Just picked up my 2013 Tech. Noticed a whistling sound at the rear window at 50 mph. It is constant at that speed. If i press the recirculate air button to recirculate the air in the cabin it stops. Bring in fresh air and the noise it there again... I sat in the back seat today and tried to find where it was coming from, not able to pinpoint but it is definitely around the back window.
View 13 RepliesThe weather here in AB Canada is very cold lately -30oC. I have noticed a whistling noise from the front window defrost area. The auto feature also annoys me as the fan goes full throttle when I start the vehicle and it isn't even warm. I wish it would scale up as the engine was warm only. As well, I am finding the inside of my t-reg fogs easily. Yes it's cold, and I do park in a heated garage, but even after being out for a while, I still get some fogging.
View 3 RepliesMany months ago I had a rattle in my 13 Azera. Of course when I took it back to the dealer they heard it but when I left it was gone. I had a scheduled service to have it looked at but the rattle never came back.
The last two weeks it is back louder than before. I thought it might be coming from the passenger seat belt housing on the side of the door but now it sounds like it might be coming from the passage side rear door or maybe the sun roof. Hard to tell yet my girlfriend was in the car last night said it wasn't coming from the passenger side seat belt housing sounded more like the rear of the car.
So going to make an appointment to get it looked at next week. I hate rattles! I looked all over the car yesterday after had her cleaned up. My trunk is empty, so not sure what it could be.
Over the last few weeks, my '12 Azera has developed some sort of noise I assume to be from the suspension, particularly on the right front. When the car sits for a long amount of time, there is a bumping/rattling noise when driving it. It takes a long time for it to go away. If I drive it a bit, turn it off for a bit, then drive it again, it won't do it any more.
I'm thinking it could be the strut mount bearing. I had a GM car that did the same thing and that was the problem. They replaced the strut mount and never did it again.
I've got a 2011 F350 Lariat crew cab and when i get up to 75 mph with a cross wind, there is a whistling noise. it sounds like a turbulent whistle as if its blowing across the ribbed portion down by the wipers. I tried to get audio but for some reason my phone wont pick up the noise, but its extremely loud at times. Sometimes it will wake up the kids if they're napping in the back seat.

View 3 RepliesI have a new 2013 Hyundai Sonata SE. At speeds of 50 mph or more, there is a high pitched whistling noise which seems to emanate from the passenger side windshield area. I believe the noise is caused by a faulty windshield seal. I recall a similar whistling noise when I had a windshield replaced on a vehicle years ago by. I called Safelite Autoglass back, and to their credit, they sent someone out to re-seat the windshield, which resolved the problem. So I'm assuming the dealer will be able to do the same. I hesitate to call it wind noise because all cars have that to one extent or another.
View 9 RepliesWhenever I start or turn off the car and the steering column moves into its position at the time, it makes an odd noise. It's beginning to do it all the time. It's really hard to describe what it sounds like. Is this normal or could lead to another issue down the road?
View 4 RepliesI'm tired of being told my 37,000 rattle trap is normal. Everytime I start this car a work there are people in the parking lot, how embarrassing it is. Rattle, sounds like parts flying around inside the motor. But this is normal, go out on the lot and start every new Azera on the lot, no noise at all, but it's normal.
Found this link, others are having this and we need to start making more noise just like our cars. Those of you who don't hear this you either have too low miles so far or you don't put your windows down when starting the car.

I have a 2012 Azera and when I enter and exit the vehicle, the driver seat will automatically move forward and backward. I have noticed that it just started making a loud clicking noise when moving forward and backward. Is this a motor issue, something under the seat, or maybe just a lubricant issue?
View 21 RepliesI just took delivery of a 2015 pewter gray base azera. It is my second one as I purchased a leftover 2013 last year. The sonatas had to go just not comfortable enough for me. Between 1000-1500 rpm whether in motion or in park I get a sound like an owl hooting. my 2013 does not do it.i can make it do it any time I want. This is really annoying in traffic it actually can be heard with the radio on. the dealer said it is normal and let me drive another new one on a test drive and it does it too. Almost sounds like it could be a harmonic noise in the intake or exhaust. Going to see if I can pinpoint it this weekend. I am very disappointed as my 2013 has 36k on it and other than the rattle at start up no issues.

