Experienced this issue with the the 5th get camry at all. It seems like it is coming from just above the door handles in the front and can hear it when driving over bumps and bad roads.
View 3 RepliesThe drivers side and passenger side doors will not unlock using my key fobs, nor by touching the door handles. The only thing that happens when I touch the front passenger door handle is that the back doors will unlock. I have to enter my car through the back doors, and unlock the front doors manually. Also, by touching the passenger door handle, I get a series of beeps (3-5). What may be causing this, and how to fix it?
View 2 RepliesI noticed this rattle/whistle on one of the 2012 camrys we test drove and now I am hearing it on the one we purchased. when on the highway with the radio off or down low I hear the rattle/whistle. (almost like a jacket zipper rattle) It sounds like it is coming from near the top of the drivers door.
View 2 RepliesFor a few months now, I've had a slight rattle coming from my car's front end (2002 V6), but it has been getting louder. The noise is most pronounced at 30+ mph on rough (old) road. Yesterday, I jacked up the front end to do the tie-rod and ball-joint tests. There is no play from either top-bottom or front-back wiggling.
Here's what I did notice while doing those tests:
1. It looks like the hockey-puck sized control arm bushings are cracking. Is there a source for poly replacements (and how much do they effect the car's ride)? Or is there a better-than-OEM rubber replacement?
2. When the cars was jacked up, I could turn the wheels a little bit (maybe a quarter turn while the tranny was in park). There was some noise coming from behind the hub. It sounded like the meshing of gears, or metal parts intercoking with each other. Is this normal? The bearings don't make any noise when it's driving.
Have a new 2012 Camry XLE V-6. The car has an intermittent rattle/vibration coming from the front of the car. I have 5000 miles and the noise is getting worse. Taken back twice to dealer but no luck. The dealer has checked the front end and suspension, but can not find anything loose. The noise starts around 45 MPH. I know this sounds crazy, but the noise is worse if it's a windy day. A sudden guest of wind will start the noise. I've tried trouble-shooting by turning the wheel, hitting the brakes, even placing the car in netural while driving, but nothing affects the noise except the wind.
View 14 RepliesJust changed out the struts on my ACV36R Camry Altise. Fitted up some nice Monroe GT struts and Kings Springs (front and rear) as well as new Nolathane bushes throughout.
Now, everything is tight, checked over every nut and bolt with a torque wrench to the correct specs but I have a loose rattle sound coming from the front right strut. What it could be before I tear the whole lot out again? I've been around it with a rubber mallet trying to isolate the rattle but I can't replicate it by hitting any of the components that I've replaced.
I have a 2011 camry le, just got its 10,000 service the other day. When I am stopped with my foot on the brake and the vehicle in drive gear, I can hear a rattle coming from the front. But when i let go of break and accelerate it stops rattling. I told the dealer at the service but they told me they could no duplicate it.

View 5 RepliesThe interior door handles that is. Not the actual chrome but the black plastic that is made to be held when closing the door. Damn I hate it. Gives the car such a cheap feeling.

I have only this on the rear, but i can move this only in the direction of that arrow, and only for 90 c, here's the pic ....
Just noticed the other day that the door handle on my GTI squeaks when pulled, especially when done slowly. The only one that does it is the driver's side. I'm guessing it needs some kind of lubricant?

View 1 RepliesBoth the driver and pass. side inside door handles (with the window switches) have the thin outer 'rubberized' layer peeling off on my tan interior 2006. Short of replacing them ,what other options are there? Wrap it all in some kind of matching tape? What kind? If i have to replace them, what kind of costs and complexity are we looking at?
Other than that, at over 120k miles, this baby continues to be a dream to drive
Portions of my console have started to peel along with the driver side handles. Car had less than 20k miles on it when the peeling started.
View 7 RepliesEver since I painted my car my outer door handles have not worked properly. Once you open the door using the inner door handle then the outer one works fine...lock the doors and the outer handle becomes almost useless. I say almost useless because if you kind of pull it just right it seems to catch and work. How to remedy it? Really tired of using this auto window roll down to reach in and open the door.

View 20 RepliesSo when I first took the car home, I could unlock the car by touch the rear door handles and it would unlock all the doors for the car. However, my car wanted to update, and after doing this, this feature does not seem to work anymore. I can still touch the drivers side and front passenger side to unlock the doors, however, i am no longer able to unlock the car using the rear doors.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2013 Santa FE 2.0T Limited with the Smart Key setup. Since new, when I would approach the vehicle and the key was within a yard of the door handle, the small lights in the door handle would come on so we could see the handle. A couple of weeks ago the vehicle battery died (again) and now those lights will only come on once the button is pushed.
The dealer had the vehicle for 90 minutes and could not find any thing wrong other than the Welcome Light was turned off in the center info console from the dead battery episode. I checked it again last night and the proximity lights still do not work. How tp get the proximity lights working again?
Yesterday I found that I could't lock the Phaeton by pressing the button on the outside door handles .
I could only lock/unlock from the key fob . Is there something I can do to resolve this short of going to a service dept ??
