As the title says.
* Remote won't work
* Handle above license plate won't work
* Lever in front door by the gas cap lever won't work
* Only thing that works are physically putting the key in the trunk opener and also emergency latch inside the trunk
What gives?
I have a 2006 Sonata. The trunk will not open with remote, latch or key. What do I do? There isnt a vallet switch.
View 1 RepliesMy latch wont open at all! When i first bought the car the trunk would open but Im not sure what had happened to it. The key doesn't work at all but every time I press the button on my key too open it or from the button on the floor it makes the noise that it unlocked but its still shut??!!?! Maybe I thought it was the fuse but I had changed fuse 15 still nothing any body experienced this before seems too be a common problem. Should I just go through the front and take the panels off for the hatch and diagnose whats wrong with it?
View 1 RepliesI just bought 2008 hyundai accent with 51,000 miles and it drives great. Only issue so far is the trunk latch sticks when i open it, and i have to unstick it to close. I ordered an OEM handle from the dealer in hopes that it's the part i need. Any tips on how to replace. I pulled the trim off to look under there and spray some lubricant on it. But not sure how complicated the latch will be to replace.
View 13 RepliesBought a used 2007 Azera Limited last week. Yesterday, the car was parked outside and there were thunderstorms but I didn't hear the car alarm go off. Today, I was unable to get into my car. The locks wont open from the remote or using the key. Wonder whats wrong !
Even the emergency alarm (red button on the remote) won't work. I can see a red blinking light from the top of the dash that indicates that the car is locked.
My 2007 Azera trunk no longer stays open. In fact, if I open it the trunk lid will come crashing down. I assume that there are struts and/or a spring that has failed.
View 6 RepliesI have Sonata 06 3.3L V6, vacuum getting confirmed code p0171 system too lean bank 1,and pending faults are both lean and rich on both banks and also at idle. i check vacuum leaks but no luck, one thing I observed when I drove car at high speed only 3000 rpm or above LTFT 1 corrected to 0. I am using torque app.
I can not open my trunk through remote key, it is opening with driver side switch, trunk lid latch is unlocked position, remote key is working fine with doors.?
I'm having a problem with my trunk not opening with my remote it opens with the latch inside the car and with the key , is their any thing I can do to get the remote to open the trunk? The remote works fine because I can hear the noise of when it's suppose to open and it locks the doors fine but it just doesn't open the trunk.
View 6 RepliesI purchased a 2006 V-8 several months ago, and am enjoying it greatly. One thing I noticed after I bought the car is that the cabin trunk switch does not work to open the trunk. I was not too concerned since the key switch worked, so I figured I'd get the dealer to fix it when I next took it in for servicing. Well, now the trunk button won't work on any of my keys either. I think I may have held the button down too long and then it froze after trying again several times. So the bottom line is that I cannot open the trunk. Just to be clear the trunk is closed, so any remedy that requires that the trunk be open is impractical.

View 1 RepliesI have an '01 Focus Wagon. I've had this problem with the latching mechanism for a while, but it's gotten worse as time progresses. The latch catches and closes the door. The trunk isn't going to open, but it does not close fully. As a result, the door ajar light is always on my console. I used to fix it by manually closing the latch with by hand and then re-opening the latch. It closed almost every time after I did that. But now, even that is not working.
View 2 RepliesI have a light flickering on and off that claims the door is open, after a few months and a lot of testing I have come to the assumption that the sensor in my trunk hatch is sending a relay to the computer as if the door is open.... I can't find a latch sensor or relay for this thing, just the striker plate and the wiring that unlocks the switch as well as the wiring for the rear wiper blade....

View 19 RepliesWhen you press your remote, trunk will stay closed and won't open. Must use the lever under the seat for opening it. What can cause this issue.
Battery is new. Also there is some another issue, didn't look it yet, one of the plate lamp is not working while trunk is closed. When you lift up your trunk it will begin work, when you close - no work.I assume there is some wire connection problem, but how it might affect the opening a trunk?
I have a 2008 Passat Komfort. About 2 weeks ago I went to open the trunk and nothing happened. Tried using the button next to the gas door open and still nothing, remote doesn't work, button doesn't work neither does pushing the emblem. I have tried both sets of keys and nothing.

View 3 RepliesThe remote trunk release as well as the trunk release lever inside my 2001.5 GLS V6 do not pop the trunk anymore so I suspect the motor is gone. I took the trunk cover off and got to the motor. I can't tell from looking at the motor if it is bad or not but I suspect it is. How I can test this to see if it is bad?
View 1 RepliesWhen I went to unlock my trunk hatch last night the remote did not work. I then attempted to unlock the doors....still no joy. I attempted to lock the doors....nothing. I then manually opened the door, fearing my battery was dead (after reading the numerous battery threads) and the put the key in the ignition and it started right up? I then took the key out and locked the door using the reote. I unlocked the door and opened the back hatch with the remote. The only thing I could think was my step mother had unlocked her Dodge Durango that was parked next to mine...and maybe this confused my poor touareg!?

When I hit the open button on the remote control, sometimes the trunk door doesn't fully un-hitche and it remains locked. I can completely close the door again and try again and it still won't open.
View 6 Replies1995 Aurora Remote entry fails. Keys were in pocket and I got wet while surf fishing... It worked last night coming home but this morning it fails to open doors or trunk.. I checked batteries,, 3 volts each... Did I short out the unit?? How can I check that out and if so, other than a dealer where can I find a new remote entry device...What has to be done to the unit to tune it to my car..
