The middle console that serve as a little box...very similar to the one in my 06 Sonata. In my Sonata it makes no squeaks of any sort.
Before I dump a gallon of wd-40 on this puppy, is there any remedy for this? It makes a little annoying squeak.
My first initial thought is to lightly lubricate the hinge that makes it go up and down.
Have had a persistent squeak in my passenger front door since buying it used 9 months sgo. Tried WD40, even have had dealer install 2 new hinges.. but still have the loud squeak (starts about 1/2 way opening the door).

View 1 RepliesOk, I can live with little things like the drivers side pillar not being completed seated and flush, or the drivers seat rocking a little from time to time.
But the thing that annoys me the most is the center console armrest lid squeaking every time you lean against it. I drove 3 SFS's before I bought mine. All of them squeaked.
Any fix for this to stop it from squeaking? Besides going to the dealer and getting the run around.
How do you remove the armrest storage part of the center console? Ive undone the two screws by the shifter and the whole thing shakes but it doesn't come out...

This morning I opened my center console armrest to tuck the iPod cord back in, when I went to lower the armrest it only dropped about 1/5th the total amount it would need to close. I fooled with it for long enough to know If I continue to apply more pressure something is going to break. The movement it has is smooth until the point it abruptly stops. I checked the owners manual with no luck, called the dealer service center which came up empty handed as well.
View 8 RepliesSince I purchased my 2010 Prius about a week ago the center console top never slid completely forward. It slides to about where the cup holder insert is and stops. I've taken the cup holder out and it still stops in the same spot.
View 19 RepliesI have the 60/40 seat with fold down "jump seat" that has the 2 cup holders and console. In the down position, it squeaks something fierce on any kind of a bumpy/rough surface. On paved roads it's fine.

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to remove the middle console vent cover to install a kuda mount. It says to pry a bit with plastic tools right to the right of the vent between the plastic and the leather/pleather. Getting nervous and don't want to crack the cover or damage anything.

View 4 RepliesTen months ago the dealer replaced my front end suspension as the noise was getting worse. Everything but the shocks were replaced. Good news for me and after the replacement the noise was gone.
Six thousand miles later after a trip to south Florida and many bumpy roads the noise is back and with vengeance. It now sounds like a rusty front end noise. I just about given up on this noise issue. The 06 is out of warranty, no recalls, Hyundai knows the problem is on the 2006 cars and now I have the same problem yet it might not be the struts but maybe the shocks. The shocks bad after 35,000 miles. I can't see it but maybe. I need to get them looked at first to see if that is the issue.
There is a black mark in the middle console near the cd player. I don't recall how it got there, but if this is a scuff mark that I can rub off, or if it is the paint or something below and the silver area was rubbed off.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2006 Azera 3.3L. 72000 KMS. I have a heavy grinding noise from front end. Can't tell if left right or both sides. Changes pitch (heavier) as I speed up. Not related to eng RPM, only road speed. Is the heaviest starting at 60km/h to 80km/h then seems to level off. Begins (noticeably) around 15-20 km/h. I believe its bearing noise but have been told can be transmission or brakes. Had it on a lift with wheels off and in drive. There was no noise at slow speed. Appears to be getting worse as the days go by.
View 1 RepliesON smooth highway at varying speeds I can hear a rhythmic bumping/thumping noise from the front end of our 2008 Limited with 26,000 miles. It is speed sensitive but I can't tell if it would be a wheel bearing going bad or tire noise from the stock Michelins or maybe one out of balance though I don't feel anything as much as I hear something. View 26 RepliesWell after months of no real noise from my suspension the pot hole of the Spring and steal plates in the summer have caused a problem with the suspension on my Hyundai Azera. I was in the car with my lady friend a few weeks back and noticed a rusty noise coming from the right front side of the car. Sound like something not just right. When I got home I walked to the front of the car and pushed down on the hood and I did hear a funny sound like a squeak cracking sound on the left side.
Still under warranty I took the car up to the dealer and explained the problem. The last time I took the car to the dealer they didn't hear anything but this time I made sure to tell them that there is something wrong with the front end and drive it slowly and you will hear a cracking rusty squeaky sound. Sure enough they found something and the links needs to be taken off and new ones put on so they need to order the parts. Thursday I will have them put on and I hope that is problem. Links what in the heck are links? It takes about a hour in a half to put them on. Just by going over a little bump I can hear noise, or even backing out of the drive.
I am considering the purchase of an 08 Super Duty, however the truck I am looking at has a center console between the front seat. I need seating for six and like to swap a leather middle seat with fold down armrest for the console that I can't use. View 9 RepliesI have an 07 GS350 RWD, 132K miles.
Symptoms: Very audible squeak from suspension front and rear (not as bad in the rear) when going over bumps. It happens mostly on the driver side. I can replicate the squeak when I push down on the car in the front. It only happens when the weather is warm, lately when it's been 60 degrees or less, it doesn't make any noise really.
Another squeak I'm hearing is when I get in the car first thing after it's been sitting a while, there's a squeak that's coming from mid-body area (I think), and happens when I turn right, transferring weight to the driver side.
I've searched and saw numerous threads but haven't really been able to get a clear idea of what may be causing this. I did have someone lube the control arm bushing (at least I think we did) and the noise did not go away. Car feels smooth, but I wouldn't rule out shocks as a culprit. I'm trying to get ideas and narrow things down so I can start hunting for it when I have free time.
Got an 03 f250 supercab, and looking to get rid of the old front bench seat for 2 regular front seats and installing a big middle console, will this be kinda hard? I got in my truck now the driver seat is seperate from the 2 seater bench seat and it has the flip down middle console to where you can flip it up for somebody to sit in the middle or flip it down for the cup holders etc.. I want to get rid of that and just have the 2 front seats and an big middle console. I think some of the 1998-2003 f150 come with this set up
View 3 RepliesCool weather has finally arrived in Michigan and brought with it the first interior squeak for my Touareg. I have isolated the squeak to the center console. It happens on rough roads (plenty of those in MI) or when I rest my right arm on the console.
It appears that the console lid flexes a bit even when latched. I'm thinking about adding a couple of the clear, flexible pads to the bottom, front corners of the console lid to see if that will eliminate the problem.
I have a jump seat in my 08 f350 and am looking for a center console. My interior is black and tan and the jump seat is all black.
