Camry :: 2006 Transmission - Shifting To Park Stopped Unlocking The Doors

When we got our 2006 Camry, shifting the transmission to park (P) would automatically unlock the doors, and shifting it to drive (D) would automatically lock the doors.
Up until about a year ago, shifting to park stopped unlocking the doors. Drive still locks the doors.
I always thought it was a problem with the electronics, but I recently heard from a friend that he heard it's actually something you can set with your keyless entry remote (?!).
How I can set it back so that park unlocks the doors again? I couldn't find anything in the user's manual.

I purchased a 2013 Camry XLE V6 a few weeks ago and love the car so far. I am very happy with the deal I received and am greatly enjoying the step up in smoothness from the Mazda 3 with manual transmission that I was driving. For now, I have one simple question and will post some other observations over the next few weeks.My question regards the available methods of automatically unlocking the doors when shifting in to park or turning the car off. I want to set my car to the mode talked about on page 55 of the 2013 owners manual where all the doors are unlocked when the drivers door is opened within ten seconds after turning the engine start stop switch off.
I have tried several times to follow the directions shown for the smart key system but I cannot get it to work. I have disabled the auto lock when shift into park function in the car settings in the display audio system. I even tried some random directions that I found on the Internet but they seem to perhaps work only for older Camrys. How to to set their auto door unlocking in the mode described above? I really just would like to check it out and see if I like it. Honestly, I can probably live without it and just press the unlock button or use the unlock when shifting into park mode

I have an Australian late 2006 Camry Sportivo I4 which is the same as a 2007 US Camry SE I4.
When I unlock the doors with the remote, I sometimes hear 5 beeps instead of the normal 2 beeps. Locking it always has the normal 1 beep.
Replaced the remote battery just in case and searched the net, but couldnt really find any info.

I have a 2011 Azera. The rear doors don't automatically unlock when shifting into park. They function properly otherwise. The child door locks are set in the open position.

Just bought a Prius 2014 Two and am getting frustrated when I put the car in park get out and go to open another door and its locked. In the manual I know it says press the power button put it in neutral, press the unlock button for five seconds and release. BUT nothing happens.

I just bought a mint '08 Passat VR6 4motion sedan with only 40k miles on it a month ago and it is my first VW. I can't believe that I waited this long to own one. That being said I do have a few questions about it.
My keyfob stopped unlocking my doors yesterday but it will still start the car. I changed the battery and it worked once to lock and unlock the car but when I went to unlock the car an hour later it didn't work again.
Also yesterday when I went to start the car it said service now! on the vis screen. Does it say this when the car is due for an oil change every time? I didn't buy it from a VW dealer so I don't know if the computer was reset after the last oil change. It was bought from a different brand dealer.
I also want to know if the car has to be serviced every 10k miles by the dealer, this is quite a bit more than any other car that I have ever owned.

My wife said that her keys stopped locking/unlocking doors. I checked the keys and replaced the battery just to be sure. No change. Older keys also couldn't unlock/lock the car.
Both keys can start the car and has blinking red LED flushing when any buttons pushed. Is there a "Remote" button somewhere in a car to allow remote operation?

My friend has a 2007 accent with a manual transmission they said that they were driving and the transmission stopped shifting gears. The clutch pedal still has pressure so I don't think it is a master or slave cylinder issue. They freaked out and turned off the car and now the car will not start up again. Have any of you experienced anything like this before or know on this car where to start looking? I think the issue with not being able to switch gears could be a pressure plate issue but this would not cause the car not to start.

I have a very puzzling issue with my 2011 Toyota Camry. Since last summer, my car has had a history of an intermittent issue with the passenger doors not unlocking; they consistently lock just fine. I have never had a problem with the driver's side door, and it is only the other three doors that malfunction (front passenger door and both rear doors). If I manually unlock the doors, I can lock them just fine via either key fob or door lock button inside the car, but then they will not unlock at all.
This issue has historically persisted for as short as a few seconds or for as long as a few weeks, and then after some period of time of everything working fine, the issue recurs. The length and frequency of the episodes have been very inconsistent and unpredictable, and the issue has now been chronic for the past two months (the longest it has ever gone without working). I have taken my car to two different mechanics and even the Toyota dealer, but no one has been able to figure out the root of the problem.

