Camry :: 2003 - Gen 5 Headlights Yellowed Up - Replacement?
Aug 14, 2012
The headlights on my dad's 2003 Camry has yellowed up really bad and I can barely see anything when I'm driving it at night. I'm thinking about buying a restoration kit for it or just replacing the entire headlight assemblies. I like the look of some aftermarket for the Gen 5 and 5.5. I just wanna know if I should buy aftermarket headlights or just replace them with OEMs. which headlight restoration kit is the most effective?

2003 xle with foggy headlights. Bought some aftermarket units.
Looking for the straight skinny on getting them out. Some have told me I have to drop the front bumper. Seems extreme to me.

My headlights are getting foggy and I don't feel like polishing them anymore. I had it done about year and a half ago and the yellowing is coming back.
I heard TYC replacement headlights assemblies are decent and they are cheap.
How's the fit/quality etc, specifically on gen 5s?
I am talking about straight replacement retaining the OEM function. Not into HIDs and all that stuff at all.

It appears my prius headlight plastic has yellowed over the years. How I can get this crystal clear again?
I've tried numerous cleaning agents, waxes, etc and it doesn't seem to work.

Well now I have to replace the multi function switch due to moving my steering wheel and the headlights sometimes working and turning signals not working. I saw a great video on youtube about changing a Multi Function Switch and it shows where the air bag needs to be removed. I was hoping that since my truck is an older 1997 F250 LD I wouldn't have to remove the airbag. Is there a way to do this w/out messing with the airbag on the 1997?

2005 prius. My passenger side headlight bulb went out. so I replaced both bulbs. Now my headlight aim lower than before. I don't know why. Mines are halogen. I checked auto-leveling system, but doesn't look like anything wrong with it. So I tried manually adjusting the height, CW, CCW doesn't look any different.

Going to ask what is likely a dumb question........ Just had my bulbs and ballast replaced under warranty and tonight was the first time I drove at dark and they seemed like they were pointed at the ground. I couldnt see more than what seemed like 20 feet in front of me(might be a slight exaggeration but not alot really), driver was worse than the passenger by a bit.

I'm looking to replace the headlights and turn signals on my 2002 Excursion - I've seen loads on Ebay, but don't really know how to tell what ones are ok? I like the chrome style, and like the led lights too - but mainly I just want the front of the truck to look more modern (I am buying the 05 style grill too)...

isn't baking headlights black something typically done with HIDs due to the projector pattern? Whereas halogens and similarly-bright LEDs will have reduced performance because they rely on the chrome reflections of the housings?
I'm gonna be running CREE 5700K LED low-beam headlight bulbs on my 07 LE (can be found on Amazon for $80-130), and I'm thinking I might black out most of the housing, except for the reflections around the low-beam bulb. Is this sound?

07 Camry LE. My headlights are too dim and I am trying to figure out what bulb to replace. Are the nighttime headlights the same bulb as the DRL lights or is it the same bulb that produces the high beam light? The manual doesn't list a low beam bulb.

I have an 02 solara sle with the v6, last week during hurricane sandy my car filled with water probably a little above center console. I got the car to run and drive but now I can't get the headlights/rear lights to turn off even with the key out. Also the horn doesn't work, and when the battery's connected I get relays randomly cycling on and off under the good.
I called a toyota dealer and told him my problem and he asked if the car was flooded so it seemed like he has experience with this problem. He suggested the integration relay and told me it was under drivers dash I couldn't find it tho, all I really see is the big fuse box and a cruise control module.

I am looking to install HID lights into my headlight. Successfully i have installed the regular hid into the headlamp for regular use lights. Now i have a question on the high beam which is together with the Drl. Do i have to get a bixenon kit for this socket to get the drl running and the high beam when selected? Or can i just install a regular lo/hi hid. And will it send low output for the drl and then when selected for the high beam it will function as it should?

The headlights on my 2012 Camry are not automatically turning on and off. Is there some type of setting that I need to setup in order for that automatic feature to work?

2007 Camry LE. I keep my headlights in the AUTO position and have had two instances recently where they did not come on, and it was plenty dark enough that they should have. I was able to turn them ON, then back to auto, and some sequence of that finally got them to come on while on AUTO, but it was a little scary. I had other drivers flashing their lights at me so I would turn mine on. I guess I'll have to check every time from now on.

I have an 07 Camry LE and I bought a Kensun H11 HID slim ballast kit they worked great for a while but I had one go out on the passenger side, the ballast stopped working so I bought another kit and replaced both sides with brand new bulbs and ballasts so I would know they both would work as they are supposed to This worked for a while then suddenly the drivers side light is no longer as bright as the passenger side I tried replacing the bulb with a spare new one I had and still same light output I know overlap makes the passenger side look brighter but even against the wall they're different
You can see in the pics how one is a nice bright light with the cutoff and the other looks more like a reflection of the light I still have stock projectors by the way and I know I still need to do the squirrel spotters but not yet sure of best way to do it

I have a 2007 Camry XLE 6cylinder...131000 miles on it.
I have just begun to notice that when I begin driving off with the vehicle at night, the headlights flash once. All 4 headlight lamps have been changed once and 2 of them have been changed twice in the past 8 months. I just replaced the high beam on the driver's side about 6 weeks ago, and now that same bulb is gone again.
The garage has done all the changes except the last one which I replaced with a Sylvania 9005 bulb. It is behind the battery which was a pain to change. This time I will remove the battery hopefully. I changed it myself because the last time I took it to the dealership, that 1 bulb change was $32.00! BTW...it still has the original battery in it.
What could be causing these bulbs to go? and the one time flashing? If I remove the battery, and then change the bulb, is there anything I need to do after reconnecting the battery? I am not a mechanic...does it make any difference which post I remove first on the battery?
