Camry :: 2004 2.4L Extended Cranking When Warm?

starting problem entirely solved by only replacing new fuel filter. i pulled out the filter assembly, checked fuel pump strainer good, regulator oring good but found the filter internal paper was black! changed a new one and the problem never recurred.

-2004 camry 2AZ-FE. 115,000 km (71,000mi).

been searching everywhere for same issue on Gen5 camry but couldnt find any exact fix.

-cold start in the morning (or whenever engine had cool down to ambient temp) engine fires in one kick. max 2 second crank only.

-when engine is warm at operating temperature, and is shut off, i crank it for 4-5 seconds or even longer but engine doesnt fire. 2nd attempt to crank, after the first long crank, it fires in 1 second crank time. this is consistent every single time.

-after engine fires, it idles normal. no sputter or any other abnormality. never had MIL on.

-engine drives normally on all type of load, uphill, highway cruising, city driving etc. so i believe no issues with spark plug.

-cleaned MAF, cleaned camshaft position sensor. measured camshaft position sensor, crankshaft position sensor, coolant temperature sensor all within specification. measured my battery at 12.33v. manual specifies 12.5-12.9V but dont think 0.2v would cause this problem?

-swapped open circuit relay with EFI relay with no effect.

-general check on vacuum hoses, no breakage.

-cleaned PCV valve

-check my exhaust - its very clean, no carbon built up and even has water moisture. pointing to good combustion. so i believe injectors are fine.

-next possibility is either fuel pressure regulator and its oring, fuel pump, and the in-tank filter. i am wondering if i should replace all these....

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: New Injector Install - Extended Cranking

1999 e350 has 130k and original injectors, had a minor power loss while driving that i determined was injector o ring needing replacement since the fuel bowl also had black colored fuel. installed and have been cranking for about 4 days now and am recharging batteries again. whenever i changed any injectors in the past I've refilled both sides of the oil rails although on this one I didn't. Camry :: 2004 Only Starts On Second Cranking Attempt

This is in town driving. Highway mileage is much better but still bad. I checked O2 sensor voltage and it reads a constant 3.3 volts. I believe the O2 sensor is bad but not quite sure. What the correct voltage should be both cold and warmed up to operating temp? Also can the O2 sensor alone cause such high mileage? Car only starts on second cranking attempt.

Passat (B5) :: 2002 - Long Cranking Once Warm

What a strange problem. EVERY EVERY morning the car starts perfect. Once it is warm some of the time (half) it will give a long crank approx 2.5 seconds before it will start. What a stupid problem! I have replaced:

Spark Plugs (NGK G-power) cheaper than stock, supposed to be better.

timing belt, water pump, idler-just matenence
Cam sensors

crank sensor (on tranny)

I checked the wires and coil by hosing them down while running. Vag-com says the temperature sensor is correct. No trouble codes except Secondary Air... What to do

Camry :: 2003 LE - Smoke Blowing On Start-up After Extended No Use

Recently my 2003 Camry LE is blowing out a big puff of bluish/white smoke in the mornings when I first start the car or after extended periods of non-use. But I am not getting any smoke any other time that I can detect. The temperature here doesn't drop much below 70 degrees if it does. What could this be and how can I remedy it?

Camry :: 2007 - Fast Idle For Extended Period Of Time

My 07 LE with the 2.5 has 151K on the odometer. It is an oil burner and now wants to stay on fast idle for an extended period of time. I live in the cold country so I know it will run fast at start up but it is alot longer then it used to be. It isn't working for the oil burning at all! Regarding the oil issue I tried running Pennzoil full synth and it drank it down like water! Is this a sensor problem if so which one would I look into changing.

02 Chevy Impala with 177,000 miles has re-starting problems for last 20,000 miles. New Battery, cleaned throttle plate, new fuel pump, check engine light on (emission problem was told to me by mechanic). Whats going on?

