View 2 RepliesI'm a rural mail carrier and have been looking for a Sport Trac for a work truck. It's size seems to be ideal. I recently found a 2002 model in excellent shape but it has that large console down the center that has an a/c duct in it for the back seat. For me to be able to use this truck, that would have to be completely removed.
Is this possible? I really need to know as that is the only deal breaker I have with this otherwise fine looking truck.
How to remove the pad on the right side of the center console ? Have a very irritating squeak that has begun in the area. Appears to be the leather like materiel rubbing on the plastic upper part of the console.

2001 Escape V6....
This weekend I suddenly got a hard vibration from below the center console. This kicks in at about 30kms/h, continues even if I move the car into Neutral and free wheel.
View 2 RepliesGrandson shoved an ink pen into the center dash vents of our 2007 Camry LE. I removed the vent grille and found out the pen rolled on back and dropped down into the plenum. Now we cannot set the air circulation to defrost. I'm assuming the pen is restricting flap movement. The dealer was not sure the best way to extract the pen - guessing would have to gut the dash with 6 to 8 hours of labor. I'm mechanically inclined and would try the extraction myself, but want to ensure I take the best route and not waste time and effort with an incorrect approach.

View 13 RepliesTonight I was moving some stuff in my car around and placed my work badge in the console area behind the shifter of my 2011 Camry LE. It's the area with the aux plug in. I will attach picture. Anyways the badge somehow became stuck between the door and the back side. How to remove the lid?
View 6 RepliesI am trying to remove the center console on my 2004 Camry. Removed the obvious bolts and screws but there seems to be more to it than pulling a few screws.
View 8 RepliesSo I have the center console apart trying to get access to remove the 12v power outlet, and I have it all apart but I can't for the life of me figure out how the power outlet comes out of its mount. Does it slide out of the top, or come down through the bottom?
View 2 RepliesIs it possible to enable the outlets in the center console to be powered with the car turned off in an '05 Avalon?
View 4 RepliesI am having this same problem shown in the video is there any easy maybe cheap fixes that i can do? [URL] ......
View 3 RepliesCan't upload the pic but I just opened the cc box. Don't see any extra plug?
View 2 RepliesI would like to make one or both of the 12v charging ports in the center console supplied by constant power, instead of accessory fed.
I haven't torn too deep into this car yet, so is there an easier way to do this besides running a lead from the battery? An empty spot in the fuse block perhaps?
To those who owns a 2013 Camry SE, when you're looking at the center console and below the A/C unit, there's a compartment with leather trimming around it, do you have a "gap" between the leather and the compartment?
View 10 RepliesI just noticed yesterday that the center console is moving a bit when I apply pressure to it. Seems like a screw or something is loose. Luckily there is no vibrating while driving yet, so it's livable for now but I would like to fix it.
Here's a video showing the movement when I lightly push on the piece:
It's even worse when I put my entire weight on it, like when reaching for something on the passenger side floor. I don't want to rip the entire thing out one day
I'm trying to get to the shifter light for a 12v power source. I know how to take the left panel off, but how do I get the cup holders out to drill a hole for some led's?
Also, without a multimeter, how would one know which lead is positive and which is ground?
How to remove the console center right under the radio head unit. I could not find any screws. But it did not pop out if I pull it.
View 2 RepliesAs some of you may be aware, I swapped out my OEM HU recently for an aftermarket one -- I show it in post 486 here -- and for various reasons, I decided to go back to stock. I got a pair of 70-1761 & 71-1761 wiring harnesses (because I have a 4-channel aftermarket amplifier) and in a lapse of judgement I tapped the dimming wire into the illumination wire.
Later that night, I noticed when driving with my headlights or parking lights on, the center console buttons don't light up. Specifically, the radio, home & other buttons don't light up and all & the climate control dial knobs are very dim. The ventilation buttons buttons of the HVAC all light up fine & my hazard & passenger seat belt light up fine.
I already check the instrument cluster dash light control & I notice the dial knobs react to it but are still very dim. The brightness of the instrument cluster doesn't match their brightness at all.
I went ahead an looked at my fuse box under the steering wheel column and checked the 10 amp PANEL fuse & it's not blown. For good measure, I swapped it out but the buttons still don't light up. I then checked EVERY fuse under the steering wheel column & non are blown.
In addition to that, I checked every 10 amp fuse in the engine bay fuse box & non of them are blown.
Both front seat heaters are not working on my 2009 Avalon XLS. The center console lights do not illuminate. I presume it's not the fuse because according to the owners manual the 7.5A fuse also controls dash light, power outlet and flashers and they all work. Could it be another fuse, or something else? I can use a voltmeter
