Recently the door on the navigation controls has gotten jammed shut. I am looking for instructions or a diagram showing how to disassemble that portion of the dash so I can repair the jam. I have a 09 Avalon XLS.
View 4 RepliesWe just purchased seemingly well cared for 2009 Avalon XLS. Navigation system is showing a DVD error (unable to read). First we thought it was missing the DVD then we discovered the DVD port in the truck and through some trial and error got the DVD (#U52) out. We are proceeding with the logic that the DVD is bad.
View 6 RepliesOne of the rear doors on my Passat is jammed shut. If you lift the locking button it pulls itself back down and if you try to open the door from either inside or outside nothing happens, except lift the locking button up and down. I've taken the inside panel off as much as I can but don't know what to do now to open the door.
View 4 RepliesI'm posting for my Dad who recently bought a black 2009 Avalon XLS. He loves the car but there's one annoying glitch: if the car sits too long in the sun, the driver's side door cannot be opened with either the FOB or even by inserting the key in the door. He then has to go around to the passenger side, and either climb over the centre console or reach over and manually unlock the door. What surprises me is that he can't even mechanically unlock the door with the key.
I've spent a lot of time research this, but I've been surprised at how little I've found. Eventually I came across similar complaints with black Toyota or Lexus door locks failing in the heat, but nothing for the 3G Avalon and "heat failures". To confirm, this problem only arises when the car is parked in the sun on a warm day.
On my sister's 2009 avalon unlimited, the remote will only unlock the rear drivers side door. If the door handle is grasped to unlock the doors, only the rear drivers side door unlocks. On the inside of the car, the drivers side door unlock switch (master switch) does nothing. The passengers side door unlock switch only unlocks the rear drivers side door. The bottom line is that only the rear drivers side door locks and unlocks using the remote or passenger side door unlock button on the inside of the vehicle.
View 5 RepliesI purchased used 2005 Avalon couple of months back, it was having after market stereo installed on it so it screw up the controls display unit for both audio and temperature. It actually turns on and display two lines and big F on left side.
So I want to know is there a way I can fix the display to show temperature settings. Temperature controls are otherwise working even from stereo it is just not displaying anything on stereo other than big F.
I've had a 2012 Limited for a few months now and love it, especially the quiet nature of the interior cabin. Ironically it was because of that I started to hear a noise that has become quite irritating. It was clearly coming from the CD / Navigation system and began (or at least that's when I first noticed it) after I installed a music CD for the first time. The noise sounded like the CD player was constantly searching for a CD so I filled all 4 CD slots, but the noise continued. I called my dealer and of course they have never heard of this issue before (do they take classes and rehearse that line, they deliver it so convincingly no matter how ridiculous it makes them look!) I have now removed the Navi DVD and that is clearly the source as the noise has stopped. My question, is this normal or do I have a service issue here?

View 1 RepliesJust picked up my Avalon and the drivers side front door doesn't want to shut. It will latch but won't close all the way. If you give it a hard slam it will. All other doors shut with a gentle push.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2011 Avalon. The power door locks will all lock with the door button and the remote key. The problem is that only the drivers door will unlock with either method, what a pain.
View 8 RepliesThe rear driver's door on my car won't unlock. Manually, or remotely from any switch or remote. When we hit the door lock button on the remote or driver's door, there is no sound from the rear door. I can't open it manually either lock unlock, etc......
How can i remove the door panel while the door is locked? replacing the actuator assembly is no big deal as I have done it to the passenger front door, but I was able to get the door open to remove the panel. i don't believe I can remove the rear panel without getting the door open...
Installing a remote start and everything says to use gray/yellow, however that wire only gives a pulse when the lock buttons on the doors are used, not on the fob. I need the wire that gives a negative pulse when the lock button on the fob is pressed.

I cant use the power windows locks or door locks and the background light is off also, the front passenger side and middle row locks etc work. On the driver door the only things that work are the 2 back vent windows.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2005 Bonneville. Just recently the doors will lock and unlock on their own. The controls(windows/mirror) and lock on the drivers side works intermittently. The window and locks on the passenger side work correctly. At least I haven't found a time they don't work. Coincidentally, things started acting up after the drivers side widow was left open and a little rain came in. I have removed the mirror/window control panel from the drivers side, unplugged the connector, cleaned and put electrical grease on the contacts.. I did the same thing with another connector I could reach inside the door panel.

Front door speaker on my 08 Ltd is blown...I cannot find a way to remove the grill. Do I have to pull the door panel to get at it?
