Need to locate the fuse for the power seats in an 07 Toyota Avalon. The seat has been stuck in an uncomfortable position for a while. Id like to check the fuse before removing the entire seat to look at the motor. Dealer wants $200 for this info.
View 1 RepliesThe larger (60) side of my 2005 Sienna's third row seat is stuck in the "up" position. That is: the seat back will fold down, but the seat will not release from the floor in order to fold down into the well at the back of the vehicle.
The pull tab on the back of the seat that releases it moves in and out too easily. I viewed the mechanism under the seat and it appears that the pull tab is linked to a cable which rotates an armature, which in turn pulls one cable for each leg of the seat to release it. It looks like the cable connected to the pull tab is properly rotating the armature, but the legs aren't releasing. I can't tell for sure but it seems like the armature is rotated into the "release" position but it hasn't released the legs. I've crawled under the seat and tried my best to rotate the armature with my hands and a pair of pliers to no avail.
I was thinking my next step would be to try to rotate the armature with a little gentle persuasion (e.g. a hammer and a screwdriver or piece of wood).
I am able to operate my power drivers seat in all position except for reverse. My wife was the last one to drive and the seat is stuck in almost the full forward position. I can move the seat forward but not in reverse.
I've already looked under the seat for blockages along the railing and didn't see anything. I would try to remove the seat, but its positioned too far forward to access where I think the bolts would be. I did notice one unconnected wiring harness coming up from the floor under the seat, but it looks like it doesn't go to anything. Maybe its for models with heated seats or something because I don't have heated seats. My car by the way is a 2009 sonata GLS.
Does the memory seat function remembers the back position (angle)? Or does it just remember the height and forward/backward position of the seat? The back angle position is not remembered in my 2014 Avalon Limited but I am not sure whether I should report this as a problem or whether that is just the design.
View 2 RepliesThe passenger side 3rd row seat is stuck in the down position. The driver side lifted and locked in place just fine, but when I pull the release lever on the passenger side the outer part releases but center portion won't budge at all.
I've tried everything I can, which isn't much other than pulling and grunting at the same time (usually works for me )Critical because I need to set the 3rd row up in order to reach the bolt holding the 2nd row seat so they can be removed so I can access the fuel covers in order to replace the faulty fuel sensors so my gas gauge will work.
The "60" portion of my 60/40 rear seat will not go back to the regular seat back position. I have been told by a local VW dealership that the center seat belt mechinism is locked and is preventing the seat back from going back up.

I don't have a lot of historical service data on it but I had it looked over by a mechanic and all it all its in great shape for the miles. Now focusing a bit on the inside I feel the driver's seat is a bit uncomfortable.

Now that I have been driving the car for about 3 months, the driver seat is taking a toll on my back.....
I have tried adjusting the seat repeatedly and constantly. Feels like every day. Seat feels hard as if I am sitting directly on the metal plates beneath the cushion. I have tried sitting in the passenger side to compare and I don't feel the same. Then again the passenger side does not have any adjustment controls or metal plates to tilt the seat cushion and it also feels as if it has a thicker cushion padding.
The cushion on my driver seat feels thin - I feel as if i am sitting right on the metal plates that tilt the seat. My wife thinks all of the seats are 'Too Hard'. I think that is more of a 'New' issue. But feeling like I am sitting on a metal plate.
I have an open complaint to the Toyota Care and they reached out my dealer. I will be bringing the car in to see what they say. I am guessing, they will say there is nothing wrong with the car. My next steps will be to look at other trims like the LE and the XLE to see what the driver seat feels like and maybe look to switch out the seat(s) somehow if there is no resolve.
Any trick? I folded down the larger (driver's side) middle seat to get a large payload in...now it won't pop back up...no matter how much lever pushing and seat-yanking I do. It's a 2001 Limited.
View 14 RepliesThe passenger seat belts on my 2011 do not 'give' a little. When someone shifts in their seat, the belt tightens up (allowing little to no movement)...almost to the point of being uncomfortable. Is this normal/expected behavior? Or do I need to have them looked at?

View 10 RepliesWell, no wiring mod is required. Here is the procedure:
1. Set the LCD on the combination meter to the ODO trip.
2. Press and hold the TRIP meter reset knob for ten seconds or more within six seconds of turning the ignition switch to the ON position. Fastening the driver's seat belt while holding the knob cancels the buzzer reminder. (You may have to hit the reset meter knob to cycle through b-ON to b-OFF)
3. When this occurs, the LCD displays "b-OFF". The buzzer reminder can be switched between ON and OFF each time the TRIP meter knob is pressed. The LCD displays "b-ON" or "b-OFF" according to the buzzer reminder ON/OFF status. The display changes to the ODO or trip meter if the knob is not pressed in 10 seconds.
4) Performing steps 1) and 2) again when the buzzer reminder is off exits cancel mode.
I was able to disable the seat buzzer and took a drive. IT WORKs! I am so relieved.
Just bought a 2012 limited Avalon and am trying to link smart key door unlock to seat memory. Have followed directions in manual (ignition off, door closed, seat set to desired position - press 2 and unlock at same time, hear beep). After doing this process, I move the drivers seat and close and lock drivers door and wait until lights go out. No seat movement upon door unlock. Have to press seat memory position button to move seat back.
View 6 RepliesI just got the new Avalon. Pretty nice but rear visability isn't great and front head room has been reduced to make it look sporty. My problem is with the obnoxious seat belt warning chime which seems to go on forever. How to disable it? I use my belt all the time. Don't need a reminder.

View 1 RepliesHad the #2 ignition coil go bad (for the second time, mileage is only 84K) and decided to proactively replace all the spark plugs at the same time. #2 coil came out fine and replaced the plug with a toyota irridium. However, the #4 and #6 coils each separated from their respective boots. I was unable to extract either boot. I was able to re-insert the coils without replacing the spark plugs and the engine is running fine (no codes). Before I take on #1 , 3, and 5, I'd like to extract the stuck boots in #4 and 6 and replace the plugs.
View 3 RepliesI have an '07 Avalon Limited with the heated/ventilated front seats. The drivers seat just does not seem to cool properly, and what the problem might be. Occasionally when I put my hand on the seat I can feel a tiny amount of air blowing through the perforations, but most of the time it's not nearly enough to cool through a pair of jeans, and I can't even tell that it's on.
View 3 RepliesFront passenger seat rattles when the road is rough. Didn't notice it last week but it is noisy today. When I put my hand between the seat and center console, the sound stops. Is this common for a new Avalon? Is it an easy fix?
