the same thing is happening. My battery light came on, then my abs light. And now my lights are dimming. Earlier, it was just the battery light but everything, including the lights were ok. Im sure I'm sure I'm going to need to jump it next time I start the car. I took it to Toyota last time, and it cost be an arm and a leg to diagnose. They said its just a bad battery.
A while back, my alarm started acting up. What triggered it but now my horn does a single honk whenever my car turns off, whenever I arm my alarm, or whenever I disarm my alarm. Before the problem, it would only hear the alarm chirp when arming and disarming. It would only honk when I pressed the arm button twice. Also, my alarm light is always flashing in increments of 2 and never stops.
It blinks when the car is off and while I'm driving. I've tried the trick to turn it on, off, then hit the button 6 times (also tried 3 and 8), I've held the button while turning the car on then off, I've tried holding the arm and disarm button at the same time......nothing. Also, I got the car used so I'm not sure if my alarm is factory or after market. I attached a few pictures to determine that.
My 2004 1.6 L accent does the following, no matter how much gasoline is or is not in the tank: Whenever I remove and replace the gas cap [which is brand new], as i drive away, the engine light flashes quickly about 20-25 times; rests for about 15 seconds and flashes again about 20-25 times. Thereafter it goes out for the rest of the drive. while it is flashing, the car idles roughly. This happens even if i only remove the cap to add some water absorbent or some injector cleaner. it also happens when i fill up the tank. by the way, i NEVER TOP UP. I always quit filling with gasoline when the pump goes "thunk." this has me completely stumped.
View 9 RepliesI am very happy with my 2010 corolla, except for the annoying beeping. I live in a very quiet townhouse row and the cars are parked right in front of the houses. So, when I get up in the morning to get in the car, it beeps when I unlock it and on good weather days when the windows are open, there are at least 20 units that can hear it. It is very embarrassing. What is worse, randomly in the middle of the night, at 230 or 3am, it will beep five times quickly. My neighbors want to kill me! The engine light has been on for a few weeks because I am due for an oil change. Could it be related to that? And how do I turn this thing off?

Every once and awhile, completely intermittent, no consistency whatsoever it takes 4 seconds or so to get the car to actually start. Normally 1-2 seconds.
Was going to change plugs. See that you have to replace the whole pump/strainer assy. in the tank, no stand-alone filter.
No DTC's or any other lights on. Wondering about replacing the whole pump/strainer assy. will fix it or what the deal is. Can't order it online at Advance Auto parts, and called their store and the Denso one they show isn't even listed as available at the factory. Hope you don't need an OEM one, sure that's not cheap.
My 07 Camry SE just started doing this. I turn off the vehicle. Lock the car with the remote. After a few minutes, the car beeps 3 times. I've checked all the doors, windows, lights. Everything is closed or off. It keeps beeping 3 times after every few minutes. This Camry does not use a smart key.

To counter this I have to run ac so that radiator fans will turn , after turning on ac it start reaching to normal.
This issue starts happening few weeks back ,before it never shows such issue, is it the coolant that I need to replace or what ??
Having an intermittent problem when starting the car.
The car quickly shutting off right after starting while still in Park.
It does not do it all the time, but about every 3rd of 4th start attempt it will do this. If I step on the accelerator, I can avoid the car from shutting off.
The car has 62k miles and spark plugs were replaced at 50k.
I have a 2000 V10 ex. The past couple if days it been giving me some issues while trying to start. At times it will start fine like every truck should, but every now and then I turn the key and it starts to catch but quickly dies. Then it continually turns over. I apply pressure to the gas and it finally catches and runs fine after that. This problem has been getting worse over the past month. Whenever I start it I have to apply gas before turning the key so I know the engine will catch. I've already added fuel treatment and stp to clean fuel pumps but had no luck with that.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2002 Volkswagen Golf 2.0, I was driving and the temperature gauge starting raising pretty quickly. I stopped, checked the coolant and oil, both were at normal levels. The car cooled down pretty quickly, and I drove a little and it raised again. The heat is coming out cold despite the hot temperature. Overheating, normal coolant levels, no heat.
View 8 RepliesOur 2007 Camry dashboard lights up like as it should (regardless of lighting conditions) then after starting the engine or turning the key to the ON position, it dims to total darkness in about 3 seconds. I need this fixed tonight otherwise my wife will take my Tundra to work.
View 4 RepliesA 2007 Toyota Camry 2.4 was brought into the shop I work at smoking badly and running terrible. The car had been run hot because the radiator was busted and it blew the head gasket. So I pulled the head and sent if off to the machine shop to have it checked. They said it was badly warped across three cylinder and they resurfaced it.
Now I have everything re assembled, but it simply will not start. All the timing marks on the timing chain line up where they should be. All four coils are firing. Injectors wires pulse noid lights. A few times it has hit and sputtered like it was trying to start but never successfully does.
I've a 2007 Toyota Camry (LE 2.4 L 4-cylinder). Couple of days ago I tried to start the car and I heard this banging/grunting sound as I started the car. And, after the car started the engine is running much louder. Oddly enough when I got out of the car and opened the hood the noise didn't seem that loud. In other words, it sounds louder from inside the car than standing outside with the hood open.
Before all this, the engine ran very smoothly and very quite. Here is a link for two audio files that captures the sounds. Note that I recorded these two clips from inside the car.

