I have a 2002 Camry. The low beam headlights stopped working last night. All the other lights work. High beam, driving lights, marker/park lights. I checked all the fuses. I changed the headlight relay. Still nothing. Could it be the headlight switch on the steering column? Trying to do more research before I replace it.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2006 Buick LaCrosse. The low beam headlights have stopped working. I thought that maybe the bulbs needed changed (since I usually have to change them every 6 months) but after changing one with a brand new bulb, it still doesn't work. The "old" bulb looks ok. The fuses are also good (I checked them with a multimeter.) The only thing that I see in my shop manual is something about the ambient light sensor. If this has gone bad, would that cause the low beams to not work? The high beams work fine. The low beams will not work with the headlight switch in the "auto" or "on" position. I don't see any DRL relay or fuse in this car.
View 17 RepliesLow beams don't work. The fuses are fine (under the dash, and in the engine compartment) and the bulbs look good. The fact that both went out at the same time has me wondering. One post on this forum for something not related mentioned a headlight relay behind the fuse panel?
View 9 RepliesBoth low beams of my 2004 Odyssey headlights stopped working today. Both high beams are still working. From what I read and observe, the same bulbs serve both high and low beams on 2004 Odyssey. In other words, there are no separate low- and high-beam bulbs. What the problem might be? And is it fairly easy to fix myself?
View 13 RepliesI have a 2004 Camry. A few months ago, the LH headlight stopped working. Thought it was the bulb, but wasn't. High beams work, DRLs work, socket good, contacts good. But, when I tap on the headlight cover, the low beam comes on, and stays on. What's going on here?
View 4 RepliesI have an '06 Camry, which has lost all power functionality. The follow items just stopped working
1. Key fob -- keyless entry and alarm stopped working
2. high beam doesn't come on when headlight is on. However, when headlight is off, it comes on--go figure
3. Power door lock also does not work, even from driver side door. Have to lock all doors manually
4. Interior lights don't come on when door is open.
I have a 2008 Prius 2 that has suddenly developed a problem with the headlights. The lights will function on high but will not work on low. Are they hid? I have checked the fuses and relay. Really at a loss here. Not really wanting to spend a fortune at the dealership.
View 3 RepliesI bought a used 2002 Camry (at a discounted price because of a few dings and dents) and the headlights are not working. The high beams and turn signals work but not the headlights. I changed the bulbs, checked all the fuses and got a new relay but still nothing. I brought it to an electro-mechanic and he told me the ECM was busted and that he could maybe grind it down. This seemed odd to me so I called my old mechanic in the states who said he has never heard of an ECM causing headlights not to work and suggested I install a toggle switch. Does this sound like it could work? Could I do this on my own? I'm pretty handy but am a little hesitant to try any electrical work on my car as I have no experience with electrical work.

View 1 RepliesSo I have MFD display errors for "main beam not working" on both sides but both of my headlights, lows and highs both work fine. this has been like this for a few months now. I can clear the codes with my VAGCOM and after a day or two they come right back. I do have LED license plate lights but for at least a year i only got the error code on startup for the plate lights but never headlights. A little confused as to what is tripping the headlight codes
View 3 RepliesThe low beam headlights on my 2007 Pontiac Torrent have been working intermittently for several months. Sometimes they will automatically turn on like they are supposed to, other times they will not and I will try to manually turn them on- sometimes it works, other times I have to use the high beams. I had the lever replaced, but it did not fix the problem. My boyfriend tried to track down the problem and removed the fuse panel completely from the car, didn't see anything that stood out, so he put the right back. After he put it back, the car would not start.
The radio works, the interior lights work, but when you try to turn it over nothing happens. At all. I towed it to the mechanic a week ago on Monday and they said that it smelled like burnt electrical under the hood, but could not pinpoint the problem. They have now had my car for a week and the latest update they have given me was the car will not communicate with their testing equipment, so they think it is the computer, but they are not sure. They said that they are trying to find a replacement computer.
Does this sound like a computer problem? And if so, should it have taken them an entire week to try to diagnose? I am trying to be patient, but it feels like a week is a long time to have a car in the shop and I am still without a definite diagnosis or any estimation on how much it is going to cost to fix my car. Should I try to take it somewhere else?
2009 VW Jetta TDI... Both low beam/running headlights are not working. I tried to check the fuses but, according to my owners manual both left and right fuse slots are empty. I don't think both fuses fell out. Where the headlight fuses are supposed to be?

