Azera HG (2011-16) :: Cannot Keep Inside Of Windshield Clean
Aug 4, 2015
I've had my '12 Azera for about 6 weeks. One issue with the car is the inside of the windshield on the driver's side won't stay clean. I can clean it and the next day it has a film on it. The longer I leave it, the bigger the area gets. I've tried all different types of cleaners with no better results. I had a GM car that did this, was told it was from the gases escaping the plastic molding inside the car near the windshield. The Azera doesn't have that. I'm puzzled why it's doing it and how to stop it.

I'm tired of being told my 37,000 rattle trap is normal. Everytime I start this car a work there are people in the parking lot, how embarrassing it is. Rattle, sounds like parts flying around inside the motor. But this is normal, go out on the lot and start every new Azera on the lot, no noise at all, but it's normal.
Found this link, others are having this and we need to start making more noise just like our cars. Those of you who don't hear this you either have too low miles so far or you don't put your windows down when starting the car.

I need to clean the inside door handles badly on my Jetta. See pics. It seems that there outer layer of plastic is stained and rubbing off. I want to take this layer off completely, and protect it, but want to make sure I use something that's not harmful to the plastic.
Additionally, I need to re-glue a couple of trim pieces. I looked into trying to get replacement wood burl pieces, but VW stopped making them years ago, and I can't find them anywhere. My local dealer last sold a single piece a year ago for $303 (yes - a single piece - the driver door simple 1" strip; not the whole kit). So I'm going to try to re-glue the broken piece to try and make it look decent. I'm wondering if others have had experience doing this and can suggest the best type of glue.

Just got my second sc, after I crashed my first one and the little button that releases the wiper fluid to clean the windshield is gone, how I can find such a small part? Does the sc300/400 use the same wiper lever/arm as ours?

I don't suppose there is any easy way to clean this. I was going to remove a black cover directly above the bulbs but there is a notice on the black cover right behind it warning of tampering with air bag sensor. I assume its not in the front cover but looking further it doesn't look like I will have any access to the area I want to clean by removing it. 68k on 07 azera. Too soon for this,no?

When I first got my car I had an issue trying to keep the film off of the inside of the windshield. Even with Windex it would leave streaks. I found out that old newspaper worked best.
A couple of weekends ago I noticed that the dash part closest to the windshield looked like it was beginning to discolor ever so slightly. I grabbed a bottle of the Armor All interior spray, wet a rag and applied a thin film to this part of the dash and then the rest of the dash.
After the first day of sitting in the hot sun in an asphalt parking lot at work I again have a film on the windshield.

I've noticed that often in the morning, my Touareg has condensation forming on the inside of the front winshield. I don't drive the vehicle daily. I have looked for a moisture source inside of the vehicle but it is bone dry.

As stated in the title I'm having condensation on the inside of the windshield, but I only notice it when I get off work and go out to start my car (I work second shift and get off at 11:30pm) but when i go out in the morning or afternoon I don't notice any. I pretty much roll everywhere with my windows up so I'm not getting rain in it other than when i open the doors to get in and out.

I've noticed on a few recent cold mornings that there is frost on the INSIDE of my windshield as well as on the outside. I've had this car a couple of years, and this has never happened before with it.. or for that matter with any other car I've ever had. Why is this happening, and what can I do to prevent it from happening again? And if it does, how best do I get the frost off the inside of the windshield? The scraper doesn't work on the slight curvature.

i have noticed that with my 08 that occasionally when driving after a rain the windshield will fog up on the inside with the defroster on and set at roughly 73 deg. I also notice that under a/c auto occasionally the window will fog up a little right around the vents, just under normal driving.

I have a 2010 Sonata GLS 4 cyl and I have a problem with foggy windshield (on the inside). I have noticed it now and temperatures outside are about 85F with 70% humidity. I don't use AC, I just use defogger and my windshield gets foggy.
I also see water underneath the car coming from the front side, I am not sure if this is related. I googled a little bit the problem of foggy windshield and some say it could be broken heater core. Do you think it could be heater core?

I started my car this morning, and there was a lot of frost on the inside of the windshield. This had to be the result of humid air in contact with the cold windshield, and as the air is dry, the only source of humid air is from my breath. So, when I drive, I fill the interior of my car with warm, humid air, which freezes to the windshield.
I've decided that when I get home, I'll roll the windows down and let the fan blow for a few minutes to replace the warm humid air be replaced by cold air. If I am right, it would reduce frost on the inside of my windshield. It can't hurt, I guess.

I have a 2010 Subaru Forester and lately - it has on occasion had moisture on the inside of windshield - at the center and about 6 in. up and about 10 in wide. At first it was just moisture, but now has become something hard to wipe off with just my hand. The dealer has no clue. I had a bad heater core in a car years ago, could this be a similar problem.

Got into my car at lunch yesterday and when I went to scrape the outside to remove the frost, I realized the frost was on the inside. What may be causing this? I have a 2012 GTI.

Cooler weather here in bc now and my ranger is completely ice over in the morning. I get in and the inside of the windshield is also iced completely over. I turn on the defrost and fan and go outside to scrape. Then come back inside the truck and scrape the inside of my windshield. I have 3 big dogs inside the truck most of the day who fog up the windows so I usually open a window or put it on defrost. Also a small piece of the driver side door lining is missing.

I just took delivery of my Prius a few days ago, and I noticed a rectangular sticker on the inside of the windshield when I got home It is black (from the inside), and it is located in the top - left corner (when viewed from inside) It looks like it may be an RFID tag possibly something from the port to track vehicles as they are coming in?

I broke a needle inside one of the holes in one of the windshield nozzles. Call me ocd but it's really bugging me. I have to remove it somehow. I sprayed it with wd40 so it wouldn't get rusted in there. I tried a strong magnet but no go. How i can remove it.

I have a 2008 Mazda 3 with 63,000 km / 39 146 miles.I bought it last year used with 50,000 km / 31 068 miles. I park my car on the street.Last winter I noticed that I frequently got frost on the windshield on the inside of the car. Is there a way to stop this from happening?
This winter I want to avoid having to scrap the windshield on the inside with the heater on max.
Do installing a window deflector will work? I am thinking that if I leave one of the windows slightly open but covered with a window deflector that frost will not form on the inside of the windshield. Is this correct or just wishful thinking?
