I have a dead battery and the transmission lever is locked into Park, how do I overide to neutral in order to push the vehicle out of the garage for jump start?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2007. So as the title says, my battery is completely dead, and my trunk is locked. I have the master key, but for some reason, it won't unlock the trunk. It will unlock the front door, but not the trunk. The switch on the dash won't release the trunk because the battery is dead, and the seat release is in the locked position, so I can't get in my trunk from inside the cabin either. This is an incredibly inconvenient situation, because I have jumper cables right there inside of my trunk.

I searched for a prior post on this without success. I have a serious problem with my '04 V-8 transmission shift lever being stuck in Park in cooler weather. Ny wife is the primary driver, and on some cooler mornings it is almost impossible for her to move the shift lever out of park. She has to let the car warm up a bit, and then move the lever around a bit with all her might before it will finally move out of park. The dealer can't figure out what is wrong. It only appens when the temperature is below about 50 degrees, and with winter approaching, frequent problems lie ahead.

Hybrid battery has been replaced with a used one and all systems seem to work fine except the shift lever in the "Park" position does not lock the transmission. No big problem as long as the Parking Brake works. Preliminary investigation does not reveal any easy fix.

View 24 RepliesFor those of us who owns 1988 735IL and battery died and doors are locked and tried to lift the passenger door and turn the key 100 times to engage emergency unlock and did not work below solution works good.
FYI the trunk unlocks and opens with the key by just placing the key and turning then push the button
This my friend is ingenius tried it after I've been working to unlock the door with a dead battery for 6 hours even AAA don't have a clue (Slim Jim is discontinued due to side airbag. Lock smith would do the same by turning the key while lever is up position but the lock knob button needs to come up about an inch and a quarter. Good luck with that.
Solution I did
- open the trunk by with the key. Yes the trunk will open
- pry the trunk light and locate positive and negative post.
- remove the electronic connector protector
- removing bulb not necessary
- Jump Start device 300AMP or a 12 Volt power source for cars
- simple wire from an old electronic device
- have to wires for red and black
- Stripped it to expose metal then connect positive and negative to the trunk light connector (pay attention red and black) goes to red and black of the battery source
- set polarity on the jump start 300amp gadget
- it gives enough juice to the system
- then turn the key on the passenger/driver key
- it works

View 3 RepliesIf my prius 12V starting battery is dead, and my keyless entry prius is locked, would I be able to jump start my vehicle when I cannot enter it to open the doors, hood or trunk ? The problem is I do not know if the keyless entry is powered off the hybrid battery or the 12V starting battery. If the keyless entry is powered from the hybrid battery, then this is not an issue.
However if the keyless entry is working off the starting battery and that battery is dead and the vehicle is locked, I do not know of how to open the door or the trunk or the hood to jump the vehicle as I cannot access any place in the vehicle suitable to give it a jump start.
It happen again for the second time in a few weeks. I popped the little cover and pressed the override which worked fine. I am curious if there is an adjustment or if this portends thinks to come?
View 2 RepliesSo I went out to start my truck today after setting for 2 weeks and nothing. (2008 F150 XLT 4.6 31k miles) bought may 08. Anyway no lights or anything, battery was dead as a doorknob. I was just wondering if my battery was on its way out or if I have other problems. Oh and something else I couldn't get it out of park (column shift) until I hooked a battery charger to it. I was going to pull it out of the barn to jump it off but couldn't get out of park.
View 9 RepliesDriver seat tilts forward all by itself sometimes when I park the car. I thought I read a thread in the past that someone else has this issue. 2007 Azera Limited and she has 90,000 mile on her. I have never held a car this long. That means I like it.

I drive a 2006 Hyundai azera. I cant get under the hood because my hood latch broke inside my car. What does the code mean for recharge battery? Was it because it was raining and maybe got wet??
View 1 RepliesLast Wednesday, I went to the parking lot after a lunch meeting and my 08 Azera would not turnover. I assumed it was a bad battery (53,000 miles on the original) so I replaced it in the lot (The original tested dead at the parts house). After connecting the terminals of the new battery, the car would still not turnover. It wouldn't even click. I called road side assistance and when they arrived the car started fine by just turning the key - no charger/jump system was attached . I drove the car the rest of the day and put it in the garage that evening.
The next morning, the car would not turnover again - not even a click. I called roadside assistance again and they came out and connected a portable charger and it turned right over. I drove the car to the dealer and it continued to start without issue and they were unable to diagnose any problem. They did a parasitic draw test but the new battery continued to test as fully charged. They also checked the starter and it appeared to be functioning properly. I parked the car that evening and the next morning it wouldn't turnover - not even a click.

View 4 Replies2007 Azera 120k miles. Have noticed first thing in the morning when shifting from 4th to 5th gear, I hear a clunk.. Yesterday I heard two clunks when downshifting from 5th to 4th. Tried shifting the car manually today and was able to replicate the problem. After 15 minutes of driving, the problem is gone.Never seems to happen in the afternoon after car has been driven.Transmission fluid is full. Have always changed at the 60k intervals.Fluid is not burnt. Light pink color.
What could possibly be causing this? Is this likely to get worse? How long might I have before the car might become not drivable ? I ask this because I have been considering trading it in for a new car. Now seems to be a good time to buy a 2016 car, since the 2017"s are almost out.

I tried to find the location of transmission fluid drain plug bolt, but i can't find either in the service manual nor owner's manual.
