Have had a persistent squeak in my passenger front door since buying it used 9 months sgo. Tried WD40, even have had dealer install 2 new hinges.. but still have the loud squeak (starts about 1/2 way opening the door).
View 6 RepliesWe have been tolerating a bad squeak in the driver's side front door upon opening, closing (any type of swinging of the door). Dealer tried lubricating it with no success. They told us that they would order a new hinge and "hope" that resolves it. I am a little worried about this. Would you trust your dealer to remove and re-install the door or just live with the squeak?
View 5 RepliesThe middle console that serve as a little box...very similar to the one in my 06 Sonata. In my Sonata it makes no squeaks of any sort.
Before I dump a gallon of wd-40 on this puppy, is there any remedy for this? It makes a little annoying squeak.
My first initial thought is to lightly lubricate the hinge that makes it go up and down.
My 14 C2 has this persistent rattle from the glove box hinge. It's that single plastic hinge extender for smoothly opening the glove box. I've taken it out and re-settled it into the box socket but the rattle is starting again when going over bumps... Is it just mine?
View 3 RepliesI noticed earlier this afternoon that when I opened my front passenger door to reach in and get my phone out, the hinge creaked/squeaked. Everytime I would open/close the door it would make the sound. This door has only been opened about 5 times since I bought the car on April 30th. I have never heard tell of this on a new car, so it is disappointing. Had I had a passenger in the car and they heard that, well it would have been a little embarrassing on a brand new car. It sounded like a 30 year old car that had never had its door hinges oiled. It may just need some grease or something, but I would think this should have been lubed properly during assembly.

So it's almost been two years since the last post in regards to this but I thought I would share a similar experience I'm going through with my 2007 GS 350. 2 months ago I broke down and bought a set of hinges for the right rear door because it got to the point that you physically had to walk with the door to close it ($400 parts, labor, paint). I am now having a similar experience with the driver door and it's getting worse every month.
Under your Prius, you have "guards" made of plastic and held in place by fasteners that unscrew off but press onto the bolt studs coming down from the metal. They basically shield the underside from debris but have holes to let water flow back out.
I had a persistent squeak for the last couple of weeks that was really annoying me. So, I set out to see what I could do about it. I thought I'd have to add an adhesive pad as a "bumper" between two parts, but when I tapped on the guard (reproducing the noise), I could tell there was a lot of pea gravel in there.
It took a while to get the first fastener off. They don't just "unscrew" that easily. The slightest pressure and you wind up pushing them back on. So, I had to work with two tools with one being a screwdriver gently prying it away from the panel so each turn made it come farther off the bolt. Once the first one was done, the rest were easy. Three in total on each side.
I got a cereal bowl full of pea gravel out of each guard. I was shocked that so much road debris was trapped up on there, but this stuff was big enough to not flow out with the water.
My wife and I have an 08 Azera GLS. Been to the dealer for a few things. I guess the biggest was a TSB about Timing chain guides. Also replaced the TPS sensor. Transmission had a down shift shutter.
My question is the left front door creaks when open all the way. Mechanic a dealership said he had the door off of the car and believe that "the metal layers the hinges bolt through have become slightly separated and rubbing or creaking when reaching the end of its travel". He believes they will have weld the body or something. There is only 12000 km on the Azera.
I have a 2006 Azera and recently had the small part of the door handle fall off (part #83652E). I got a new part but wanted to know how easy it is to install this or whether I should have the dealer do it. Do I need a special tool to remove the door panel/clips or can I do it with something else. Once inside, is it just as simple as screwing the new part on through a hole in the door?
View 2 RepliesI own a 2006 Hyundai Azera and for the last year, I've had a door lock issue. My driver's side door lock will not lock the door. It sometimes engages it slightly so I don't think it is electrical. It happened after I accidentally left the windows cracked during summer and there was a huge t-storm from which some rain water got on the door lock mechanism. Could it be the door lock actuator or perhaps a spring got loose?
View 6 RepliesI have a 2008 with 21,000 miles on it, the arm rest has a completely worn down as if it has a 100,000 miles on it. Also I took car back to dealership because the rear speaker vibrates at the sound of music. I like this car but it doesnt seem to be built as well as the Sonata I had before it. more trips to the dealer.
View 6 RepliesThe driver side door lock doesn't work electronically. It locks and unlocks with the key and the knob on the inside but not with the remote and central locking. Though when I lock it, it does make a sound and the knob moves a little. Need to confirm that it is in fact the actuator ...
View 2 RepliesI am in the process of fixing the front end clunk on my 2009 Azera. Clunk is coming mostly from the front right. So far I have replaced the Strut, Strut mount and top control arm. Still same problem.
View 4 RepliesTen months ago the dealer replaced my front end suspension as the noise was getting worse. Everything but the shocks were replaced. Good news for me and after the replacement the noise was gone.
Six thousand miles later after a trip to south Florida and many bumpy roads the noise is back and with vengeance. It now sounds like a rusty front end noise. I just about given up on this noise issue. The 06 is out of warranty, no recalls, Hyundai knows the problem is on the 2006 cars and now I have the same problem yet it might not be the struts but maybe the shocks. The shocks bad after 35,000 miles. I can't see it but maybe. I need to get them looked at first to see if that is the issue.
I have a 2006 Azera 3.3L. 72000 KMS. I have a heavy grinding noise from front end. Can't tell if left right or both sides. Changes pitch (heavier) as I speed up. Not related to eng RPM, only road speed. Is the heaviest starting at 60km/h to 80km/h then seems to level off. Begins (noticeably) around 15-20 km/h. I believe its bearing noise but have been told can be transmission or brakes. Had it on a lift with wheels off and in drive. There was no noise at slow speed. Appears to be getting worse as the days go by.
View 1 RepliesON smooth highway at varying speeds I can hear a rhythmic bumping/thumping noise from the front end of our 2008 Limited with 26,000 miles. It is speed sensitive but I can't tell if it would be a wheel bearing going bad or tire noise from the stock Michelins or maybe one out of balance though I don't feel anything as much as I hear something. I guess I can take it to dealer to see if they can diagnose

View 3 RepliesWell after months of no real noise from my suspension the pot hole of the Spring and steal plates in the summer have caused a problem with the suspension on my Hyundai Azera. I was in the car with my lady friend a few weeks back and noticed a rusty noise coming from the right front side of the car. Sound like something not just right. When I got home I walked to the front of the car and pushed down on the hood and I did hear a funny sound like a squeak cracking sound on the left side.
Still under warranty I took the car up to the dealer and explained the problem. The last time I took the car to the dealer they didn't hear anything but this time I made sure to tell them that there is something wrong with the front end and drive it slowly and you will hear a cracking rusty squeaky sound. Sure enough they found something and the links needs to be taken off and new ones put on so they need to order the parts. Thursday I will have them put on and I hope that is problem. Links what in the heck are links? It takes about a hour in a half to put them on. Just by going over a little bump I can hear noise, or even backing out of the drive.
We, just today I went to fill up the 2006 prius and noticed the fuel door hinge broke. The only thing keeping the door on is the plastic fuel cap cable.
