I have been noticing a gas smell coming from the rear drivers side. There isnt any traces of gas on my garage floor. But I have noticed that I have been buying gas more frequently.

Usually switching up the gas I put in clears the issue. This time, not so much. Really strong and causing me to banish the car for the garage due to it stinking up the house.The odor MAY be coming from the left/drivers side of the car. (I only say this as if it is outside in the parking lot, I notice it more on that side.
View 4 RepliesI am getting a burning smell from the drivers side rear wheel. It does not seem to occur all of the time but when it does, when I get out of the truck I can smell it. We found its location just by smelling around the truck.
The brakes are not noticeably grinding and I don't recall ever getting a smell like this from brakes.
After smelling burning for a few days randomly, I've narrowed it down to the rear driver side wheel. After about on the highway, I stopped, and it is HOT! I pulled the wheel but the hub spins easily 1/16th of a turn or so, as it's in park, so the brakes are not dragging. What else this could be? Or are they dragging at random? The rotor is perfect, no rust and no groves, so hte pads are doing their job. 1/16th of a turn is way exaderation, but it can move. Also there's no sounds at all.

Today, while driving home, I smelled smoke/burning and it's definitely coming from the control panel on the driver side (where are the locks and window buttons are). There was smoking coming out of that control panel.
To me, this sounds like something a dealership should really fix since those control panels are usually so unique to the maker and model? But I could be wrong, since I'm terrible with cars.
Is there a chance a recall would cover this? I never got a letter, but I found this on the internet: [URL] ....
When I slam on my brakes there is a grinding noise coming from the front driver side wheel and the smell of rubber. Also when I do a u-turn the same thing happens. I own a 1999 Honda accord v6....

I suspect head gasket, since I can smell it a bit in the exhaust, but I have also noticed steam coming from the drivers side firewall area, but can't see anything. If it is head gaskets, am I pulling the engine? If I have to pull the engine.
View 5 RepliesNoticed something weird the other day I was driving into town and noticed it was getting hard to take off like the truck needed more power or like the ebrake was slightly on I get to my aunts house and notice that I can smell and feel heat coming off of the passenger side rear tire so I get closer and notice that the brake is locked up. what could cause this? and another weird thing about a year and half ago this same thing happened to my mother in law as she was driving the truck and me and my father in law replaced the brake caliper and replaced both rotors and pads on both rear tires and I used a good amount of grease on the slide pins so to keep the pins from seizing up. and now it locked up again what could cause this?

Someone has said that it may be the Leak Detection Pump located above the wheel well in the rear driver's side of the car. My question is does the tapping sound mean that it's going bad?

After I drive about ten or twelve miles it goes away and diminishes into a hissing noise. Is it possible the fuel pump is failing? I have a 2005 trailblazer with 105000 miles.
View 9 RepliesJust took my r on its first road trip. About 1k miles straight. Reached the destination and I noticed smoke coming from the drivers side wheel well. Popped the hood and seems to have com from the rear of the engine. It dissipated fast. 15k on the odometer.
View 13 RepliesMy rear windows, driver's side mostly was stuck...on and off, mostly off...since I bought Kitacamry 2 years ago, and discovered this...(for search engine users the title identifies potential sources for the problem)...
The windows were so snug that they stuck to the rubber if not used much, and here in south Florida they're hardly used, and often would not roll down...sometimes they would but not always...dealers thought it was the motor, or the regulator or the switch...and who could blame them?
I've discovered that it's not the regulator, and that the motor was just not strong enough to "break the seal" of the rubber.
I recently had a regulator repaired (a screw was loose) and noticed that the shop sprayed the rubber with silicone and that made the window glide much more smoothly...soooo....
I sprayed the other windows' rubber seals...and WOW....all open and glide down and up smooth as silk...If your windows are stuck....give silicone spray a shot...
I hope this car isn't going to turn out to be a regret.. I've had it a couple weeks and have nothing but minor issues.. Now the rear drivers side tire is leaking air. I really don't want to bring a car with 500 miles to the dealer, I don't trust them. I could take the tire off and bring it to a tire shop but what could be the cause? I have no vibrations so I wouldn't assume the wheel. From that I can tell it doesn't look like anything is sticking out of it..
View 7 RepliesI have a squeaking noise coming from my rear driver side tire. I changed my brake pads and one was missing. All it had on there is what looks like a shim. ( pics below )
After finishing the job I drove my car and the noise continues. It's mainly when I'm in reverse. Has any one else had this problem? My car is at 50k miles.
I just got a 3rd gen IS 1 month ago, but the last 3 weeks there is a rattle noise coming from the rear door on the driver side. I went to lexus twice now but they were unable to fix it and they told me to wait till the car breaks in.
View 14 RepliesMy 2000 Passat's interior is flooding, however it is only in the read driver side floor and it is coming from the vent that is down there... I looked under the battery and vacuumed and cleaned it out... I can't seem to remove the black box on the right side under the hood next to the battery, it holds the ECU I believe. nor can I figure out where the flooding is coming from.

I have a leak coming down the drivers side rear shock absorber (the bit that bolts onto the swing arm) this has obviously resulted the the rear of the car riding low, but, is there something I can take apart and replace or do you have to replace the whole thing.
it seems likely that it could just be a seal broken somewhere.
So I have finally solved the rattle that has been seemingly coming from my driver side dash speaker. I'm not exactly sure which of the 3 things I did fixed it, but it's fixed.
First, I removed the 2 10mm bolts securing the speaker and removed the wiring harness. I noticed that there are 2 metal clips that those bolts screw into and they are loose, so I took some electrical tape and just taped over them to keep them from rattling.
Next, I found the wire for the speaker has a plastic shroud around it that is very stiff and could make noise, so I wrapped that with electrical tape as well.
Finally, the thing that was most likely the cause of the rattle was a loose wiring harness attached to the firewall. If you reach into the speaker hole you will feel the harness just under the hole. Where the harness is attached to the firewall it was extremely loose. I simply took a paper towel and was able to wedge it behind the harness and the firewall which kept it from moving.
Now the driver side rattle is gone, but I've noticed another rattle somewhere else near the center/passenger side of the dash. Every time I fix one rattle I seem to find another. Maybe I'm being a little OCD about it.
