I have Toyota camry LE 2003 model. Today evening, my car got started but I was unable to change the gears. Apart from that, my odometer reading goes off. My heater fan also did not start.
It's very cold here in minneapolis, (-10 F outside). Is this because of that? I started my car from my parking lot to shopping mall which is 0.5 miles apart. while coming back, this happened.
I have a 2003 camry LE and for the last few days I am having issues changing gears. I hit the brakes and the gears wont change from park. I can sometimes get it to work by hitting the brakes harder or pumping the brakes.
View 2 RepliesCame out this morning and after letting the car warm up, went to shift into gear and was unable to get car to go from neutral to any of the gears. If I turn the car off, shift into any gear, and then turn the car on - then I can drive in the gear that I am currently in. As soon as I shift from any gear back into neutral, it will not let me shift into another gear while the motor is running. I have looked at some troubleshooting and even called a local mechanic who was baffled by the problem. I don't' know if it is the synchonizers, clutch control cable, or the clutch itself...
View 6 RepliesI have a '99 Toyota Camry automatic transmission with about 184k on it. I bought it used last summer.I noticed that when I speed up, it is sometimes slow to switch gears. I have to ease off the gas before it changes gears. This also happens when I go from reverse to drive. I experience it more noticeably when I haven't been driving the car for long or on a cold morning. I haven't brought it in yet...

After exploring a little more I came across Byte 1 bit 6 in CAN Gateway [32] Differential Locking. I tried checking it and then going back to adjust the diff lock settings but still no dice .
My vehicle is 2010 Golf TDI 5 door.
I have burnt driver side H4 light but am not able to change it. After turning the rubber dust cover it comes loose but is stuck somewhere (in the middle) and won't come out. The power connector is disconnected.
I don't want to force it out so is there a trick for this? The metal pin is still holding the bulb in.
Is it a big operation to take the whole sealed beam (is that right word for it? The whole front light box I mean) off so I could take a better look. There is not too much space behind the fuse box.
I have a 2008 Toyota sienna XLE and just recently I have been unable to change the heating/cooling zones. For instance I can't change it to defrost even if I press the defrost button. Right now it is stuck on vents. It's all electronic controls on my model and even if the display is showing feet or defrost it is still coming from the vents. I live in New Hampshire and on cold snowy days I've got to be able to change which zone I want heat.

View 8 RepliesI have '98 VW JETTA Wolfsburg and EVERY time after hard rain (cold OR warm weather), the next day my car is unable to start without giving it gas while turning the key. It only starts after a few tries AND it "bucks" when I give it a bit of the gas pedal early on (within 5-10 minutes) into the drive. After that time, it drives great like always. Just had the fuel system "cleaned" at a local oil change conglomerate, which yielded tons of white smoke out of the tailpipe.

Now my front 4 speakers work but not my rear. I bought the amplifier one because the plug fits my camry as the other non JBL one doesn't and I have no clue if I have JBL or not. Now according to the instruction for the harness [URL] .... the green and purple rca cable is for the rear 2 speakers so what do I do?

I want to add some Lucas. I am worried about overfilling...Lucas says a moderate overfill is ok, but I am still apprehensive.
View 2 Replies,I have a 2004 C70 Volvo. One day I noticed a sizable puddle of oil underneath the car that came out of the transmission box. The car turns on fine, but when I put it in drive and press on the gas pedal, I hear the engine roar but the car doesn't move an inch. It is as if the gears were on neutral. I tried reverse and the same happens; I just hear the engine roar with no movement at all.
I asked one mechanic and they said I need a new transmission- which is very expensive- but they didn't give me an explanation. They just said 'it happens'... What is wrong specifically (just out of curiosity)? As far as I know this was a sudden problem. The car was working fine the previous day then the next day, I see the puddle of oil and the transmission doesn't feed at all.Is my only option is buying a used transmission (costs around a couple of grands)?

View 7 RepliesSo my brother "learned" how to drive manual and asked if he could take my car for a spin. As we were driving he went from fifth gear (which he had prematurely switched to) to first. This occurred at about 35 or 40 mph. The car kind of jerked and a mechanical clicking could be heard. The clutch feels fine, and I can switch to all gears it seems, but when I let out the clutch, the gears won't engage, and the car can only be revved. This comes with a clanking noise.

I never drove it much until my 96 Corolla died out, and a couple of years back I started to noticed a little play in the steering wheel that is getting more noticeable.
When I took it to the stealership they told me no TSB but we could suggest a lubricant pack.
When I go over bumps in the road now I can sometimes now her a small click sound.