When the car runs it runs very well...to get the car started, just wait, sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes longer than an hour. All the time periodically cranking the engine...just does not start. But when it does start, it runs very well.

This problems occurs only after the car has started and is warm. Let it sit for a while then restarting the problem occurs.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Long Cranking When Warm / Pressure Too Low

Bullet proof complete by Hallas performance just prior to Mike's passing (3 years ago). ARP, EGR, Oil Cooler, lifters, etc..

Newer batteries, DC amp 185 alternator, newer starter, she cranks hard and fast~230,000 miles

Here is the situation: Starts good and fast when cold, even subzero temperatures. She cranks long and barely catches if I make a short stop at a store or restaurant. A few hours later or the next morning is fine.

I found the following codes:

P2284 - Injector Control Pressure Sensor Circuit Range/Performance
P2291 - Injector Control Pressure Too Low - Engine Cranking
P0528

I took her into the local Ford Dealer for diagnosis and here's what they reported. ICP tests good and has the latest pigtails. They reported a leak in either of the following.

Oil injection pump Estimate of 8.5 hours to repair.
Under the Valve Cover Gasket. Estimate of 3.5 hours to repair.

So here are the questions I have. Does this diagnosis sound appropriate? Is it reasonable that they do not know which area is causing the problem? Are the hours reasonable estimates for the repairs? Assuming I go ahead with these repairs, is there anything else I should have them look at while they're in there?

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Starts But After 5 Seconds Of Cranking Even Warm

I am a longtime 7.3 IDI guy with an 88 F350 crew so i know about diesels. But this is my first electronic diesel. I picked up a 2001 F450 2wd auto 260k miles. it used to be my work's truck but was stitting for a year and now i got it in "non running condition"

I towed it home and got it started by replacing the batteries and using the block heater.

As expected it took a few tries of long cranking to run the first time. runs pretty good and no smoke. what surprised me is it still takes about 5 sec of cranking to restart each time when warm too. any direction you would look with those symptoms? HPOP, IPR?

i am pretty sure the glow plugs all work because mechanics had replaced all that stuff. but i know back when the truck was last used it would still never start cold unless plugged in (even in summer).

Camry :: 2008 LE - No Cranking But After 2 Minutes It Starts In First Self

My 2008 camry le v4 has some starting problem. So what happens is when i turn ignition on everything works like radio lights but no cranking i tried lock unlock. Ignition on off. But no cranking but after 2 mins it starts in first self.

It doesn't happens every time but normally Everyday in morning it starts fine but in evening it does it more or when weather is hot. Battery is new. Starter has no problems. I even tried different key.

It looks like alarm issue but i am not sure all the fuses looks fine. Every time it does it its always around 2 mins from when i put in key first time. But it always starts after delay. Its been doing this from 4 month with up to 2 weeks with no problem.

Camry :: 02 V6 Takes 4 To 5 Seconds Of Cranking Before Starting

I have a 2002 Camry LE V6 with 189K on it and noticed that it takes several seconds (4 to 5 seconds) of cranking before the car starts. When the car was newer, it used to crank quicker.

Here is what I have done so far:

- Changed all spark plugs @ dealer using iridium type
- Always used Premium Fuel (Petro Canada 91 grade)
- Put in a bottle of injector cleaner (Redline Complete Fuel System Cleaner)
- Throttle Body has been cleaned about 20K ago
- Oil changes are Mobil 1 5W30 year round with Denso Filter
- Battery was replaced last year with an Optima Red Top and was tested a few months back to be in excellent working order.

What I have observed is that when the weather is VERY cold outside (i.e. -20), it seems to crank quicker, but if I keep my car parked in my garage overnight and start it, it takes several seconds. I have never had the car not start on me so that's a good thing.

