Just curious if this has been an issue for Avalons. My driver side rear door lock has not been functioning whether it be with the FOB or using the power door lock button. Requires manually locking/unlocking. How to determine the cause?
View 4 RepliesMy rear driver-side door's lock just stopped functioning. It is in the locked position and I can't put it in the unlocked position using the key or manually (and I've tried using a LOT of force). The door itself is actually not locked. When I lock and unlock the doors, all the other doors work fine, and the broken one tries to lock and unlock, but it is stuck hard in it's position. But, the door stays unlocked under all circumstances.

View 3 RepliesOn my sister's 2009 avalon unlimited, the remote will only unlock the rear drivers side door. If the door handle is grasped to unlock the doors, only the rear drivers side door unlocks. On the inside of the car, the drivers side door unlock switch (master switch) does nothing. The passengers side door unlock switch only unlocks the rear drivers side door. The bottom line is that only the rear drivers side door locks and unlocks using the remote or passenger side door unlock button on the inside of the vehicle.

Driver door lock was stuck in lock position. key fob and interior button would not unlock driver door. had to force it open and now the door will not lock at all. tried key fob, buttons, and even inserting key and manually locking but nothing locks the door. Interior lock/unlock button next to handle moves freely now.
Is this the door latch assembly, the handle itself, or something else?
So, I can get a 2003 that has a bashed door. Question is, putting in a salvage yard door will have another car's VIN tag on it. How can it be transferred, or is it even an issue? Just scrape off the wrong one?
View 3 RepliesI went to grab my laptop out of my car this morning and my passenger side door wont unlock. I tried with the remote, then i tried using the button on the drivers door, then i tried the button on the passenger door and none of them worked. I don't hear as much as a pin drop sound coming from the pass. door so im thinking maybe its just a fuse or something...didn't get a chance to look at it..
Why I didnt think of it this morning, but i opened the door from the inside, remembering how when you do so, it pushes up the lock...that seemed to be enough to fix it...works fine now..weird..
A spring popped out of the door pocket in the driver side door when someone tried to clean it pulling it out (which they shouldn't have done). I have the two springs but I need a diagram on how to open the door to get inside the panel to put it back. How the door comes apart ? I can try to guess but you know there is always a trick.

View 4 RepliesI need to replace the hub assembly on the rear drivers side of my 2005 Avalon touring. I just need to know if the hub is pressed into the bracket that it is bolted to with 4 bolts or not. I would prefer it be the latter but I just want to know what to do with it. I took it all apart but decided to put it back together once a saw the back end of it seemed to be pressed into the bracket. Maybe it's not, I just need to know how to get the original off and get the new one on.
View 2 RepliesMy driver side rear door won't lock any way that I try to lock it. I have tried to lock it by using the lock/unlock contol button that locks or unlocks all of the doors at one time on the inside of the drivers door and it won't lock. I have tried to lock it by pushing the rubber button on the outside of the drivers door and it won't lock.
I am unable to move the lock button next to door handle in the inside of the door on the rear drivers side door. Which led me to check the child lock lever that one can see when they open the door. Moving child lock lever doesn't do anything either way it is set to change the problem. Also I am able to open the door from the outside or the inside.
All other doors lock and unlock properly. My question is when there is an actuator motor problem does that make it so that one is unable to move the lock/unlock button on the inside of that door?
I have a 2005 PG GLI and lately I don't know why didn't happen at first but now whenever I lock the car with my switchblade key the drivers side door does not lock i have to push the lock down forcefully, any remedy.

After using the search function, it seems replacing the door lock actuator/solenoid solves this problem, but I could only find a diagram showing how to get at it on the drivers front door, not a rear door.
Looking for a diagram on how to do this, or info on it?
My GS350 came back from the body shop yesterday. Driver side rear door touch lock does not work. I'll take my car to the body shop next week, but I'm wondering what is causing this problem. Basically, I want to know how the door touch lock operates. Does it have any sensors attached to the door handle?
View 4 RepliesI have a 2008 prius and I realized today that the driver side rear door will not lock. All the other doors lock except the rear driver side door. I tried locking it using the remote, but it didn't lock. I tried locking it with the lock button in the car by the driver which didn't work. When i try to push the lever by the door handle, it doesn't move.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2007 Prius and recently both my driver side front door and driver side rear door lock actuator failed. I browsed and found part number to replace the driver side front door lock assembly. I wasn't very confident in my ability to replace the assembly, but I decided to give it a shot, so I ordered the part. The part arrived today and my wife and I just finished successfully replacing the assembly. It was a little challenging, but now that we know how to do it we could probably do it again in half the time.

I have to put it in anyways for the airbag seat rail TSB, but I was going to wait until my 40k service was due. This is too annoying to wait on since I put my briefcase and hang up my suit jacket in that seat...
I have a 2011 Avalon. The power door locks will all lock with the door button and the remote key. The problem is that only the drivers door will unlock with either method, what a pain.
View 8 RepliesI have a problem with my driver side rear door's child safety lock. The safety lock is STUCK/BROKEN on the lock position and i cant get it back to normal... The door could only be opened from the outside right now at all times.
I took the door panel off too see if i could do anything to make it unstuck but very unfortunate...
The safety lock is a whole module itself. I bought it to my mechanic he checked it out and said it cannot be fixed and has to be replaced and he quote/estimated me just the part alone is roughly $300?
How much the part would cost in Sewell? I tried looking it up but cant locate it
