Just like the title says, looking to swap in a Nav unit onto my dads 2002 Camry. I've done stereo swaps and all, just looking for some info on how it'd work with the JBL speakers. Do I need to get a JBL compatible stereo?
Also my dad's looking to get an OEM Toyota. He was looking at this one [URL] ....

I recently bought a 2008 F-250 lariat and it came with the single disk am/fm radio, i am wondering, can put the navigation touch screen radio in its place?
View 2 RepliesThe other day I used the Navigation system because of a city area with a lot of one way streets. I don't used the navigation system very much. It was then that I notice that when the voice spoke, the radio, running in the background, stayed on causing an overlap.
Is there any setting I can use that would mute the radio when the Navigation voice speaks, then put the radio back on after directions have been spoken?
Or am I just missing it? Seems kind of crazy that you have to adjust the volume for the radio and navigation separately, with no option to control both at the same. This is on a 2013 SE with the non-hdd setup.
View 5 RepliesHigh Idle after engine swap. Just finished an engine swap, the motor is out of a 2000 solara. Started the car last night, and the rpms jumped to 4000. The only issue I had with the swap is some how I did not disconnect the two throttle cables, not sure how I missed that, but they did get stretched a little.

So I found a guy selling an OEM Part # 86100-06040 navigation for cheap. Is it as simple as plug and play for switching it out on my 2013 Non Navigation Carmy Hybrid? Does all the steering wheel controls are there?
View 13 RepliesJust bought a 2002 Camry XLE V6 (86.6k miles) with JLB Premium Sound Package from a dealer. Works great during the day, but no night time illumination.
Don't know if related but previous owner had "A/C LIGHT IS BLINKING AND IS INOP" repaired at 75.1K miles.
Cannot talk with previous owner, but good maintenance records provided.
Am considering aftermarket NAV system if current audio system fails.
I had my radio swapped by the dealer last night due to an issue with the navigation screen restarting while driving an randomly blinking / flashing blue or white. However today the blinking / flashing came back just minutes after picking the car up from the dealer and again this morning while driving to work.
Just out of curiosity is the radio different in a Mark Levinson car or is it only the speakers, sub etc. that distinguishes the sound?
My 06 Superduty had a plain jane AM/FM stereo. I got a 6CD MP3 replacement from a pick-a-part. I don't know the vehicle it came from, all I can say is that it was an SUV. The radio didn't look the greatest, but it worked. I went back to the junkyard to see if I could get the plug for the AUX line-in. I found a 2007 Fusion that had it so I grabbed the radio, cut the plug that goes into the back and grabbed that too. The line-in was in the center console so I cut that out too. There were seven wires coming out of the radio plug and four coming out of the line-in jack. I connected the four wires because they were the same color on both ends. One was a black wire that ran to a foil shield that encased part of the harness. I guess the other two go to the CAN bus? I don't know, there is no provision for them in my truck. The fusion radio takes a different antennae plug and the face doesn't work. When I plug in the line-in plug that I wired up, it only works on one channel. When I plug it into the radio from the SUV and hit the AUX button, it says NO AUX. Do I need one of those PIE connectors, or is there a way to make my pigtail work?

View 1 RepliesBrought the Prius v in yesterday for the 3 yr service. Service advisor was very nice, did not try to sell anything more than an oil change basically. I was concerned the voice prompts do not mute the radio, meaning it is very hard to understand the voice guidance unless you turn down the radio volume. Service advisor first calls and says the Bluetooth is working normally. I clarify that the Navigation voice prompts are the issue. He says he'll call back in a little bit. Calls back and says it is normal. Is this normal? The bluetooth functionality mutes the radio. I don't remember it being like that in the past....
View 4 RepliesI have an 08 RX350 with navigation and premium sound. I bought a Kenwood DDX8901HD radio along with the TYTO-01 interface and the ASWC-1 to try and keep my steering wheel controls. I removed my old radio easy enough. Installed the TYTO-01 made all the connections and now I have NO NAVIGATION ANYMORE NOR DO I HAVE AC. It says check AC connection.

If I navigate to a destination, I get audible real-time traffic updates for the selected route. Is that from the satellite? If I am driving without a destination set, there are areas of congestion shown on the navigation screen. Satellite? Anything else?
View 7 RepliesDoes the XC90 have a very weak radio reception? Some of the FM stations that were normally very strong in my other cars were weak at the XC90, and some of the AM stations that were normally okay got no signal at all at the XC90. Is there anything I can do to boose the radio reception?
View 19 RepliesI have a 2016 LX570 with 5,000 miles on the odometer. This morning the navigation screen is blank and the radio does not work. Took the truck to the dealer, they said Lexus is aware of the problem but does not have a solution. They will call me back when Lexus figures out what is wrong. No offer to give me a loner with a functional navigation unit.
View 3 RepliesI bought a new 2000 740il and the navigation system went black recently and the radio shuts off after 2 min. and you have to double click the on off to get the radio back on, then it shuts off again after 2 min. The navigation screen and system does not work and I did not disconnect the battery, lose power or get a jump, as many first ask. The dealer has no solution but to sell me a new car or a new system.
View 1 RepliesWhen I pair my smartphone to my GS350, and am listening to the radio (or music off the USB key), I can receive calls (automatically) when somebody calls me. In other words, when listening to radio, if somebody calls my phone, the call interrupts my music and I can respond to the call over the car's speakers/microphone - as expected. Great!
But when I use my phone for navigation (google maps), the spoken directions do not get passed to the car's speakers. What's worse, is that because the phone is trying to send directions over the BT connection, it disables the phone's speakers as well - so the spoken directions are not audible at all.
If I switch my car's media to the BT music (instead of radio/aux/USB), the nav directions come thru' fine. But that means that I am no longer listening to radio/USB in between the spoken directions.
This happens with my Android Nexus 6, and with my friend's iPhone 6.
My navigation door will not open, and when I turn the radio on, it looks like it is playing - but no sound comes from speakers.
From digging around here, it looks like this could be a fuse problem - but both of these at the same time? Are they the same fuse? Are the fuses I would need to replace in the passenger side or under the hood?
BTW... it was pretty comical getting to the fuse thing in the passenger foot well - I am just over 5 feet tall, so it was easier to do it head down, feet near the headrest of the seat!
In June my Grandfather picked up a used 2010 Prius (not exactly sure what trim package it is? I think it's IV? It has heated front seats, voice activation, bluetooth, navigation, XM radio, NO sunroof though)
He honestly doesn't like the car that much, I don't think he knew about the "PWR" button that would make the gas pedal behave more like a standard throttle, but he is away on a trip right now so I am borrowing the car. I love it, and I'm going to show him the "PWR" mode when he gets back and see if that changes his opinion of the car.
ANYWAY I noticed when driving it that pressing the MAP button doesn't actually make the map display and instead changes the radio station? I did some searching and found that this may actually be a known flaw although from my searching it doesn't look like Toyota has addressed this?
I'm guessing the car is probably out of the original manufacturers warranty? Not sure if there might have been some sort of warranty from when he purchased the car pre-owned? I definitely plan to talk to him about this when he gets back because it is very annoying to not be able to switch back to the map easily. The only ways I have figured out to work around this is use the voice activation and say "show map" or to press the "DEST" button, choose a destination, and then delete that destination and then it shows the map.
