I have a 2007 Toyota Camry. The wiper arm on the driver side is not moving while the one on the passenger side is working fine. I thought the wipers went bad and changed to new ones but the problem is still there. Is there something wrong with a motor?

View 4 RepliesWhat is wrong with my 2006 VW Jetta. The windshield wipers quit working all of a sudden. I stopped to get gas and turned off the wipers( it was raining), got gas and went to turn on the wipers, they are not working. I don't even hear the motor run. When I was trying to research online, one of the solutions I came across was spraying WD-40 on the motor to dry up the water and try to fix the problem.here are my questions. 1. does this work? 2. do I need a new motor? 3. If I decide to spray WD-40, do I need to take the wiper arms and the plastic guard on the front to access the motor or can I spray through the grill on the plastic cover?
View 1 RepliesI have no windshield wipers. Since i bought the truck ive fixed other issues but cannot figure out the issue with the wipers. Tested for power not sure if it's accurate but seems like there is power to the harness to the motor but not 100% positive.... Can it be the switch? Blinkers and rest on same switch still work but no ww. I also dont hear clicking from a solenoid like ive read on some research.. Fuses are all good pulled everyone out since they arent labeled with numbers next to them...im at such a stand still and cant drive the truck was screwed the other day when we got sun showers for nor reason and i was on a major highway.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2007 Santa Fe & in the past every time the temp got below 32 my windshield wiper fluid would not come out. We put in the fluid that does not freeze. I brought it in and they just told me the nozzle had debris in it and nothing else was wrong. Next week same thing. Now when I go to put the fluid on the front windshield all I get is the wipers running & no fluid and at the same time the back wipers come on, but no fluid, which never happened before. Back wipers are separate from the front.

