The brake pedal is a little too high for my tastes, and I'd like to lower it a good inch. How I can do this.
I'm not sure if any Camrys come with adjustable brake pedals, but mine appears to not, and it's an XLE, which leads me to think they don't.

Don't seem to have an adjustment hole on my 2002 Tundra SR5, 2W drive. These are self adjusting brakes and, if they are, how to I go about adjusting them....simply backing up and engaging the brakes?

05 Camry, 2.4L, 47K. Vehicle parking brake barely holds while in Drive. How is this adjusted? On my 91 Corolla, the brake adjusts itself by pulling up on the handle. The Camry does not have this feature so does this have an adjustable cable? If so, where did they hide this adjuster?

Are the parking brakes on rear disks adjustable at all? Mine doesn't hold very well anymore, but I'm not quite ready to rebuild the whole thing. If there are adjusters (similar to drums), which way you turn them on which side of the truck?

I have a '92 camry with disc front and rear drums. This has been an ongoing problem for the past few months so stay with me while I explain the symptoms. About 5 months ago, I changed the front brakes. The pass. side disc was rusted on so bad, that heat and some work with a rubber mallet wouldn't get it off. It ended up shattering while hitting it with the mallet. The drivers side took some work, but eventually popped off unharmed. The cheap idiot in me decided to take the drivers side disc and have it turned since it was still within parameters, and I bought a new disc for the pass side. New pads, and I'm back on the road.
Fast forward to last month, and I decided that I should check the rears. Same situation; but this time both drums are frozen to the hubs and no amount of mallet and heat would get them off. I ended up cutting around the axle hub with a sawzall, then popping the remaining metal off the hub with a big screwdriver. New hubs and shoes and I'm back on the road.
As I'm driving it a few days later, a few miles into the drive, I notice a light vibration that feels like its coming from the front. The vibration eventually gets really bad and I can feel it in the steering wheel and its even shaking the dash. This happens ONLY when I brake, and not light braking, but when I get the pedal about halfway down to the floor.
So I'm thinking I may have warped the drivers side disc when I applied heat to it. I ended up buying a new disc and replacing the drivers side. So at this point, I have two new discs and lightly used pads. A short time later, the vibration comes back and slowly gets worse again. This is getting long, but I'm almost to the end....
So at that point I take both newer discs back and have them turned. I also get new pads, (free due to warranty), and I'm back on the road. The vibration eventually came back.
Today, I checked the rears, since the problem seemed to start after the rears were changed, and everything looked good. The only thing I noticed that I may not have noticed before, is that it doesn't appear to have "primary" and "secondary" shoes, as they all seem to be the same length. My jeep and ford have a smaller shoe on each side that has to go in a certain place for some reason. The camry shoes seem to be really close in length.
So I got the rear wheels back on and made sure the shoes were adjusted out so that I had the right amount of drag on the wheel. Retorqued all the lugnuts and went for a ride. And the vibrations back...
So the only thing I haven't replaced at least once is the calipers, but I cleaned them when I did the front brake job. It seems like everything is fine until I've done some braking, and either the pads or shoes are heating up. It never starts right away, its always about 10-12 minutes into some braking. I thought maybe the hammering I did to get the discs off had damaged the axles, or the heat had warped them, but I have NO vibration with regular driving; just at moderate braking.

I'm attempting to adjust the TV cable on my 92 gtz V6 3sp auto as it is shifting late...I have found the following instructions (which seem simple enough):
Step 1 Stop engine.
Step 2 TBI equipped models, Remove air cleaner assembly.
Step 3 Push and hold down the metal readjusting tab at the engine end of the cable.
Step 4 While holding the tab down, move the slider until it stops against the fitting.
Step 5 Release adjustment tab.
Step 6 Rotate the throttle lever to the wide-open position, cable will come back and automatically readjust itself.
However, I don't know what I'm doing or better yet, looking at when I am trying to do this..I see the throttle, the cable, can move the throttle to wide open but what I'm not seeing/recognizing on the throttle mechanism is:
1. The metal adjusting tab at the engine end of the cable
2. The slider
3. The fitting the slider is supposed to butt up against
how to properly adjust the cable and have come up blank.

I have no left rear signal or brake lights. The right side works fine and both left/right tail lights work fine, just no left brake or signal. I checked for broken wires and can not find anything. 1992 Ford E50 7.5L.

Have to do a brake job on the truck? I took mine truck in for a CEL (New EGT 12) and during the Multipoint inspection they saw the brakes were pretty worn (and wanted an upsell im sure). I only have 49k miles and the fronts only have 20% and rears 30% of the pads left. So I get to spend a few hours this weekend doing the deed. Anything special to look out for?

Scion TC for Camry SE 2007.
I changed the front brake pads and resurfaced the rotors. After putting everything back together, I took the car to test drive it. The stopping power is fine and there is no squeaking or robbing sounds. However, when I apply the brakes at lower speeds moving forward there is knocking sounds the comes with the tire rotations. What is the reason for this sound?
This is my second time changing the pads and rotors, with the first with no issues. I put grease between the shams and the pads, and I sprayed the rotors with brake cleaner before the installation.

Been looking at a level for my truck and some new wheels and tires. If I change sizes, can the dealership recalibrate my Speedo and transmission shift points for me?

I have an electrical problem with the rear brake lights on my 03 Camry. The fuse keeps blowing the instant I step on the brake. I replace it and it blows immediately. So now i can't drive it because I have no brake lights. I'm thinking there is a short somewhere, where to start my troubleshooting?

Gen 5.5 (2006 LE (57K miles), Rear brake drums and parking brake.
I want to get my parking brake lubricated and rear drums cleaned and adjusted. Is is difficult to lubricate the parking brake?
I plan on getting this done with a Mobile One oil change at a local garage.

The problem is I haven't seen one for a recent (2011+) SD. I don't see anything that resembles a rear drum. They look like 2 huge regular disc brakes.
I live on a hill. My old man taught me to put the trans in neutral, autos and manuals, put the ebrake on and make sure it holds the vehicle, then put the trans into park or 1st gear. This way the weight of the vehicle doesn't rest on the transmission.
How do I adjust the Ebrake? It's ALMOST holding the truck, just needs a minor tweak. I don't see the dust cover the write ups described at all. The one that reveals the Star Wheel. Are they different on these years then prior SD's?

I have the weekend clear. My husband is gone -- so no second-guessing.
I WANT to adjust the parking brake. I ordered the Chilton manual nearly two weeks ago. As of tonight it is sitting in Hermiston, Oregon, about a three-hour drive away. I don't suppose it is getting delivered to my house tommorrow (Saturday).
I have checked out a few online spots that tout instructions. They are either pretty vague, or somewhat scary. I have adjusted the PB on my old Toyota Corolla....many times.

I had a tire blow out, two nuts snapped off, custom rims came with car when I brought it, 12mm internal hex. I suspect they were over torqued.
I loosened self adjuster star all the way, and the drum still wont come off, I have tried heat with propane torch where hub meets drum.
And no parking brake isn't on. 2005 Camry right rear drum.

When I was at Luscious Garage earlier today for a transmission service, the technician told me that my parking brake is out of adjustment. Sure enough, I checked the factory service manual when I got home and found that the spec is 8-11 notches at 67.5lbf. My own test revealed that it was taking between 15-17 notches on mine!

I have a 6-cyl, 2000 Camry that is making a scraping noise from the right rear brake. After driving it for a while I put my hand near the rotor and it was hot. The other side wasn't. I changed the pads and rotors yesterday and it's still making the noise. I'm guessing that there's something wrong with the caliper. Do I need to buy a new one? Can I rebuild the current one?
