Camry :: 2.5L 2AR-FE Startup Rattle Goes Away After A Second

Not too long ago I came across the TSB 0041-13 for the 2.5L startup rattle. I believe I have that rattle, heard it for years, never thought much about it. Of course, I'm out of warranty... So my question is, can I just ignore this? It's just a bit minor startup noise, goes away after a second.
I mean, it's my wife's car, and she hasn't even noticed. Also, just what is it that does the rattling? Just the camshaft rattling around inside the VVT actuator, until pressure builds up and holds it in place?

There was a TSB for 2AR engine, Engine Knock/Rattle Noise at Cold Startup. My question is for those I4 camry owner, do you have these rattle sound when you start your vehicle at cold? I am not sure if mines have the same issue, but pretty sure is I can't find any differences between mine and this clip:

Just started getting this noise recently when I start the car. It's coming from the engine bay and only occurs briefly for maybe a second, mainly when the engine is warm. It's a rattle sound. Other than the rattle, the car runs great..

So I've noticed this alarming engine rattle when I first start car as if there is no oil? It only lasts a few seconds! Was it diagnosed with Hyundai? Maybe a quirk of the motor, but seems like over time would cause excessive wear on engine?

2009 Matrix 2ZR-FE, briefly rattles on restart after sitting for one hour after reaching running temp. This engine doesn't rattle on a cold startup so I'm wondering what else other than the intake cam gear could cause this. 42,000 miles, 5-20 dino, regular service.

Our 2007 RX350 with 91,000 miles started an annoying rattle at startup that lasts a couple seconds then goes away. The car drives fine and makes no unusual noise after the initial start. Its definitely not normal as it hasn't done it the last 91K miles we have driven the car.

Third owner with about 81k, sometimes when I go to shift into sixth it seems like there is something stopping me about half way into normal position. Normally I have to go back to neutral and then try again. I don't have this issue with the other gears.
second question, I've noticed under deceleration mostly or going slow over bumps that I can hear a tin style rattle. Now the last couple days when I start the car with or without AC running there is a constant rattle making me think that whatever was rattling over bumps is about to make a run for it when I hit a big bump or something.

I have a 2011 santa fe limited with the 3.5 and 35k miles that has a noisy timing chain rattle upon start up after sitting for a few hours,it's my understanding that the cause is no oil pressure to the tensioner because the oil drains back into the oil pan after sitting for a while. Is there a solution for this situation like a spring loaded tensioner-it seems to me that replacing the tensioner and chain does not solve the problem.

My 2011 sonata rattles when starting. It sounds like noisy lifters and quits after 2-3 seconds. It does not do it on the first start-up of the day, but on subsequent starts when the engine is warm.

Both my lowbeam bulbs went out at the same time on my 2011 back around 48k miles. I believe I read there is a TSB on this issue along with a strange engine rattle at startup.

The 2002 Passat was making a rattle noise at startup and flashed an oil pressure light. The dealer says there is an issue with the chain tensioner and oil tube within the engine.
I received the latest VW bulletin for the 1.8l turbo regarding the oil sludge and coking deposits issues and pending class action suit. I have been religious about the oil changes and the dealer has done them for the 10 yrs.
The car runs great and has been super reliable until this issue. There is 110K on the clock and I'm wondering if this is a potential sludge issue.
I have not given the go ahead yet but wonder if this:
a) sounds reasonable cost wise
b)needs to be done right away
c)should I pursue this with VW NA

This engine really puts out the ponys. it tows ok but not like my diesel. The twin turbo does not get the claimed fuel economy. And now the start up rattle. I seem to be getting the run around on the repair.

Still considering the change from my '08 F250 to a newer F150 with the EcoBoost. I have been driving as many of them as I can to get a feel for them. My current question is this: if one exhibits the dreaded rattle at cold startup, does it always get worse with more time/miles? I found another one that I'm pretty happy with overall, but it does have the startup rattle for about a second at cold start, and only at cold start. Is it worth the gamble, or should I keep looking? It's got about 108k miles and is otherwise in fantastic condition...

I have a 2004 F150 with 195,000mi. For the last several moths the truck has had a rattle on startup, some days it is barely noticable and only on cold starts, other days it is loud and occurs on every startup. The truck was most recently serviced at the Ford dealer and is filled with Motorcraft 5w-20 syn blend and Motorcraft filter Every change before was either Motorcraft syn blend or Penzoil Platinum (I have always used Motorcraft filters on it) and the noise continued after oil changes so I don't think the drain back valve is the issue. I replaced the cam phasers, timing chains, chain tensioners, and guides about 15,000 miles (2 years) ago and the vct solenoids shortly after that. Here is an audio clip of the noise (I know the truck also has an exhaust manifold leak, I plan on replacing the manifold while im working on it
Is this noise the lash adjusters or have the cam phasers failed again (they were dorman parts)? If it is the lash adjusters, can they be replaced without removing the cams? will failed adjusters be obviously damaged? Should I also replace the cam followers? do i need to replace all 24 at once or can i safely replace only damaged ones or maybe just 1 bank (noise seems to only be coming from the pass side)?

2011 Santa Fe 3.5 L
I've isolated this rattle down to the cam phaser( CVVT) in the right cylinder head. It rattles bad for 2-3 secs on cold start or after it sits for 3 hours.
I've put in 5w20 synthetic oil and synthetic Lucas additive and it cleared up the noise for short interval start ups.
I changed the cam phaser in the right head with a used one ( 40k ) but it didn't make a difference. I should change out the attaching cam as well.

My 2006 2.4l Sonata automatic has just past the 100000km mark and developed a rattle on start-up. Opened it up and the chain has stretched beyond limit of the tensioner and has destroyed the adjacent oil spray nozzle that sprays oil on the sprocket.
This should be a lifetime item? No abnormal usage, normal city driving, all services done, never run low on oil-strange or not. Why this has happened.

I recently bought this CPO Azera that came with 100k mile powertrain warranty. I noticed startup rattle that occurs when the car has been sitting for 30mins and longer. It usually lasts 2 - 4 seconds.
I wanted to take it to the dealership but I want to make sure that I approach them the right way and won't be sent home with "this is normal behavior" as it happened in many cases when I was researching it. I suspect chain tensioner but I might be wrong.

I saw some other threads lately other people having startup problems thought i would post mines as well. Mines sometimes would startup then rattle alot/Car shakes and spit excessive smoke from tail pipe. Then sometimes it would startup up at all, No crank No Check Engine Light either

I just purchased a hid kit with relay harness i installed everything and double checked wires/connections etc.. and everything is correct when I turn on my lights they flicker on startup but the driver side will continue to flicker a little bit. I tried buying another kit swapping ballasts/ switching lights left side to right and still the driver side will continue to flicker what can i do?

Search for this problem gets lots of hits. >>IF<< it only happens on day's first startup, that it is actually normal for a car like my 2002 Camry LE 4 Cylinder.
Just wanted to hear some opinions, not about a constant problem but if it only happens on first startup and then no smoke is coming out of the exhaust pipe on subsequent starts.

My gas gauge is moving up and down like when I start up the car the gas indicator will go down to the middle when my gas is full. My car is a 2003 toyota camry.