When I go to unlock my doors on 2006 TC I push the switch and all locks come up, however, the rear doors are not unlocking all the way. The only way I can get the doors to unlock is to pull up on the knob as I push the switch at the same time and the doors will unlock and become funtional. Where is the problem?

I have a 2004 GX470, fully loaded. When I shift into drive from park, all my doors automatically lock. However, when I park and shift back into park, the doors do not unlock...I have to manually press the unlock button. Is this how it is supposed to be? I have ridden in later Lexus's where the doors unlock when you shift to park. Or is there a switch or method to get the doors to unlock when shifting into park?

Curious as to whether the lights flashing when locking or unlocking the doors on the '06 F series was an option or standard equipment? I know that they flash when you lock the doors (hitting the button twice) but curious at to whether you can make them flash when you unlock (rather than just the interior light coming on).

The fob of my 2006 prius stopped unlocking the driver's door, it does unlock, however, all other doors. Also when locking the car all doors lock no problem, so the weird thing is the "unlocking of the driver door" that doesn't work unless I use the little key inside the fob. I already changed the battery in the fob and it is still doing the same thing.

Recently had a problem with my automatic jeep wrangler where it stopped shifting out of park and drive etc.. the lever would just slide between the different options freely and I wouldn't hear any sort of click. I eventually found that this was because a piece under my car had broken (Some sort of mechanism that pulled another piece when you shifted). Currently I've been fixing this problem by taping the two pieces together, but that never holds for too long and I've been wondering if it would be possible to just gorilla glue (or any glue for that matter) the two pieces together for a more permanent fix? Or am I honestly just stuck coughing up the dough to replace the broken part?

My driver door on my 06 F150 crew cab stopped locking/unlocking recently. I purchased a new actuator and installed and it worked great. About a week later it stopped working again. But then in order to unlock the door from outside you had to turn key and pull on handle while the key was still turned. I was about to break open door again when it made a strange electronic type sound when I was leaving for work (when auto lock activated). After that it started working again - for 3-4 days. Now it stopped working again. I can open door fine from inside but lock won't stay unlocked. As soon as I release handle it locks again.

Experienced problem with the Automatic locks on the doors? The doors on my camry lock as soon as I move the shifter out of park. The owners manual indicates that I can get the doors to lock automatically at 20 km/hr. I have tried following the instructions in the manual to make this happen but without any success.

This morning while driving on the freeway, the the transmission stopped shifting into 6th gear. This was at 70 mph. The only way it would shift up to 6th is by using the manual mode, however after manually shifting to 6th I moved the stick back over and it immediately downshifted to 5th at 70+ mph. Concerned, I pulled off and turned the engine off. After i restarted the engine, I continued to my destination and the trans shifted up to 6th on its own. The car has never done this.

Today when i started driving my car this morning the tiptronic just stopped working....I can shift into the manual column, but when I try to change gears, it just does nothing. I can't even tell if it works intermittently. It shifted up when i was trying to shift down in a few cases. When this would happen, the gear numbers would still pop up on the dash to tell me what gear i was in. Sometimes when I slide it into the manual column, it just remains in "auto mode" if you wil entirely.
The numbers don't pop up on the dash signaling manual mode, and trying to shift does nothing. I even had one moment where it was in "manual mode" when the selector was actually still in the automatic mode. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. Sometimes it goes into manual but just wont shift, and sometimes it wont even switch to manual mode. What would cause this? It seems like such an odd problem, I would assume it's electrical...

I have a 2002 Town and Country LX with the 3.3L V6. Recently the check engine light went on and later the transmission stopped shifting from 3rd to 4th gear. All the gears work properly except for 4th. It doesn't seem like anything is wrong with the transmission, would this be a sensor problem? If so which sensor would need to be replaced?

2002 Camry, Automatic Transmission
Have an occasional problem. When shifting from park to drive/reverse, I occasionally get a loud, brief (1 -2 seconds) rattling noise from the engine compartment. It's my daughter's car so not sure yet if this is a cold start only issue or if present after car has been driven, then stopped and re-started. The problem does only occur occasionally. Where to start troubleshooting? I've looked for loose external pasts with nothing found.