After I drive about ten or twelve miles it goes away and diminishes into a hissing noise. Is it possible the fuel pump is failing? I have a 2005 trailblazer with 105000 miles.

The sound happens at all speeds. The sound is the worse at very slow speeds; the sound is also very bad at very slow speeds when I touch the brakes and turn the wheel.I looked at back tires from outside the car (not underneath the car). The mechanical set-up of back tires look very different than that of the front tires. The back tires have metal parts touching each other while the front tires do not.
View 3 RepliesMy Ranger has 296,000 miles on it. Most everything has been replaced except the u-joints. It's a 2wd 2.5L with an automatic. The motor was replaced at 228,000 with a used motor with 52,000 miles. The transmission has about 60,000 miles on it. All the bearings in the rear end were replaced about 20,000 miles ago. It has the most annoying whistling noise coming from the rear only sometimes. I don't know if it's the brakes being misadjusted or a bearing with a burr in it. It happens at random times but it's such a high pitched whistling you know everyone on the road can hear it too. There is also a driveline vibration, very minor though when over 60. However, I've had the drums checked and even had the wheels balanced many times. My friend said the ujoint grease could be dried up, but the whistling noise only happens at random, the virbation is anytime you're at highway speeds. It's not a violent vibration just enough to tell that it's not a brand new truck anymore. What it could be?
View 2 RepliesI've been noticing sometimes that when you try to roll up the right rear window, it won't work. It goes down fine, but sometimes, the button won't make it go up. I'm not sure if it's just the rear switch or both the rear and the driver's switch.
View 5 RepliesI am wondering how much fan noise is normal from the passenger rear vent while driving.
My fan is on almost constantly and it sounds like wind coming in through the rear window but it is actually the fan from the vent. I have had passengers in the front seat ask what the noise is coming from the rear. I have taken it into the dealer 3 times and they say that is normal for Prius' to have that noise all the time.
My Prius is 2011, bought on Feb 2, 11.
I have 5000 miles and the noise has been present from the onset of owning the vehicle. I am really frustrated because it sounds excessive to me. Is your fan on most of the time and significantly audible?
On both my front windshield as well as my rear window I see small shiny speckles in the glass when the sun is shining thru the glass particularly in early morning and later in the day when the sun angle is low. At first I thought it was tree sap but a thorough cleaning did nothing to improve it. So I used a claybar on the window thinking it may be some other type of contaminant and that did nothing either. The speckles are still there. I have not tried polishing the windshield and rear window.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2011 sonata and the rear window film is bubbling/peeling off the window to the point where it is hard to see through. The car is a month passed the warranty. I can't tell if this film is part of the defroster grid, or something separate that can be peeled off easily and replaced, or if I need a new window.
View 16 RepliesI recently purchased a 2011 Subaru Outback and I'm having difficulty seeing out the back window when I'm parallel parking or backing up. The rear window is up high and narrow. I use the side mirrors as much as I can, but feel disoriented when I can see the car behind me. I've checked out some camera systems online, but I haven't see great reviews for them. I also contacted Subaru to see if I could get one installed after market, as they only included their rear view mirror camera on the high end Limited edition that included the moon roof which I didn't want, but they can't install it after market.
View 1 RepliesWas out cleaning my windows today, and had the key turned to the accessory position so I could lower and raise the windows while I cleaned them. The passenger side rear window wouldn't lower (either from the switch on the passenger door itself, or the switch on the master panel on the driver's door.) The other 3 windows worked just fine. I immediately started planning on when I could get the car to the dealer
On a lark, I started the car to see if that made a difference and the passenger side rear window worked just fine. I then shut off the car, put the key back to the accessory position, and the window continued to work just fine.
Is it normal for the rear defroster to only defrost the middle of the window. The top and bottom don't defrost. Does this have to do with the antenna?
