Im a newbie to the Camry's. Picked up from a relative a 07 Camry for $5k. It has 103K on it.
It has an issue to where it has some codes and the check engine light on with P0018, P0019, P0300, P0302, P0306 codes. They just all cam eup al lof a sudden while driving. Slight miss at idle which is the misfire codes but I can't pinpoint the issue for the P0018 and P0019 codes.
I posted a while back about my 04 5.4 having an issue at idle. I did all the normal things like replace coil, spark plug, etc etc. No change to the issue. It still acts as though it's misfiring on a cylinder and I get codes P0306 and P0316. Finally took it to ford and had a diagnostic check ran. Everything on the top end was in working order. The tech even put a known working coil on 6 and nothing changed. I was told that it's either an intake or valve issue on that cylinder. But no definite answer to problem.
Fast forward to yesterday. I got a wild hair at lunch and went out and started truck. Pulled injector plug off of 6. No change to the way it was running. I did the same for 5, 7, 8, 1, and 2. All of which made a big difference in the way it ran. It was obviously misfiring with no fuel to cylinder. This gave me the idea to swap 5 and 6 when I got home to see if the issue followed the injector from 6. I did NOT. I pulled the plug on 5 and got the obvious change in the way it ran. So there is definitely something going on at cylinder 6 that I cannot figure out.
PCM, bad intake, bad valve? I'm not rich so a trip to ford for repair is gonna have to wait. Truck seems to run fine when driving except for slight hesitation during acceleration.
I just purchased a 2005 elantra with 133k on it and she runs fine other than a slight erratic idle. And by slight I mean it will jump about 50-100 rpm idling and every blue moon it will jump up to 250 rpm sitting there. After idling for a while my CEL came on with the following codes.
P0507 idle air control rpm high
P0506 idle air control rpm low
P0170 fuel trim malfunction bank 1
P0121 throttle position sensor
What could be causing this? I took the iac off and cleaned it with maf cleaner but it didn't work.
Woke up to go to work and it started up with a rough idle, got a block down the road and it had a slight miss under acceleration. Guessing its a bad coil, I've got a spare featured I'd play I I mini miny moe when I get home unless.

It's done this since new and over the 20kms it has now I've been given the round around on it from 2 different dealers. I'm told there is no code so they can't do anything. I'm thinking maybe a coil? Or perhaps injector?
View 6 RepliesMy 1999 Passat 1.8T (AEB engine) with 120,000 miles has run very well lately.............except for a recent problem. I drove 150 miles on southern California freeways, parked the car for an hour, then started it again. There was a distinct miss and the check engine light began flashing. I turned it off, let it sit for a couple hours, then plugged in a code reader. There were two codes, both the same - P-0302, "Cylinder #2 misfire". I pulled the cover off the engine, wiggled the wiring to the #2 coil, cleared the codes and started it up. There was no miss, maybe there was a little corrosion on the electrical connection?? I know there was a recall on the coils, but my car was too old to participate in the recall. Which it is - bad connection, bad coil, or something else? Or a way to diagnose it further?
View 2 RepliesA few days ago I noticed a whining noise coming from the engine and thought it was the power steering unit or the alternator. I was going to bring it in to the dealer this week but last night while driving, the check vsc light and the ABS light came on momentarily and then went off. Then it happened again and again until the lights began to dim and the engine started to shudder. So I quickly started driving home and saw the speedometer going from 0 to 60 mph, the headlights were practically off, the power window would not close, the console lights alternated from dark to lit repeatedly and the car was bucking as I sped home.
I knew the car was running on the battery alone and it was now very low.When I finally had to stop at a traffic light it stalled and would not start. After waiting 20 minutes for a tow truck, I tried to start it and it started. So I immediately drove approximately 3 minutes to a Service Station near my home and parked it there and then canceled the tow truck. Does this sound like the alternator went bad? I should also mention that yesterday before this whole incident took place, while I was stopped at a light with my food on the brake I noticed the brake pedal depress ever so slightly. I didn't think much of it because I knew I had an issue with that whining noise and was going to bring the car into the dealer Monday.
2003 passat wagon 2.8l v6 with p0421 and p0431...a slight miss as well...
Cold start up is fine and initial driving. After car warms, there is a slight shutter at idle (just occasionally) and upon acceleration with low rpms. (It really feels like a miss) Went to AutoZone and came back with the codes above. I thought it might need a new coil but now I am not really sure. I want my performance back but seriously doubt cats are bad at the same time.
My wife's car has 83000 miles on it. We bought it as a factory certified pre-owned vehicle with about 1800 miles on it and it came with the warranty. For the last two years the check engine light comes on with code 441 I don't worry about it till time to get inspection sticker here in Texas. I have been about to reset the computer and drive it till the computer is ready to be inspected and it has passed for two years. Now it won't reset and I have tried to test the vacuum switch and it seems to click when I apply voltage but light won't go off. This code can cost up to about 2000.00 to try and detect. I am not interested in having the dealership keep guessing on my dime.
View 2 RepliesI have a 07 Camry XLE. My previous battery started dying on me so I changed to an Optima Yellowtop battery. Next day the check engine light came on, and sometimes while idle the car starts stalling, it never turns off though just that the RPM goes really low and the acceleration is really slow and it feels like the car is having trouble accelerating. Today it happened again but I was over 60MPH and hitting the gas pedal and it seemed to stop accelerating a few times.

