Azera HG (2011-16) :: 2014 - CEL On / Car Will Not Go Over 30 MPH With Accelerator Down All The Way

I started my car last evening and it hesitated and balked and the check engine light came on. It started fine this morning, but would not go above 30mph even with accelerator down all the way. I checked the diagnostic codes from Bluelink and it said there is a possible condition with my Engine Control System and should be checked soon. The car only has 4,000 miles and has been fine until now.

I bought my wife a new 2014 Azera and we like it a lot but it seems to have a bounce at low speeds 0-20 mph, mainly when starting driving. It might seem to be a tire flat spot, but she only has 1,100 miles so far and it has always been there.

My 2014 Azera has a rattling on the driver's side. I'm pretty sure that when I open the door a half inch or so while driving the noise stops. It doesn't happen all the time and seem to vary in intensity. I'm having a hard time locating the source.

I had a low tire and TPMS light came on. I filled all tires to recommended settings + 1 lb. 34 lbs. The light still doesn't reset what can be done to reset it?

When I press slightly on the accelerator just to get the truck moving and than let off the engine stays at the higher RPM typically just over a 1000. This only happens in drive not reverse and everytime I just slightly step on the accelerator. The truck only has 1K miles on it.

Traded my 06 Sonata for a used 2012 Azera Tech last month
White with chestnut, 23k miles. Went 12 rounds with the dealer . We finally came to an agreement.
Only one complaint with it. The steering is lousy. Feels numb, wanders, constant attention needed. Very tiring.
Wanted an Azera when I bought the Sonata, but price to much. So while I'm disappointed with the handling, (even the wife noticed the steering ) the rest of the car lives up to expectations.

Got a weird pulsating feeling right through the accelerator when I get to 40 through 45 mph. Tires are new (245/40/18) with approx 2K mikes on them. I guess I have two things to do rotate and balance or just balance. Hope it's nothing to do with the larger tires and messing up something in the car.

I've had my '12 Azera for about 6 weeks. One issue with the car is the inside of the windshield on the driver's side won't stay clean. I can clean it and the next day it has a film on it. The longer I leave it, the bigger the area gets. I've tried all different types of cleaners with no better results. I had a GM car that did this, was told it was from the gases escaping the plastic molding inside the car near the windshield. The Azera doesn't have that. I'm puzzled why it's doing it and how to stop it.

Every time I start my 2013 Azera there is a rattling of the valves like there is no oil in the top end. I have heard other owners complaining about this so I asked my dealer when I went in for an oil change. The last three changes I have asked and he told me the same thing, there is nothing being reported. So I got my oil changed and went home. Parked the car for 6.5 ~ 7 hours and when I started it up the sound was louder than ever. I called the dealer back and told them. They asked me to leave it overnight so they could hear the noise for them selves. I dropped the car off that evening.
I got a call the first thing in the morning and they said that their tech did hear something and they were going to test it again in two hours and call me back. They called back and said they believed it was the CAM phasers. They gave me the car back while they ordered parts and rounded up a loaner. I dropped it off on Thursday.
Two weeks later (today) I picked the car up. Here is what they did. It turned out to be the CAM Phasers so when they got in there they also had to replace the CAM shafts (All 4) as well. I am sure there was more going on than what they told me, after all they had the car for two full weeks!

When my car sits for a few hours and it starts the engine is very noisy and rattily, for a second or so. One of my coworkers heard it the other day and made a comment. Oil is changed every 4000 miles, level is good. This is consistent and does it every time it sits for a while then starts.

Noticed when A/C is on, the fan speed suddenly turns up (i.g. 3bars to 4bars), especially during recirculate mode.
The Auto button is set OFF (on the middle circle knob). Is this a defect?

2013 Azera with 7k on it. Problem started at about 1500. Coming to a complete stop, the rpm return to normal idle (700rpm). A few seconds later, the rpm drops to 500 and the car shakes. Feels like the car is about to stall. About a second of 2 later, the rpms return back to normal idle (700). The car has been to the dealer 4 times and they cant find the issue. And now they are telling me that it is normal. I drove a brand new Azera with service manager and it was not doing the idle drop. Search youtube for "azera 3" with the same screen name as here.

Over the last few weeks, my '12 Azera has developed some sort of noise I assume to be from the suspension, particularly on the right front. When the car sits for a long amount of time, there is a bumping/rattling noise when driving it. It takes a long time for it to go away. If I drive it a bit, turn it off for a bit, then drive it again, it won't do it any more.
I'm thinking it could be the strut mount bearing. I had a GM car that did the same thing and that was the problem. They replaced the strut mount and never did it again.

2012 Azera with 29000 on the clock. Dealer replaced the battery last July. I am now having problems again with the battery going dead. Taking it back to dealer on Tuesday. I thought it was the 90evening it was only around 80 and the battery was dead again.

Just today gauge showed only 2 segments... I filled up the tank and machine stopped at 37 lts.
So there were 33 liters on tank before refueling = should have shown half the segments.
Never happened before in 3 years and 40.000 KMs....
What can I do?

Since day one, I've had problems with entering destinations into the GPS screen. It randomly throws in characters that are nowhere near the one selected. I've tried to re-sync the screen, by following the available instructions, to no avail. Other than this issue, the car is great!

The stereo will power off after 10mins or so (even if the ignition button is on ACC or Power position), and the radio screen shows a battery discharge warning (this goes on before the power gets cut off).
Is there a way to keep the stereo power on even with the engine off? The ignition button is already on ACC or Power (without engine on) and the system still cuts off the power after 10mins or so...

When parking on a severe incline, it's hard to put the car into reverse and there's a clank from underneath. It's not a smooth transition. Is this normal?
