For a while now my wife has been getting a weird noise from the passenger side rear, it sounds like its right around the passenger side rear speaker area. It only happens on a hard bump or a pothole and it's kinda like a boing sound. Originally I thought that it was the trunk lid spring but I'm unable to narrow it down. I'm also aware that this is close to the rear strut.
View 4 RepliesHaving problems with a squeaking or ticking noise coming from the front windshield area on the passenger side? I took off the A-pillar and tweeter speaker cover, and the noise was still there. Pressing on the A-pillar did not work and it's not any of the cords or plastics in there rubbing. It almost sounds like it's behind the A-pillar. Pressing on the dash, windshield, headliner, etc. all have no effect on the noise.
I'm trying really hard to fix this myself because I'm worried about a tech tearing apart the dash trying to fix it. It might end up worse than it is now. I'm thinking this TSB will need to be done (which seems to apply to all Toyotas): [URL] ....
Next on my list to check is the passenger side mirror (make sure it's fastened securely) and also the black liner under the windshield wipers. I also have foam (like the kind you use when installing a window AC) which I may also try stuffing into the bottom of the front windshield (and maybe the top) to see if that works.
If all else fails, the car is going to the dealer I guess. The Camry is such a quiet car that the noise is really irritating in an otherwise quiet interior. Other than this noise, the car is great! Just a little bummed because my 2005 has zero rattles or noises and my gf's old 2009 also had no rattles or noises. The 2015 refresh is nice, though we're still on the fence about the front grille. My relative is waiting for the 2016's to be released later this year and then he will be buying one for his patrol car. The 2015 isn't a full redesign but it looks different enough that he wants to wait for the next MY to come out. He's dreading leaving behind his 5MT Civic but it needs to be replaced. He hasn't had an auto, ever, come to think of it..

View 6 RepliesI just switched to driving my wifes 06 v6 Camry a few months ago. A few days ago I noticed that coming from the passenger side I can hear a noise when driving with my windows down. It's quite obviously coming from one of the wheels as its a kind of scrapping noise that speeds up if I speed up.
Here's the thing... this happened once before, the exact same noise, and my wife took it to a shop in our hometown when I was out of the country on business. She says that "a piece was missing and they replaced the piece and now it stopped making the noise". She doesn't have the receipt or remember where the place was so I can call and ask exactly what they did.
So my question is... if this is in fact the same issue... what piece of the brakes or tires or whatever could fall off and cause a strange scrapping noise.... It almost sounds like the wear sensor the brakes, but I checked the pads and they seem fine.
I have a 2006 Camry LE 4 cyl. that developed a light, random (metal sounding) rattling noise under the hood, near engine on passenger side. It's present/noticable at idle and slow speed.
Car runs great otherwise and great gas mileage, pushing around 100k on odometer. Out of town with car otherwise would have looked at. Could something just be loose? Something in air filter? GF drove it down to FL and was fine before she left.
Transmission Oil leak ... I have a 2008 Sonata 2.4 Auto 60,000 miles just noticed a small transmission leak it isn't leaking much but is definitely there its around mainly the passenger side of transmission area close to drive shaft but is hard to pin point.