Camry :: 2002 Toyota Not Turning On - No Cranking

Today i went to the store and my toyota camry 2002 with 4 cylinder turn on fine. i came back home and car also turned on. after 3 hours, i decided to take a short trip but this time the car was not turning on. there is no cracking, radio and headlight dont turn on. i thought it could be the battery, i used a multimeter and see that i get a 12.6 volt but still no headlight or radio.

The battery is 3 1/2 years old but the fact i get a 12.6 v make me believe is not the battery. I get a little bit of light in the dashboard and when i try to turn on the car it looks like the dashboard light get dim as well as the indicator in the dashboard such as battery indicator, abs, oil etc.

The starter was changed 2 years ago. The car turn on normally before, no sign of long cranking or anything like that. So I think it is not starter either but not sure. when the starter went bad 2 years ago, there was no cracking but the car made a click sound when try to crank. Now there is no click sound and this is why i think it is not the starter.

Camry :: Remote Start - No Cranking On 2007 XLE

I received a remote start for xmas and I'm usually pretty handy, but I've hit a wall today. I've got it responding to the code and turning the car on but it doesn't spin the starter. I've checked the hood switch by holding it down while hitting the code and it doesn't appear to be prohibiting starting.

Camry :: 2002 With 4 Cylinder - Refusing To Start (Cranking)

Stuck at Starbucks at the moment waiting for my car to get towed. Thought I would post here to get some feedback.

I have a 2002 4 cylinder Camry that is refusing to start. The battery seems OK as all the lights are on. The car is not turning over either (cranking).

The car has had no issues (touch wood) since I got it at 50k miles. It is currently at 100k miles.

I believe the issue is with the starter. When I started the car earlier today, I noticed it started a little differently then before. It took a second or two longer to start.

Does the problem can be a starter? I am getting the car towed to my house in about an hour.

I have 2002 camry V6, I did a battery replacement few months ago. It gave me hard time to start, cranking but will not ru,. I did clean the throttle body and was fine. I left the car for few days, came back will not start,you hear the starter but no cranking, a neighbor mechanic kept starting and did start. He said it needs tuning. The car has 104 k miles on it.

Camry :: 2005 XLE 4 Cyl - Increase Rpm 30 Mph Based On Being Warm?

I have a 2005 XLE 4 cyl with 68K miles and a few weeks ago noticed the start of something odd... As the car goes from what appears to be 3-4th gear about 30 mph, there is a push in the rpm about 2-300 and then it shifts. It is not a hard shift, nor does it occur every time. Havent correlated it to first ride of the morning or increased based on being warm etc. Ive had no DTC codes. About 6K ago had transmission fluid flushed, front axles, ball joints, wheel bears, struts and hubs were replaced due to one side failing. Yesterday I brought it into the dealer and they were unable to reproduce. Only thing they found was ABS sensor codes- tested the sensors and found them to be working... Oddly enough, my wife mentioned a flashing brake light a few times when she drove the car recently(I drive it usually and have not seen such.)She is not a good historian so I cant find out if it was abs or brake light.

Transmission fluid is full, looks jut like when it was put in, without any metal shavings.

I purchased a sub for alldata and there are no tsb's for this vehicle that relate to anything like this.

Is it possible that there is an issue with these sensors causing this shifting symptom?

Camry :: 2005 LE With 4 Cylinders Stalling After Warm Up

2005 Camry LE with 4 cylinders , the problem now is it will stall after warm up. To drive it to 60mph speed, it will take 2 time than normal. very slow accelerating.

Will stall after 20 second car complete stop, and will not turn over after 5-10 minute later. I had all 4 new Denso spark plugs and Fuel injectors, clean Maf sensor, clean throttle body, replace coolant temperature sensor.

Camry :: 98 - Temp Gauge Goes Up Normally But Air Never Get More Than Luke Warm

My car doesn't blow hot air. the temperature gauge goes up to half way like it normally operates at but the air never get more than luke warm. I changed the thermostat last year with no better results and I just had the timing belt and water pump replaced in July. It been an average of 8 degrees here for the last week.