I have a Rough Idle & sometimes a hesitation or stumble on acceleration. I cleaned the MAF & IAC motor & Air & Fuel Filters are new. I got a 20890 scanner & ran test 6 53 as suggested in many posts by BlueGrass. Here are My results & what They Convert to.

I'm guessing the cop's are ok & probably need plugs? I was hoping to just swap a coil. Too cold to do plugs & truck won't fit in my garage.
I have a Camry 2007, V6 and 3 weeks ago speedometer stop working and brake light, ABS light and check engine light came ON.
I had the car checked and P0500 code saying speedometer malfunction. All 4 speed sensors has been checked OK, computer engine replaced nothing change, all 3 lights are on and speedometer is not working.
I also noticed if I pull the connector from SKID control ECU I do have the same lights ON so with or without the connector plugged the same lights are on. Looks like no communication between SKID control ECU and....
I recently bought a 2007 toyota Camry le v6 with less than 38,000 miles it currently has 39,300 miles and my check engine light is on along with the VSC and a skid control light (car with squiggle lines behind it) we have a had lots of rain here where I live and I had to drive through a couple deep water puddles. I looked up online and it said The engine light may turn on if the VSC and skid control lights are on. Could this be that the sensors maybe got wet? I don't think anything should be wrong with this car considering it's a toyota with less than 40k miles
View 14 RepliesEarly 99 7.3. Runs ok has a slight miss at idle however every injector when unhooked makes a change. Has white and blue smoke From the exhaust. Has enough blow by to blow the oil cap off as your unscrewing it. My question is, I know engine restore is bad for these trucks but I can't afford to rebuild the engine. If I run the restore and then clean the IRP once the truck dies is this going to mess anything else up. Do you think it will by me a few months to save up for a rebuild
View 9 RepliesOn a 2000 F-350 with 5.4 engine, where does the vacuum line enter the cab? I got a truck in with no vacuum signal to the heat controls, and it has a slight miss at idle. Both of these are signs of a vacuum leak, but i can not find the line going into the cab.

View 4 Replies2005 Escape 3.0 with 160k miles. Slight miss under cruise, goes away under slight throttle. No service history known about vehicle. Best to replace spark plugs and coils with Motorcraft parts? And the intake gaskets too? Suggestions for correct plugs?
View 14 RepliesI have a 2008 Suzuki forenza, 125,000 miles. I commute 5 days a week one hour each way. The check engine light came on, then after a day it went off. I filled it up with gas and as soon as I started it up, the light came on again. Then an hour later, It went off. My brother came to pick me up from work, it was on (he notices nothing). Took it to Auto Zone and the code came up Throttle Body. Went to get a new gas cap & air filter, the code went off.
Changed both. (The gas cap was clicking but not staying on.) Drove to the mechanic. They said they cleared the code but do not see anything wrong and to bring it back if it comes on again. For 348 miles, it drove fine, parked it in the drive way. I went to start it this morning to move out of the driveway, the light is on again. There is a sight hesitation while driving; the mechanic thought it might be a spark plug. I have had the car a year. The hesitation comes and goes. I plan on getting the plugs changed next week. I started using Lucas with every fill up. So far have used it 3 times.
My Lexus was working fine till yesterday, but today when I started (button press) it, it started giving me a Check VSC error and Check engine light along with Slip Indicator started showing up
Took it to Autozone for the codes and got

I bought the little car to get off my motorcycle and its done great. But, after a couple trips around town my check engine light came on, and I imiditely noticed a change in my idle and engine performance. Im assuming my engine changed the air/fuel ratio to account for the sensor indications. My initial code read came back with four codes which said something about spark, and O2 sensor, and emissions. I went ahead put new spark plugs, gaped them as well as replaced the first O2 sensor.
After that I reconnected my battery and sure enough no engine light and my idle felt even better than before. (by the way my old plugs looked normal) But shortly down the road the light came on again. My idle did become a little different but not like my first encounter with the engine light. My power too seems a bit degraded, as well as the engine's sound. As of right now I am only reading one code P0422, which I do not see in the manual. I read online that its probably my catalytic converter or my engine is running at an improper air/fuel ratio. I am praying that it is not my catalytic converter and just my engine computer throwing things off.
Other things which may serve as clues:
Slight valve cover gasket leak (I will change the gasket when I do my timing belt job along with other seal and probably the water pump)
When pumping gas I can get about 90 cents in at a time, now more like 40 cents since the Saudis lowered our gas prices. Assuming I've got some kind of venting problem.
Car has 107K manual shift.
