I am trying to change my 2006 azera's transmisson fluid.
I tried to find the location of transmission fluid drain plug bolt, but i can't find either in the service manual nor owner's manual.

I'm about to do a transmission fluid change on my 2009 Toyota Corolla and couldn't find the transmission fluid drain plug. Google search revealed various answers - located on transmission pan - located on transmission itself. Looking for a picture of where it's located for a 10th gen Corolla?

Question: Where exactly the evaporator drain plug is located for my truck?
When I start the AC there is a noticeable musty smell from the vents that goes away after a few minutes. A fellow lexus owner friend told me I needed to purchase the Toyota AC Refresher kit which will clean out the musty smell. I bought the kit from Lexus Sewell and found a YouTube video highlighting how to use the kit.
Step 1 is to use a can of foam to clean the AC evaporator coils. To do this one must connect the can to the evaporator drain plug. The video states to find the evaporater drain plug to run your AC for a while and look for the condensation dripping out of the plug and that is where you plug in. However for me the weather has not been warm enough yet this year to allow for the condensation to occur.

I have heard 36ft lbs, I just feel like that is a lot and want to confirm. Any horror stories on snapping these plugs? I'm planning to get new crush washers.
Any experience with just using a fluid extractor to do multiple drain and fills from the dipstick? I've heard the tubing can sometimes melt/break off, but was considering this route to not have to deal with snapping a drain plug.
Tried searching, tried checking my hanyes manual and my factory service manual I have in pdf, neither lists a torque, or at least that I can find.

View 3 Replies2007 Azera 120k miles. Have noticed first thing in the morning when shifting from 4th to 5th gear, I hear a clunk.. Yesterday I heard two clunks when downshifting from 5th to 4th. Tried shifting the car manually today and was able to replicate the problem. After 15 minutes of driving, the problem is gone.Never seems to happen in the afternoon after car has been driven.Transmission fluid is full. Have always changed at the 60k intervals.Fluid is not burnt. Light pink color.
What could possibly be causing this? Is this likely to get worse? How long might I have before the car might become not drivable ? I ask this because I have been considering trading it in for a new car. Now seems to be a good time to buy a 2016 car, since the 2017"s are almost out.
Car has 67k. It did this before when the car was under 50k. took it in , got it documented and they could find nothing. Last 3 days when I punch on the freeway to pass someone, the car goes in to neutral. Manually down shifting does not work. I had to pull to the side of the freeway today for a few minutes before it would engage. Felt like I was in a very dangerous situation.

On cold mornings if I do a sharp right turn (Left turns just naturally are not sharp, so I don't know if it's both ways). I get a rumbling noise in the transaxle. It sounds like a rumble, if it's limit slip noise it's pretty bad. It does not seem to be a problem in the summer. Dealer found nothing but if they don't do it while it's cold they won't hear it.

View 14 RepliesI had my 10k service done at the dealership earlier this year, currently at 16.5K miles. My GTI was parked at my parents' garage for a week while I was away for travel. When I returned and went to move my car, I noticed a puddle of oil under the GTI. Since it was a sunday, there were no dealership service departments open, so I went to a quick change oil place and they told me that there is a leak at the drain plug. The tech noticed the oil was low, drained the oil and replaced the drain plug, and when they filled the oil, it immediately started leaking at the drain plug. They added teflon tape to temporarily work with the leak. I will be scheduling a service appointment at the dealer I had my 10k service done.
Have a MK6 and experienced a leak at the drain plug? Could this leak be due to the dealership service tech over tightening the drain plug at my 10k service? The quick oil change place did note that I came in with a leak from the drain plug, in case the dealership tries to blame the oil change place for the leak.
Where exactly is the temperature sender/sensor is located?