I had a repair done a few weeks back and had a loaner 2014 TDI SE, and it had the exact same sound.
Where another 09 owner had what he thought was a cold weather related squeak coming from the passenger side dash / windshield area. Mine does this and it's highly annoying. Here's what I've observed:
- seems to happen in cold temps, though I can't say what "cold" is...<40F perhaps?
- noticeable over bumps or whenever the car frame twists as a result of uneven road surface
- source seems to be the dash / windshield interface on the passenger side
- it's *possible* it may be coming from the top of the windshield as well
- it's very noticeable and highly irritating
Either with an 09 or earlier model? I cut a pool noodle and shoved it down between the glass and dash hoping the pressure would relieve whatever is rubbing. It appeared to work until the temps dropped into the 20s. Then it returned. I have a 2009 GLS, 5MT Sonata.
I have had a bad squeak on the front passenger side suspension. It only happens while you are pulling into a driveway, going over a speed bump, or driving slow on a bumpy road. I brought my car to my mechanic and he thought it was the control arms that were shot. They were changed after forking over some cash. I noticed right away the handling was better due to the control arms which is said were shot. But... the squeak is still there, and has not become lower sounding at all. He said it might have something to do with the suspension but it is not worth it to change all the parts.
View 11 RepliesI had the struts replaced a few months ago along with the strut mounts and bearings. Since then I've developed a popping and clunking noise from the passenger side spring/mount area. I've greased it and it has quieted it down but I noticed that when the car is not moving and I turn the wheel from lock to lock that very top piece of the strut pretty sure it's called the hat moves along with the wheels while the drivers side does not. What's wrong? Is it something as simple as the nut being to lose or to tight?
View 3 RepliesI have a new 2013 Hyundai Sonata SE. At speeds of 50 mph or more, there is a high pitched whistling noise which seems to emanate from the passenger side windshield area. I believe the noise is caused by a faulty windshield seal. I recall a similar whistling noise when I had a windshield replaced on a vehicle years ago by. I called Safelite Autoglass back, and to their credit, they sent someone out to re-seat the windshield, which resolved the problem. So I'm assuming the dealer will be able to do the same. I hesitate to call it wind noise because all cars have that to one extent or another.
View 9 RepliesI have 2010 LS460L with 76K miles and I hear rattle noise in from driver and passenger side. I took it to the Lexus service center and they said it's the air suspension problem and need to replace this part and would cost about $2K per suspension.
My question is is there anyway I could convert this air suspension to standard coil or gas shocks from Air suspension??
I will be using this for a Limo in NYC and the road conditions are terrible and air suspension is not going to last that long and they are expensive.
I recently started getting a light tapping noise coming from the front passenger side tire wheel area. It almost sound like a nail stuck in the tire, but lighter in sound and there is nothing stuck in the tire........
Here's the kicker: It only happens when I turn LEFT!!!! I checked and there is nothing obvious that sticks out to touch the tire when it turns...
I just purchased my first VW, a 2012 Tiguan SE in Night Blue Metallic. The level of fit and finish, handling, and general feel are miles ahead of my old '04 Jeep Liberty.
Anyway, I've had the car for about 250 miles and have noticed a clunking/rattling noise coming from what sounds like the front passenger side suspension arm. The noise is fairly quiet but seems to consistently happen when turning left over uneven pavement.
I plan on taking it to the dealer this weekend and it is only a minor annoyance, but a shame since the rest of the vehicle is so quiet and refined.
I'm having a hard time diagnosing a creaking noise that is coming from the front driver side area. Since the Camry is pretty quiet, this is the one stand out noise that annoys me while driving. I placed my phone next to the front windshield to get as close as possible to the noise but am having trouble locating the exact spot. Where it's coming from.
The noise tends to appear when outside temperature is spring/summer like. In the winter I really didn't notice it. So that tells me the interior temperature is irrelevant despite warming up the cabin in winter. How this is linked to outside temperature I have no idea.
Ignore the large thump in the middle of the video as that is noise from going over potholes.

When my 2006 GS 300 sits out in the sun and gets hot, there is a very distinctive rattle that comes from the trunk area. Last summer this happened, and I just lubed the latch mechanism with some white lithium grease, but now it's back and lube does nothing.
View 2 RepliesSo I already changed the Driver Side upper Control arm. But there is still squeaky noises coming from the trunk area, esp at low speeds going over small hills and small pot holes. I saw this is common on our cars and wanted to know which parts were to be replaced. At 110k, is it worth repairing piece by piece or should I do the shocks, ball joints and such at once.

View 14 RepliesMy 03 camry is a four cylinder and has 156xxx miles.
The first issue started with every time I reversed, I would hear a simple clicking noise on the passenger side. Not much of a problem at first, but later it started getting much louder to the point of a loud "THUD." From there, as I reverse it would have a high pitch ring in the rear end.
Anyways, now I hear NO sound or thud, except for a few things have changed. Now after reversing I heard the thud in the front passenger side as I drive off and turn the wheel. It also has a cracking sound whenever i go over speed bumps. And not to forget that if I have to reverse out of something, the brakes drag BAD.
The passenger side front wheel also smells BURNT after my drive.
I have a 2006 Toyota Camry SE 4 cylinder. When I turn on the headlight sometimes the light from the shifter doesn't light up. I have to tap it a few times for the light to come on. This happens to the passenger side low beam as well. When I turn on the light sometimes the passenger side low beam doesn't light up I have to go out and tap the headlight a few times for it to work. What can be the cause?