View 2 RepliesI'm working on a 2003 that the front wiper and sprayer quit working on. The rear wiper and sprayer still work fine. We replaced the multifunction switch and no change. I would like to test the motor before we keep throwing parts at it.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2006 Camry LE. It seems as if the wipers on my Camry are not wiping as far as they should/could. Specifically, the driver's side wiper only wipes to about 4" from the edge of the driver's/left side edge of the windshield.
This wasn't so much a problem in the rain, but in heavy snow, it leaves a pretty severe blindspot in the driver's left side of the windshiled. It seems as if the wiper should wipe at least another 2-3" further to remove more rain/snow from the windshield and give the driver a better line of view.
Further, when the wipers come back down, they come to a "clunk" as if they were coming down too far. Is there an adjustment for the wiper arms/wiper motor to allow them to wipe more of the windshield?
When it rained recently, the windshield wiper started making a loud squealing noise whenever it would wipe down. When I would spray the windshield fluid, the noise goes away but returns when I stop. No noise when it wipes up or when the rain is light drizzle or very heavy. So only noisy when rain is medium to heavy.
I thought maybe something sticky got on the windshield so used a regular glass cleaner multiple times but it's still noisy. What it could possibly be???
I recently purchased a '09 LS460 SWB. I noticed the driver side windshield wiper arm sitting up high enough to be in my field of vision.
I'm aware that there is a "winter mode" that allows you to raise the arm up a few inches, but from everything I've read....usually the driver and passenger side arm raise together.
In my case, my passenger side arm sits nice and low near the hood, while the dirver is sitting an inch or two higher.
I tried pushing the driver arm down (with success), but after cycling the windshield wipers once, the driver side arm goes back to the higher position.
I recently replaced the wipers on my 2007 Toyota Avalon Limited. The new wipers are a rather expensive one-piece design that tends to bounce along the windshield producing an irritating noise. Never had this problem with the original equipment wipers. I have cleaned the wipers with alcohol, which temporarily improves the situation but the problem quickly returns. Only relief comes during major downpours.
View 4 RepliesI finally had enough of the annoying squeak-squeak-squeak of my wiper blades every time I used them. Time for a fix!
First, I narrowed down the problem by making sure it was not the rubber wiper blade rubbing against the windshield. You can rule this out by simply lifting the wiper arms up to the locked position and turning them on. If they still squeak it’s not the rubber rubbing against the glass.
By carefully listening I narrowed down the squeak to be coming from under the large black plastic cover on the passenger side wiper. From what I have read other Gen II Prius owners have had this same problem. I discovered that you CANNOT remove that cover without removing the wiper arm assembly. But it’s not too hard.
So it rained today. I go to turn on my wipers, and they sound like this: [URL].......................
Clattering and skipping, only for the driver side. So I go to look at the wipers, and they look fine. Put it into service mode, and driver side is not flush to windshield. Took off the windshield blade and saw that the piece that attaches the blade to the arm is crooked. And then there's a slight bend in the arm itself. Pictures show it not very obvious, but is noticeable in person. And there is a bend on both, but the driver side is much more bent than the passenger, and its also at a different angle, hence the crooked attaching piece.
I took delivery of a new 2004 Touareg V8 with nav system radio, yesterday. On the way home, in the rain, the front windshield wipers stopped working as well as sound from the radio (controls, menus, etc... were still illuminated) This is not very comforting. Windshield wipers are quite necessary in the rain. The general technology behind windshield wipers and radios would seem to be mature to the point that reliability need not be questioned. As a new owner having just been through an hour of instruction on operating this piece of machinery, I felt somewhat inadequate that I could not operate the windshield wipers and radio. I said to myself, it can't be this hard! My wife and I became frustrated at each other to the point of my speculation on who would get the vehicle in the divorce.
When I finally made my way into my driveway, I decided to check the wiper fuse because it was most necessary, rain being forecast for the next several days.
I pulled the 30A fuse for the wipers and found it to be OK. I then replaced it. Behold, both the wipers and radio began to work. (The manual does not say anything about the radio being connected to the wiper fuse) Case closed, I thought. 5 minutes later they went out again. I pulled the fuse, replaced it and eureka, they began to work again. I drove the vehicle today for about 30 minutes at which time they ceased to function once more.
My latest issue is not having wiper fluid shoot out of the dispenser units to the wipers. I think it may be frozen, but the weather has only gotten warmer since it worked last.
What's odd is that, even if frozen, I would think one side might work and the other would not, but neither works. I can hear the pump trying to squirt it out, but nothing.
I would rather fix it myself if I could. I have already taken the car to the dealership four times in the last month (steering rack 2X, catalytic converter, lower vent not working)....
I did top it off with fluid last night, but there was/is already plenty in there.

I have an 05 Touareg and the passenger side windshield wiper is not wiping a small section of the screen, approximately behind the rear view mirror. It's not a problem with the blade (I replaced those) so I suspect the wiper arm needs adjustment. Raising the car's bonnet reveals the wiper arm attachment (see picture) but there's a plastic cover that it looks like I need to remove. Usually I use brute force and break things like this. How to
(1) remove the plastic cover and
(2) adjust the wiper arm
The clips on the cover broke so I bought a new one. Since they redesigned the 04 base, I have to remove the base. I remove the nut on the outside and the 3 on the on the inside after removing the cover. However I can't figure out how to pull the wiper off and replace the base. There is something holding it together. There is a pin that is connected to the inside that has a round hole but it is not a torx, allen, or any type of other tool I tried.
View 5 RepliesThe windshield wipers aren't working properly. I can hear the motor trying to work, and either blade will try to work but get stuck against each other. I checked the fuses and nothing is burned out. I'm not sure if it is related to the problem but yesterday my husband was washing the car and I noticed that he had pulled the wiper blades away from the windshield so they were sticking up in the air. We filled the wiper fluid. I'm wondering if something got broken when he opened the hood without putting the blades down? They seem out of sync. He also did an oil change. Could he have done something to cause this problem while doing the oil change?
I want to open up and take a look at the motor functions, but I'm not sure where it's located and how to get to it.
I've been thinking about leaving the wipers in "service" position overnight when it's snowing or freezing rain. I'm wondering if I can go and start the engine and get the defroster going - or - will the wipers try to go back to their "parked" position as soon as I turn on the ignition? Not a fun thing if they are frozen to the glass...
