Bonneville :: 98 - ABS Not Working / Light Never Comes On

My 98 Bonnevilles abs system no longer seems to work. It's been like this for quite awhile now, but I have been overhauling the car and would like to fix it. It stops as if it doesn't have abs and yet the light never comes on. I'm going to run some tests on the wiring.

So the gas gauge stopped working correctly over the winter and now in addition to that the DIC is telling me "Check the gas cap". I put a new GM cap on, the filler neck was rusty so I sanded it and applied some oil to the lip of the neck and the cap.
DTC code is 440 and I keep getting informed to check the gas cap. The car has 120k miles on it.

My 1993 Bonneville SE; fuel pump is not working. I don't know if it's the relay or not. How can I check and where is the relay. I have relays in horizontal line in center of my firewall. I am disabled and don't have any other transport.

I also have a 2000 boneville and over the winter i discovered that those same three windows/locks/courtesy lamps doesn't work , I have went through all the fuses which are fine , I will call the dealership and check on the BCM. I also have the wet floor problem. But no sun roof, I read that it may be the connector under the pass seat, I see a connector above the carpet, could that be it or is it located under the carpet...

All at once my power locks and windows on all doors and the power mirrors quit working. The Driver Info center also says "Unknown Driver" when I start the car. After that happened the check engine ligth came on and when I went to get that checked there was no power to the ODB port (not sure if it is related or separate). Also, the brake, ABS, and traction control lights are on...they have been so I'm sure that is a separate issue.

I recently snapped the emergency brake line on my Bonneville by using it for the first time. Now my brake light is on and beeping. It isn't siezed up. I don't plan on fixing the line if I don't have to. Is there any way to stop the beeping.

My friend has a 1996 or 1997 Pontiac Bonneville with over 130K miles on it and its been in her family for several years and she says the "Check Engine" light on it has never turned off. She's taken it to different shops to have it looked at and none of them can tell her what's wrong with it. As far as she can tell, the car runs fine, she keeps up with the service on it but I wonder what would be causing this? I once owned a 1999 Chevy Malibu with the V-6 3.1 liter engine and I had the same thing happen to me but when I had it serviced, the mechanic hooked a little code reading device to it and turns out the spark plugs were misfiring so he changed the coil pack in it....problem solved. So obviously my friend is having issues with fuel emissions system in it but I wonder why the mechanics in the City she lives in can't seem to figure out the problem. Not saying her car has the same problem my old malibu once had, there's a number of reasons why that light turns on and from what I've learned it usually involves the fuel emissions system in it. So what could be wrong with it?

I replaced the fuel tank on my 91 SSE and now the SES light comes on after you drive for 10 minutes. When you park for a time and restart the car the light is off .It comes back on again after 10 minutes. When replacing the tank I did find part of the EVAP line from the tank to the canaster rusted thru and replaced it.The gas cap appears to be OK. The engine runs fine no problems starting or accelerating . Where should I look?

I was driving to church this morning when my brake light inside my car starts beeping. As soon as I put it in park and back into reverse it quit beeping. I am just wondering if this needs to be looked at asap. My brakes work fine. I can stop suddenly and everything. My dad changed my front brakes earlier this year and is going to do my back ones soon.

Every year at this time I get check engine code about either the temp. sensor or the thermostat. I replace the temp. sensor every year, and last year I replaced both the temp. sensor and the thermostat and flushed the cooling system and replaced the coolant. but not this year, no I'm not doing it! For there has to be some other reason other than the temp sensor failing each year! 2005 Pontiac Bonneville 3.8 V6....

I have a 1995 Bonneville with about 160k miles. I have a problem with the PARKING light on the dash coming on, accompanied by a chime. This happens fairly consistently after first starting the car and driving off, or after coming to a full stop (e.g., stop sign) and then pulling away again. The light and chime come on for only 5 or 10 seconds before stopping all on it's own. One suggestion was that the parking brake pedal was sagging, but pulling up on the pedal does nothing (it's up all the way and doesn't budge). I've also read that a leaking master cylinder may cause the light and alarm to activate, but I can't see any evidence of leaks when I examine the MC.

Well today I was happy go lucky on my way to work everything was going fine then all of a sudden this car in front of me slows down. Okay then I go to speed back up and my car was still crunk but I lose power I could not accelerate at all. So I had to coast to the side of the road and I put the car in park to see if it will allow me to accelerate in a different gear and when I do that.
The car shuts off then I go to crank it back up the first time and I got nothing then I wait a couple of seconds then try it again. It cranks up but still cant accelerate until I raise the engine then I can finally move. I was able to do about 65 mph to get to work but this happened two more times before I got back home that night. The car is a 2000 and has 220,000 miles on it.
I took the car to a part store to see why the service engine light was on. They told me it was a bad or faulty EGR valve but this was the first time the service engine light has flashed before.

For some reason the MAF Sensor always goes bad on my car. I've had to replace it a few times already. Any better quality MAF sensor I can buy. Sometimes if I clean the sensor it will work again but otherwise I have to replace it.

My car has no headliner at all. No foam, nothing, just bare metal. I have yet to find a headliner for it, nor do i want to shell out big bucks for it. So, how could I go about making a new one from scratch? or maybe a way to cover it up. Adding some sort of insulation would work too, as winter is approaching. Just something that looks nice is ok with me.

92 Bonneville SSE that has been giving us some problems. 2 weeks ago I left the house and upon turning left the car just died. I had a horrible time getting it restarted. I finally did and drove it home. Put some gas in it, thinking it was low, it is very sensitive to this and started it up and it ran fine. The next week driving home, turned around another corner and it died again. I would get it started and it would drive 50-100 yards and die again. Finally made it home and has been driving fine until today. Went to work and came out to go home tonight and it would not start. It cranks like it wants to start but will not. After some troubleshooting, there seems to be no spark coming from the coils. The coils were replaced 2 years ago, along with the module and the MAF sensor.

My car has a little over 200k on it. It does have new brakes on the front. I can hear the wheels squeak when I drive. It only does it sometimes, but i can hear it the most going around 30 MPH but it will speed up as I speed up, etc. Like I said it only does it sometimes. What it is. I bought it after brakes were put on, btw.

In the process of resurrecting my 93 SSEI after running at idle for awhile the engine was pretty hot. I noticed the fans never came on. I unplugged the temp sensor and both came on. So would the problem be the temp sensor, thermostat, or relay. I am not sure what the actual engine temp was because my Cluster only works when it wants to, usually when its warmed up and going down the highway or when I mat the throttle.

I noticed last night on my way home from work that my headlights were flickering. I looked and also noticed my amp meter was also fluxuating. The car seemed to be running fine asside from the lights kept flickering. It did not make a difference what RPMs I was running, or even if the car was moving. I have a 1994 Bonneville with charging problems. When started the gage on the dash might go up to 14 and stay there or not charge at all. The car at times while driving will charge then not charge and then charge again it is all over the place. I have put on a new battery, Alt. and starter still the same thing. I have had the car at Battery Specialist and they said it's in the wiring. I have put a new harness on and still the same thing.

I need to put a starter in my v6. Is it fairly simple or will i have to jack up the motor the problem is it starts fine when cold but after you drive it for a short distance and shut it off it has a hard time starting.