View 14 RepliesMy buddy has a 2002 Camry LE(?), without Automatic Climate Control. He had experienced the flashing A/C light like many others, but his solution to the problem was to direct-wire the compressor to the battery. Seemed to work fine, and the compressor still works. Fast-forward to two weeks ago. All HVAC function stopped working from the standpoint of air blowing. No outside air. No A/C. No heat. AND no rear defroster. He replaced the Magnetic Clutch relay tonight thinking it might have something to do with the problem, but that did not solve it. We checked the blower motor, and it only has 0.01V going to it when the air is on. We're getting no sound of anything going on in the cabin.
View 14 RepliesI now have a 2002 Camry and the left rear turn signal has stopped working. When I put the signal on, it flashes about twice as fast inside and in the front, but nothing in the back. I replaced the bulb but it still didn't work. I'm going to switch the bulb here with the right one and see if it's still good just to be sure. Anyway, the rear left flasher doesn't work either. I've had turn signals be fuse related before but not when it's just one signal that's not working. Live in the city and driving without it is no good.

View 2 RepliesI just bought a 2004 f-250 checked everything out except for the headlights ... when I tried them the didn't work except on flash to pass ... I searched around and found some possible solutions and tried them .... first I checked the bulbs and all the fuss they are good then I bought a headlight switch ....that fixed the problem for about two days then they quit working again... so I took it back and got a new one ... when I first put it the new one in it didn't work then it started working a day or so later and I hadn't done anything to make it work... then a couple days later it went out again ... I have swapped the switch out several times and have had no luck I replaced the multi function switch and still no low beams ...
All the fuses are still good I have checked the wiring visually as much as I can see and see nothing... buddy of mine checked the pins on the headlight switch connector they are all good .. Read something last night about a guy whos alternator was going bad and caused his not to work checked mine its putting out around 13.4 at idle .. is there a relay somewhere ... my book doesn't show the function of any of the relays so I don't know ...not a mechanic but a pretty decent parts changer. Trying to fix this myself . Next week have to take the truck to pull the camper ..
So I was driving tonight and bumped my brights on and turned them back off and now my low beam on the driver side isn't working. Figured it blew the bulb so I replaced it and still nothing. High beam still works, low beam doesn't. Checked the low beam fuses and they seem to be fine. 2004 FX4
View 1 RepliesI have a 2011 tiguan 2.0tdi 4motion, around 3 days ago the left headlight dipped beam stopped working, I replaced the bulb with no avail, the sidelights, and high beam work, just nothing on dipped beam, at first the warning lamp illuminated with the message on the screen, of check left dipped beam, I've checked and have no voltage going to the connection the bulb connects to, now the warming light and message have dissapeared but still no headlight. Where to locate the fuse for the headlight...
View 4 RepliesDriving home the other day my right turn signal stopped working. Checked all lights when I got home and the front signal had a constant but low illumination and all the other lights were mostly out as well, very little was working actually.
Pulled the bumper and head lamp tonight. The plastic connector on the low beam was melted and the wires were burnt. The problem was the two brown wires that are sort of routed together. Third wire (grey or another shade of brown depending on headlight manufacturer) was OK.
Headlights are aftermarket, Volx Tuning, < 1 yr old. The rest of the harness inside the assembly looks good- certainly don't see any opportunities for a short.
I replaced the connector and bad section of wire and plugged it back in for a test. All lights were then 100% operational. I removed the assembly to find that the same lamp was smoking again. (I sort of expected this, but had to try.)
Clearly I've got a short somewhere but where do I start? The part of the vehicle's wiring harness that is visible behind the assembly is in good condition. The lamp itself (H7 I believe?) appears OK as well, I don't guess I get so so lucky as to hear those can develop an internal short in the base or something?
My car is fully stock, with all options available to me (cold weather package not available here). The low-beam triple-LED headlights are aimed way too low compared to all my previous cars, and where they should be. BUT high-beam is aimed properly. So if I adjust the low-beams up, my high-beams might end up lighting up the trees, not the road.
If adjust the headlights up on a fully stock car (not lowered at the front)? Are the high beams still lighting up the road fine? And if you can be specific as the number of turns on the screwdriver, it'd be good too to have an initial adjustment reference.