It has been starting "harder" a few times per day over the last week. Sometimes it starts right up normally, quick crank and no gas. Other times it requires much more cranking and then a few taps of the pedal to start.
It seems to be happening more frequently over the past few days but it will always start.
I replaced the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel filter (external) along with the air filter, and that seemed to do it the first day, but then the occasional hard starting returned.
I also swapped positions of the fuel pressure relay and the heater relay just to see if maybe the pump relay was sticking intermittently, which I didn't think was happening since I can hear the fuel pump running when I turn the key before cranking the engine.
No hesitation while driving/accelerating, runs fine once started. Starts hard at different times during the day.
I'm planning to change the spark plugs this coming weekend just because they're due, but I don't expect that to cure this since it runs great once started and I have no CEL.
My 2002 4.8L Silverado recently started having this intermittent starting problem.
A few days ago I got in to start it, turned the key and nothing happened. Lights, radio and power locks all were working fine but engine would not crank or turn over. Turned the key off and on a few times and then the truck started fine.
It started fine for about 3 days. Then got in to start it the next day and this happened again. Turn the key and nothing. Lights, power locks, radio all working ok. Turned the key off and on multiple times but still nothing. So I cleaned the battery cable connections and fully charged the battery, even though it checked out ok. Tried it again and same thing was happening.
This time I looked at the ignition and starting relays under the hood in the electrical box. I swapped a few of them around, tried to start it each time and still nothing.
So I had the vehicle towed to the dealership to be checked. The next day the service man calls me to tell me when they went to check it, the truck is starting fine.
I am not sure if this is a starter problem, ignition switch problem or maybe the computer. The thing is, I can't drive it like this because it is no longer reliable.
Having a problem with the engine cranking over a few times before actually starting. This only happens after the car has been sitting over night. Thought maybe it was a bad battery, but it has been replaced in the last few months.
When I turn the key to start, it tries to fire for up to 3 seconds before actually starting. This only happens on the first start of the day, after that it starts quickly with no problems.
I own a 1994 Chevy Beauville. 12 passenger G-30 (1 ton) with 48k on the 305 V-8. Starting last year I have had problems starting it. At first it was just having to crank it 5 or 10 times. This was random, sometimes weeks would go by with no problems. But it became more frequent as the year wore on. Then twice, while driving, the motor shut off. The check engine light would come on and it would take the usual 5 to 10 cranks it start it. By the time I got to the local garage the light would be off and the set codes would show nothing likely to fix.
Continued this year so finally left it at shop for a week. Not once did it act up, so rolled the dice and installed a rebuilt distributor last week. Took it for a drive yesterday and after 15 miles of driving the motor shut off twice within a mile. Would not restart so had it towed back to garage. Several codes where set so they started looking. Spark tester showed no spark so they put on a test coil and it started right up. Switched back to my coil and, of course, it started right up. They checked for voltage drop but it's ok. Also checked for loose wires. Now when they start it, it runs for 15 seconds and stalls. Saw this happen multiple times.
